  1. Re: Eosin's Weapons List That art is amazing, much better than most dnd and hero books. I like it because it is not "over-done" the characters have on actual clothing and armour not pircerings and alien attire. How do you become a vanity publishing guy? How much does it cost? The world seemed pretty interesting to.
  2. Re: Horror Hero What do you mean?
  3. Re: Technocracy HERO Note to self: buy Technocracy book.
  4. Re: Musings on Random Musings Good luck Scuba Hero. The first session after a "break" are the hardest. Just take it easy and enjoy yourself. Remember players smell fear!
  5. Re: It's not a Robot... It's a Golem... Honest. Michael Hopcroft: If wally of the wind got magic then it is fantasy. And what does a Orihalcion Golem look like? Picture? Link?
  6. Re: Zombie Talents We have not seen anybody for a while... Invisibility towards sound Act-11 The zombie has forgotten to moan and will therefore be utterly silent as it shuffles towards the pc, unless it feet kicks a small piece of debris off course. Meat hooks for fingers 1t6 hka no end 1 1/2 with str only in groups, only towards unsympathetic characters or player characters whose players did not show up for the adventure. Sometimes when zombies get their hands on someone (usually a villain) the body of the person suddenly gets the density of a paper bag filled with ketchup and leftover burgers, the person can be easily torn apart limb from limb by str 8 zombies
  7. Re: Stun Problem in Fantasy Hero (Double it) If you have problem with arms being hit recomend to the players that they aim for the torso when they fight grunts and mooks. It is common practice in ninja hero.
  8. Re: Something From Age of Storms... Thank you for that, now it would be nice if you went back and described your other creatures also.
  9. Re: Zombie Hero: Pt 1 The Oakdale Galleria Talk about cliff hanger. Here is a tip for you. You write cool stuff but you should not let yourself run out of steam. I have seen many campain logs start out interesting but the fizzle out into nothing. Don't let that happen to you. Did I mention that this is cool?
  10. Re: Zombie Hero: Pt 1 The Oakdale Galleria And..
  11. Re: Character for revies: April Carter Okay, I am not used to see that written up that way.
  12. Re: Character for revies: April Carter Her PD and ED are very high for an normal person.
  13. Re: And He's Off! Don't be afraid to post monster descriptions they sell. I rep you tomorrow.
  14. Re: Something From Age of Storms... They sounds interesting but what do they look like?
  15. Re: Bony Jaws! What does they look like?
  16. Re: It's not a Robot... It's a Golem... Honest. What.... Does... it.... look... like...
  17. Re: And He's Off! I would like more info on the Junginine. Great idea, your writing skills make it sound like a really cool world.
  18. Re: Keeping Healing in Check Don't allow healing spells at all. To avoid the issues outlined above I suggest the following: Don't have more than one fight in every adventure. It can be a really big fight set in an exiting and dangerous location instead. Don't fall into the dnd trap of having to insert a couple of combats here and there in the adventure just to give the adventurers something to do. Also LET there be a couple of months between adventures, beging your descriptions with: Later that winter. as Alcarian’s health steadily improves, and the Ingur-birds returned to their roost at the red towers of Klaa, you get a signed letter from the wizard king of Ylkhammer. That way you got that epic feel. Why should not healing take long time? Just tell the players that it does them no harm in skipping a couple of months in the game time. In the old Dark champions book there was this optional rule that let players heal up one (and only one) body point per wound if they succeeded with a first aid roll. This way they are not nicked to death. There is no reason in fantasy hero that characters who usually do not wear much armour can not wear a helmet. Solomon kane style was sometimes made with a skullcap incorporated in it. A circlet or king Kull style crown can have a subtle enchantment about it that makes it as efficient as a light helmet. A mysterious character can wear a ornate mask or just a silver blank mirror surface helmet. Furthermore rec is a stat that can be helped with aid through herbs and potions that you get from your local friendly wise lady. That way healing up a serious wound might not take that long at all. Offcource your players might object to losing healing altogether so I have one final suggestion for you. Keep track of how many wounds and where they are. Then only allow one healing spell on each wound.
  19. Re: Starting a new campaign... Let the town be attacked by a horde of lesser monsters. After a while the npc's die off and then the pc's meet.
  20. Re: NPC Stat Tracking That is the sheet I bought! I could just have printed it out all this time.
  21. Re: Horror Hero All the genre books I have seen have had some thoughts on the different meta genres, I just saying what I would like to see being the focus of an eventual hero book. They can not give equal page space to all genres, although a comprehensive look at the different types of "horror" in b-movie hero can sound like fun it is not certain that reading fifty pages about it is so amusing. Another aspect of the hero book is art hero games should use only artist who have the right style for horror.
  22. Re: Musings on Random Musings Well it has evolved over time but the reason it was created in the first place was to ensure that the gaming discussions and the social talk that was there should not be bogged down by political chest beating. Offcourse back then there was not so much "adult" talk. If there was no politics or involved it is quite possible that social chit chat could be tolerated at their respective forums. In the old day’s comic book discussions would be in champions, opinions about the newest horror film would be in horror hero etc.. The reason I mention this is because I have noticed a slight unhappiness about the amount of political threads on the boards. This is weird to me because even though I did not often participate in social threads I did not see them as a threat to the real reason we have the ngd. But more and more I see the same attitude that political threads somehow destroys the boards or what have you. It is not really fair, if some posters want to discuss the recent sosio-economical developments in the middle east then they have just as much right to discuss here as someone who are discussing what they really thought of the last time they had anal sex. I'm a little tired of the constant demands for closing down political threads and the puplic outcry over threads that actually make you think rather than giving you a slight feelgood feeling. This became a little longer than I thought, and I did not mean to hold Lemming responsible for the conduct of the whole board. Thoughts? Comments?
  23. Re: Musings on Random Musings No that is why the NGD exist.
  24. Re: Horror Hero I would defiantly buy a horror hero book although none of the settings in the old hero book really interested me or the art there was any good (except for the were boar). Well one of the settings who was placed in Victorian times was pretty good. Settings I would like to see. 1: Monster hero, characters play monsters like vampires or werewolves or such. Alternatively they can play battle mages who fight them. Lots of action in this one, think Van Helsing or Vampire the Masquerade. 2: Zombie-apocalypse hero: Like the films.. 3: Hunter hero, here the hunters are low powered (10-25 pts) and hunts monsters who are much, MUCH more powerful than them. Think Call of chutulu or tv British tv series ultraviolet 5: Psychic hero. this one is filled with ghost's, poltergeist’s and psychic phenomena galore. The heroes are most often not aware of what’s going on and there is not much they can do about think. Powerlevel can vary because it does not really matter these monsters must be outsmarted or understood. Enemies can include serial killers with a psychic connection to a player character misunderstood pyrotechnic girl stuff like that. 6: God's hero: Here satanic forces are in swing, both on a conspiracy level and with demonic servants every where, or you could just have one of the npc be possessed. Things to avoid: B-movie hero, this is to easy to do. Splatter hero. again to easy to do. Magic hero: deserve its own book and it is not really horror because the players will have acsess to magic. You probably noted that I missed number four right.. that is conspiracy hero, we don't talk about that, "they" might be listening..
