  1. Re: Complicate the Person Above Cancer is remastering the One Direction catalogue for 5.1 Surround Sound.
  2. Re: Istvatha V'han - why can't she conquer Earth? They're nowhere near the power levels of the others, but The Futurists (The Fiend and Morticus) from CV2 seem to have a similar mindset. Professor Paradigm seems to think he's doing the Multiverse a favor as well.
  3. Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! Apathy No one knows where he came from, how he got his power, or where he found that horse. No one knows, because he can't be bothered to tell anyone. But the Apocalypse is coming, and he'll make sure you won't even be bothered enough to care. Assuming he decides to get out of bed.
  4. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Sleep in. Preferably in a fetal position.
  5. Re: Complicate the Person Above tkdguy Began the Beguine.
  6. Re: Modern-day Pulp? If music's a big part of the game for modern pulp, one could also look at the swing revivalists like Royal Crown Revue and Squirrel Nut Zippers, or even further back to jump blues artists like Louis Jordan and Louis Prima. Another thing to consider besides the look is the slang. Street language, especially if the GM is going to voice the NPCs, is pretty crucial to a Pulp game.
  7. Re: The cranky thread Condolences to you and yours, Marcus.
  8. Re: Cool concepts for your games. It's not that they're Silver Age, IMO, but that they fall into the "camp" subset. Basically puns writ large. Which works fine for me, but as Trencher points out, may require some adjusting for tone depending on the game. Still, a lot of imagination on display there.

  10. Re: Istvatha V'han - why can't she conquer Earth? Except for Steve Long, who created several for BotE.
  11. Re: Istvatha V'han - why can't she conquer Earth? Good post. To Steve Long's credit, much of what you cover is mentioned in BotE, with an added focus on diplomatic issues and the possibility of underground activity on other worlds in the Empire as a result of so many resources committed to the invasion.
  12. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore Works for me. Then again, it's frightening how often I've watched "Man vs. Food" and thought the same thing.
  13. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Taylor Swift's A Modest Proposal (Got to deal with those exes somehow)
  14. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Don't forget the oath: "I'm a Lantern But I can charge. If I have to, I guess."
  15. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? I don't think it is officially, but it's a commonly bootlegged movie. Haven't seen it myself. Last thing I saw was the Doctor Who Christmas special. Not bad.
  16. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares The Rick Rolling Stones
  17. Re: Your "2013" Pet Gaming Projects Not much difference from last year. I'm unlikely to do any actual gaming, but I continue to support Kickstarter products that catch my fancy (I'm patiently waiting for Golden Age Champions). I'm also writing down any character/NPC/setting ideas that come up since I don't want to lose them even if they don't get used.
  18. Re: Question: What makes a team leader? I've never built a character with the idea of being a team leader. I tended to avoid being the leader in general, to the point of having a standard "If I'm leading, we're really in trouble" response. But some characters I played just gravitated to the role.
  19. Re: Champions Villains Volume 4: Fan Favourites Got him for you. And for me, too.
  20. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? The Soft Machine - Alive in Paris 1970. Pioneering prog/jazz/weirdness.
  21. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? "Tones of Town" by Field Music. The best pop band you've likely never heard about.
