Hermit
Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Thou art cordially invited to the Cast Your Fantasy Kingdom Superdraft! With each passing day of ye olde draft, ye shall pick what thespian (Actor/actress) alive or dead you would cast into each role of import in thy high fantasy kingdom. Doest though Wish John Candy as an Evil Queen? Sooth, save another beat thy time it shall be so. Doest thou wish Angela Lansbury as thy high priestess of the land? Done, and in whaterr age ye wish. It is up to ye, for the most part, whether they play their parts as heroic and good, or with such base knavery to shame their line for generations! Tyrants and Beloved Lords, Black Knights and Shining ones, Goodly Wizards and Foul Witches! And perchance, some of ye shall dabble exclusively in gray Morality? You make me sad. Carry on anyway! OH, once an actor or pick is made, it's off for everyone else. It doesn't matter if one of you wants Steve Guttenberg as your wizard, and another wants him as a high priest... whoever picked him first gets him sole rights to him for this draft. In case it needs be said, this is not Modern Fantasy (sometimes called Urban Fantasy) so keep it Medieval..ish or at least stop at the Renaissance Sovereign: This is going to be your ruler, the default is King, but if you prefer another title of aristocracy , even one from another culture, sure. Nothing too modern though. There will be no C.E.O of Tyrannia. Said Sovereign can be a Queen or the like as well, of course, in both history and fiction, women can be just as tyrannical or beloved rulers as the fellows. Consort: Whether married to your ruler or merely a lover, the Consort should probably at least have influence, and in some cases might have a true partnership in rule! Be Sure to stress which as it certain shapes your kingdom. Designated Heir: Usually heir by blood relation, but that's not a requirement. This lad or lass is expected to take over when the ruler passes on. if he or she IS blood kin, you might want to make sure actors have a family resemblance Greatest Warrior in all the Land: Often reserved for a shining knight, your greatest warrior might be a wandering barbarian, a gladiator of an arena, or even a retired veteran turned farmer. Good, evil, he's the guy girl with the weapon... and the badassery skill to use it well Wizard: You need at least one wizard, witch, sorcerer, etc. Be he an adviser to your ruler, or a threat to the land, that's up to you. High Priest/Priestess of the Major region In your kingdom: Pick a fictional faith/religion from a novel, comic book, movie etc... and cast an actor to play the high priest/priestess of it! Are they an evil cult leader? A kindly matriarch of a healing deity? A political force fit to rival the rulers? You decide- BONUS- you may, if you wish, pick a deity from one of our world creation superdrafts to be your biggest state religion! Monster That Threatens the Entire Kingdom: Dragon! or Giant, or Kraken... every fantasy kingdom needs a monster that threatens it! Obviously, casting for this is likely going to be more voice acting ... though if you want W.C. Fields in a Dragan costume more power to you! OUR HERO!- Oh this one is wide open. Farmboy with a destiny? Lovable rogue with a heart of gold? Girl named Jackie with a gift for giant slaying? Go for it. Pick your actor or actress and then tell us about the character they're going to play. Not all heroes are nice mind you, or even competent. Maybe 'protagonist' is the better term IF you prefer your hero be one of the already picked roles, this becomes "Our Sidekick" THEME MUSIC: Pick a song, or a composer (Alive or dead) and it's attached to your movie. A VILLAIN: Notice, I say 'a' villain, not the Villain. After all, you might already have the warrior as the bad guy, or the ruler him/herself, or whatever... so this spot might be a minion, a partner, or even a hidden superior to any other bad guy you wants OR they could be THE Villain in a land full of non villains. Stealing from another Set/Studio: We're casting a fantasy movie right? that ain't cheap, and we want to interest fanboys. So, feel free to use any prop from any High Fantasy movie, TV show, or Novel. Magic swords, rings, and even whole sets ("It's only a model"). Just for the record, not people. Obligatory Fantasy race: Your elves are different, sure they are... but you better name the setting you're basing your elves, dwarves, halflings, or whatever on. You get to pick one non human humanoid fantasy race to walk along side man (or fight them etc) ...they can be rare or common. This is one area where you As with the gods, you may pick a race from a previous world creation superdraft if you want Optional Character: For those roles you feel are neglected, this is wide open. Need a merchant? A milkmaid? Cast away. We start picking on JANUARY 7, 2020, Noon EST US (A Tuesday) Buying you time to ask questions etc.

You may call your kingdom whatever you like by name, but there will be no location pick per se. Your kingdom is assumed to be roughly five hundred miles in radius... but it can be an island, a part of a great continent, etc. You do not even have to pick your Sovereign's actor first! How many times have we heard 'so and so cast for minor character for new series but we're going to act like this is big news anyway'? We can do the same
Hermit
We start picking on JANUARY 7, 2020, Noon EST US (A Tuesday) EDIT: Okay. I deleted Duke's post because apparently he missed this and I didn't want him to be sniped. For those that don't know... You get ONE Pick a day and not until the starting time. Also, remember, these will be actors CAST in the role ... so please feel free to create a name for the character they will be playing. So if you have John Candy as Queen, then it might be John Candy as Queen Candidia Purejoy or whatever Sorry I forget not everyone has done these before. Generally - You get one pick per day. First in first served. - Once the pick is announced that pick is reserved to that player and “off the table”. - Anyone else planning to pick that person/item/hero/villain/etc but late is said to be “sniped”. Crying expected. - In the case of heroes like with multiple identities, you pick the man (Hal Jordan, Barry Allen) not the mask (Green Lantern, The Flash). Ergo, other substitutes eg Wally West, other Green Lanterns are still available to other players. Duke Bushido
L. Marcus
It is a good policy to cry a bit before entering a draft, because you will get sniped. After you have been sniped, remember to wreak vengeance upon Old Man. Duke Bushido

Duke Bushido
Enlighten me on the filling in of the slots: If someone picks a guy for Slot One, is that slot then filled, or is everyone picking for that slot, and a 'winner' will be picked from the submissions?
Pariah
Some Superdrafts have a rule where the location slot must be filled first. Other than that, you may fill the slots in whatever order you choose. For example, if your entire story depends on having one specific actor in the villain role, you should fill that slot first. In terms of winning, once all participants have filled all slots--and some will write supporting fan fiction, although that's not required--Hermit will post a poll to determine who drafted the best cast. Hope that helps! Duke Bushido

You have your own roster to fill, depending on the rules of a particular draft -- your own king and queen and kniggit and so forth. Well, most superdrafts you pick a character, here you pick an actor who will be filling the character's role. Once you pick an actor, no one else can pick that particular actor, though they still have to fill the roles. If I take John Candy to play the part of a sovereign , no one else can use John Candy but they still have to make another pick of an actor for their own sovereign. As for winning, once the draft is closed (Most folks made their picks etc) there's a little poll where the forumites vote for their favorite rosters! A bit of flash fiction sometimes helps (Keep it PG if you can), some go for comedy, some tragedy, etc but is not required and indeed as busy as some folks get not expected. Usually the poll set up asks you to vote for your favorite three (being multichoice) and we go from there. As there IS no prize really, it's all for the glory and the fun. Whoever has the most votes wins- but ties are not uncommon. Duke Bushido

Darth Vader and Roy Batty don't quite fit "so keep it Medieval..ish or at least stop at the Renaissance" Now, could your Greatest Warrior or Wizard or whatever be a Vader Rip off? Oddly, yes.
