  2. Uncontrolled (effect based on target's expectations)?
  3. If I was Darth 'Cumbent, I would need 3 things: a bifurcating white lightsaber, a pocket protector droid [[ FU-2]] & a helmet with the blast shield down. [edit]: Why not?

  5. "Sacrifice Move" was a poor choice of words for me as it is already something: a specific MA maneuver. I am thinking of a special action that any PC may make. A house rule that applies generally to everyone.
  6. So... w/ LS vs. low traction surfaces... the sfx might be that one never touches the ground... or something like that? =P
  7. What about LS: Safe Environment: Low Traction Surfaces? =)
  8. What if you took "spiritual" [PRE-based] Transform damage when performing a sacrifice move? This would be something like "sanity loss" done with EGO-based Transform damage... except that it would be leading to some form of essence-deprived post-sacrifice condition. All of the various negative energy effects caused by undead [e.g., permanent END loss] may be used as example essence-deprived post-sacrifice conditions.
  9. I was under the impression that, for every CE, the defense was a corresponding counter LS.
  10. Re: Remote Control With Duplication you get direct control over all of your duplicates. This is in contrast w/ Multiforms, Summons, Followers, Mind Controls... which all have some other form of rules-mediation in place between the player & the thing being controlled. The duplicates may be exact duplicates, something else entirely, astral projections, virtual forms, robots, computers, vehicles... even [iIRC] bases. [example] In D&D, the number of presently active avatars that deities may have at any given time can easily be represented in HERO with what are effectively remote-controlled duplicates.
  11. Re: Lock-On System "Fool Proof Targeteering": Luck 6d6 (30 active pts); Limited Power ("if the character makes an attack roll w/ a ranged weapon w/ charges, but fails to hit the intended target, for every 6 rolled w/ Luck, one stray shot hits nothing, repairs itself, teleports back into the weapon & pretends that nothing happened"; -2). Total cost: 10 character pts. ~ Mister E

  14. Re: Using DEX instead of STR for precision attacks. DEX is more expensive than STR, right? I would put a "Based On DEX" (-1/2) Limitation on all the PC's attacks... and call it a new kind of Talent.
  15. Re: Cyberpunk: how did it change? The Quicksilver Screen (1992) was a good cyberpunk.
  16. Re: Tactics 3) While patrolling, every party member should be in line-of-sight w/ at least one other party member, as far apart as reasonably possible. 4) While checking for traps (or taking point), it is good to rotate party members (assuming everyone is competent... there are enough party members (or fire teams) to have such options... & there are no other outstanding solutions).
  17. Re: GM vs Player narrative authority I like this. I believe that we make our own luck. According to Aristotle, what we do when we are drunk is not our fault. Getting drunk in the first place is. So... [to my mind] if you hit on women when you are drunk... you shouldn't drink around women... unless you want to hit on them... when you are sober.
  18. Re: The Last Word Here is my new decades-late schoolyard put-down response: "Whatever I am, by extension, so are you! Except your face!" =P

  20. Re: Weapon Familiarity and Futuristic Weapons in a Modern Setting Universal ["Warrior"] Weapon Familiarity: 20 character points: http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php/88069-Weapon-Mastery-(Coments-Welcomed) Allows a character to pick up, use, and maintain practically any weapon. Must buy the appropriate Transport Familiarities to use vehicle weapons. Universal ["Pilot"] Transport Familiarity: 20 character points... Taking both is perfect for an extreme Flash Gordon type PCs that can shoot death rays pistols from hawkman rocket cycles... despite having not known either existed before five minutes ago. "He'll save every one of us!"
