  2. Re: DC and Marvel: What Makes Them Different? It feels like a gaming company showing how it can handle the various comic-book tropes.
  3. Re: CU Hero-vs.-Hero Scenarios There was also that short-lived pre-New 52 period where Supes planned on giving up US citizenship so he could do just that.
  4. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares But wait, there's more! "Oh! You better not pout You better not slur Your dimension will soon belong to her Istvatha V'han is comin' to town She's making no list It's pointless, you see She knows what she wants It's Infinity Istvatha V'han is comin' to town She sees your world's defenses She knows what form they'll take She knows if you'll resist or not But no difference will it make So! You better not shout You better not curse Meet the new ruler of your universe Istvatha V'Han is comin' The Empress herself is comin' Istvatha V'Han is comin to town" - performed by the Imperial Battalion Choir
  5. Re: And now, for your daily dose of cute... "Got your nose!" "No, really, got your nose...."
  6. Re: Recommendations and Reviews of Superhero products both old and new I bought the 5e VIPER, UNTIL, and DEMON sourcebooks in a bundle and was pretty impressed with the lot. You could build several campaigns just with those.
  7. Re: What Makes An Iconic Superhero Costume? Probably just me, but I've long considered the Golden Age Dr. Mid-Nite outfit to be a classic, iconic superhero costume.

  9. Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread I have better hair.
  10. Re: Recommendations and Reviews of Superhero products both old and new There generally are. For the purposes of a gaming campaign, those standards are set by the GM, possibly (I'd think "hopefully") with input from the players.
  11. Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread This is my 1 year anniversary on the boards. Thanks, all, for making me feel so welcome here.
  12. Re: What elements should a great superhero setting contain?
  13. Re: Recommendations and Reviews of Superhero products both old and new Which is kind of true, given the nature of the Champions Universe. I figured it was up to the GM to ease the players into things if the CU was going to be used. But then, I also thought that the idea was that the CU needed better heroes, and that the PCs would be that, if they wanted to.
  14. Re: So You Wake Up In The Hospital Variation of Clonus' #2: They're all clones, and either a side effect of the process caused the zombie outbreak or is a potential "cure" in restoring humanity. Or both.
  15. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares The Champions Universe Villains' Christmas Album. "The fire is so delightful The fire is so delightful The fire is so delightful Uh, wait, I'll start again" - Blowtorch performing "Let It Snow", just one of the many gems included on this disc. Also featuring: "Doctor Destroyer", set to the tune of "Frosty the Snowman" and performed by the New Destruga Singers "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (But I'll Raise You For My Invincible Army of the Undead)" by Takofanes featuring the Jimi Hendrix Experience. "Run Run Samhain" by the Vandaleur Family Choir. And of course, the all-time classic "Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth (Once Humanity is Extinguished)" medley by Bing Crosby and Mechanon. Order now.

    DC meetings

Re: DC meetings I think that's right. Speaking of cold-based villains, I believe Icicle was involved as well.

  19. Re: Superhero settings vs People with Powers settings
  20. Re: Superhero settings vs People with Powers settings I think soap opera in general has been an influence on comics since at least the Silver Age.
  21. Re: Costumes I don't think the author was a designer, but the Agent of S.T.Y.L.E. blog at Newsarama dealt with costume commentary, and should be archived on the site.
  22. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? "I'm Set Free" by The Velvet Underground
  23. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? "Last Plane Out" by Toy Matinee
  24. Re: Iron Age Superheroes RPG: Cold Steel Wardens I've been monitoring that, mostly because I'm interested in seeing how many superhero RPGs and supplements launch via Kickstarter. Looks like that one's going slow but steady. I'd say it has a good chance of getting funded.
