  1. Re: Who are the copies/pastiches/tributes/captain ersatz in your campaigns? My typical Champions setting (Neptune City) - in it's Golden Age incarnation - is full of pastiches of characters from both Marvel and DC's Golden Age. They tend to be very obvious and not really used much, existing primarily to give the players a sense of flavor. Centurion (Superman), Black Fox (Batman), Champion (Wildcat), All-American (Captain America), Golden Knight (Shining Knight), Goshawk (Hawkman), Just In Time (Flash), Minute Man (Hourman), Vixen (Catwoman), Warner Wolff (Lex Luthor), and others. http://www.neptunecity.org
  2. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore I'd try it.
  3. Re: DNAgents for Champions in DIfferent Worlds magazine #34? Anyone have that? Twelve buck? What was the original cover price on that? Three?
  4. Re: Starting versions of Reed Richards and the rest of the Fantastic Four He lacks the appropriate 'stache.
  5. Re: Creepy Pics. You know, most of them just look like what they are: women with hair Photoshopped onto them. A few of them though, actually look like men. I find this disturbing on many levels.
  6. Re: Starting versions of Reed Richards and the rest of the Fantastic Four This is something that gets touched upon every once in a while - usually is odd mini-series - and promptly forgotten in the main title.
  7. Re: MYTHIC HERO Kickstarter Only five hours left...
  8. Re: MYTHIC HERO Kickstarter Well, looks like about 20 new backers in the last two days.
  9. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore From the same site, I thought this (http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2011/03/cakespy-cadbury-creme-deviled-eggs-easter.html) sounded better.
  10. Re: MYTHIC HERO Kickstarter It's very strange (to me) that this project seems to have less interest than The Book of the Empress. No insult intended to Empress, but Mythic Hero just seems like a more generically useful book so I would have expected to see indications of broader interest. Ah well, still a week to go.
  11. Re: Creepy Pics. Someday these two will become elderly and they'll look in the mirror at the devastation that started as faces and cry.
  12. Re: Your "2012" Pet Gaming Projects My 2012 Pet gaming Project is to find time to game.
  13. Re: basic rule book From a rules/system perspective, the basic rule book has everything you need (although maybe not everything you'll eventually want). As the name implies, it has all of the basic rules, dropping some of the more complicated bits. You can do long running campaigns with just the rules presented within (and, personally, for games at conventions I prefer it). Now, there is no campaign source material in this book (or any of the "rule" books).
  14. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore Except for guacamole.
  15. Re: Charlton Action Heroes Hmmm... Other than Captain Atom, are any of the old Charlton characters being actively used in the new DC? (Blue Beetle doesn't count. He's very much NOT either of the Charlton Blue Beetle's, and so far I don't think the new title has created any actual link between them). Myhaps DC is planning to revive Earth-4?
  16. Re: Why I prefer HERO System over Pathfinder/OGL/D&D for fantasy Very odd. I've read many posts in this thread regarding the downside of Fantasy Hero being the extra GM effort involved. I find this amusing as the primary reason I (as a GM) use Hero is that I'm lazy - too lazy to learn any other game system well enough to be comfortable running it.
  17. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore You know, it doesn't sound horrible.
  18. Re: Pulp Heroines I kind of expected to see Osa Johnson on the list (she does fit into the Pulp era).
  19. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore I'm guessing this is sausage made from salted pork belly?
  20. Re: Neverwinter site Ah NWN1. My wife and I played the heck out of that game, and most of the expansions.
  21. Re: Stretching Character Art? Yep - he did. He exhibited every goofy Silver Age power he ever had during that story.
  22. Re: If you Had to Pick, ONE (already) Setting, to Run in, What is it? Tough choice, but I'd go with either Larry Niven's "Known Space" or Alan Dean Foster's "Humanx Commonwealth" - both for pretty much the same reasons: lots of charted space, lots of uncharted space, well realized societies, and lots of interesting aliens.
