  1. Re: Dancing Diamonds (5threv) Also remebered to buy personal immunity or he is going to get affected like everyone else!
  2. Re: Virtual Reality addiction? How about he only views the world through virual reality lenses? (I can't remeber where I got that idea from but its not my own). So it would be maybe a physical limitation as in reduced PER roll. the story that is vaguely in my head, described that the people saw everthing in something like 8-bit video, they don't want to see the real world. So perhaps its virual non reality? And if forced to face the real world, perhaps a penalty to Dex and combat rolls?
  3. Re: Dancing Diamonds (5threv) Not following why I should count the attack roll as a characteristic roll? In fifth, OCV/DCV is not a characteristic, but it is listed seperately for change enviroment. Btw, it occured to me that I believe the reason its listed as a negative OCV versus a positive DCV is that the rule for change enviroment only grants negative modifiers, and as you mentioned mechanically it is the same.
  4. Re: Dancing Diamonds (5threv) The -2 OCV is not a range penalty, it goes striaght to OCV. And as for area effect I can see that it has no effect on it. But on the other hand, I can visualize the effect of the diamonds distracting you that may still not be able to hit the precise area that you intended. And for the using DCV instead, thanks but I knew that trick already and had a version written up for it, but I think change enviroment would work just as well.
  5. Hello All, I wrote up this power for Diamond (of the Geodesics) awhile back using Change Enviroment, and would like a review of it. The idea of the power comes from the picture of Diamond in Enemies II. He is shown with a couple of diamonds close to him. So, the idea is that he can form multiple diamnds (of energy) and they can move and swirl about him thus making it harder for someone to hit him do to the distraction, but if they make their PER roll or use senses other than sight, then it does nothing to the attacker. Here it is: Dancing Diamonds; Change Effect (5 pts), 2" radius-total (5 pts), -2 OCV (10 pts), Multiple combat effects (5 pts), -2 PER (6 pts) No Effect if PER Roll made or uses PER other than sight. Real cost 28 pts END 3. So what do you think? As usual, thanks in advance!
  6. Re: What Champions Universe character would you gender change? In away Defender is the male version of Ladybug. (For those that don't know, Ladybug came out in Enemies III, while Defender is, asfaik, is 4th ed.)
  7. Re: What Champions Universe character would you gender change? Well I use the Diskmaster for Frisbee.
  8. Re: Batman and Iron Man 6th with possibly a VPP ~400 points I did some checking, and what bothers me about oif and restrainable toghter is that you get the savings of OAF but not all the restrictions of OAF. Some I would either a) give it as restrainable at -1/4 or a custom limitation affected by grabs and entangles at -1/4
  9. Re: Batman and Iron Man 6th with possibly a VPP ~400 points I have a question, why OIF and restrainable? Off the cuff I woudn't allow both of those limitations together. But I'm curious as to the reasoning. And I did use a vpp (as a ninja gadget pool) with the change at base limitation and it worked fine.
  10. Re: Facing and Passing Has anyone considered the wounding optional rule (5er pg 414) for the orc? It says that a character who takes body for any reason must make an EGO roll at -1 for each 2 BODY done. It made no further effects, but if failed, then the ponly actions the character can take is neutral or defensive in nature-NO offensive manuevers. So with the the orc and knight scernio, we figured the Orc takes 8 BOD, that is a -4 to his ego roll. His EGO roll of 11- so he has to make a 7- to be able to attack the princess, does this seem fair? I think so. (I didn't scroll back so I'm sorry if the assumed number are off)
  11. Re: Facing and Passing But that happens in real life. If you are faster than me, I have to be trickier than you! ; )
  12. Re: D&D 4E Style Minions My friend when he gms just goes by the dice roll. Basically if you roll a 3,4, or 5 then they go down automatically. It doesn't make them one hits per se, but does reward a player for rolling well.
  13. Re: D&D 4E Style Minions I ran a Fantasyhero over Easter weekend and I thought my lesser Goblins at 8 bod were going to go down easy, they only had 2 res def. The buggers lasted awhile. Yes, we used hit locations but my players either a) rolled an 11 which is the chest and armor. They rolled arms which is half damage.
  14. Re: Hero GUI Couple of thoughts on streamlining the game. When buying combat skill levels for characters, I suggest just buying skills levels that only add to HtH or ranged attacks. It easier to know what to add then trying to figure out what level works with which power or skill. As for martial art skills, I would recommend just using the generic style. You can simulate alot of styles with those skills and it is eaiser on the gm because you only need to remember a small set of manuevers.
  15. Re: Kusari (chain) weapon build fifth ed Another question- I've noticed that weapons with ranged advantage doesn't have the range based on strentgh. I'm going to change that.
  16. Re: Cassandra's Corner I was going to point out that the defense of flight was what was wrong with the build. By saying flight flight then it doesn't work as long as you bought the power-whether you are flying or not. Plus you could avoid the effect by sfx if you have a really good leap too. How about force wall any shape? The bodies form the wall and you could knock it down, but do you want to? Also though the force wall can't enclose like a dome if a complete circle is made.
  17. Re: Need a name for a windy character Well when I just read the title Blowhard came to mind but seeing that she's a girl-let's just axe that. How about Hyperwind?
  18. Hello folks, I just wanted to run by this build to see that I understood it correctly. I was working on building ninja weapons in Hero designer and I noticed that in the kusari's description, it says that you can grab an opponant. Its listed as being built with strectching power 2", red end 0, oaf, always direct, no non combat stretch, and only to cause damage. 1) If its able to grab a target I should drop the only cause damage limitation. 2) If its a felxible weapon, should it have the always direct limitation? Thanks as always.
  19. Re: Teleport Dodge, did I do it right? My group has used the + DCV defined as blink teleport. Its just that your character doesn't move out of place when used, so that could be bad if you need to need to get out of an area attack. Do you have any of the newer martial arts books? I think that this could be justified to buy the flying dodge manuever.
  20. Re: Cassandra's Corner Young Justice season one mentioned that Robin was age 13. And I thought that he was too young and yet Capt. Marvel having a 10 year old body didn't bother me as much. Another case of ymmv
  21. Re: Wacky attack Hyper-man I mentioned flying dodge soley because I remember the uproar in discussion awhile back. And I was referrencing what I said about the general rule of just because you can shoulddn't mean you should. I.e. if you munchkin this way then I'll munchkin that way .
