  1. Mat and Perrin only end up with one woman each, Tuon and Faile. Just started my first reread of the series.
  2. Up and running Rebirth channel. No issues so far through level 7
  3. Voter registration in the US would rise dramatically if it weren't tied to the jury duty system.
  4. I was a COM defender when the change was first announced before the launch of 6th but I've since changed my mind. IMO, he deciding factor is this. Striking Appearance is: 1- more versatile. It cost the same to be head turning attractive, eerily unsettling or horrifically frightening. To get those same things from COM for the last two, you have to add Distinctive Features and in one case sell back COM and "buy" it to negative. Striking Appearance contains all this in the SFX you give it. 2- more realistic. COM used as a Characteristic makes an absolute statement. But looks are very subjective. Although buying more levels of Striking Appearance does give you "more" in a mechanical sense, it doesn't have the same absoluteness because it can cover a broader spectrum of things. A character with 1 level of SA can be just as physically attractive as another with 3 because those extra levels may have the SFX of "fashionable" and "outgoing". But despite my preference, this wouldn't be a deal breaker for me if I was sitting down as a player. I can play With Com added back in as a Characteristic without missing a beat. I was happy with COM for 20+ years and was resistant to the change like many others. SA won me over when I was translating characters from 5th to 6th and I noticed that I was embellishing the 6th versions more in the stat block and less in the character description.
  5. Best outcome I can imagine: Jon takes the Iron Throne with Dany returning to Mereen. Won't happen but I would be satisfied.
  6. You wake up with an armpit soaked in blood. A recurring rash turned out to be something called hidradenitis. One week in the hospital, four liters of IV's and $ 300 a month of perscriptions that I'll be taking for the next four months minimum and I"m back at home. At least the nurses were nice and I lost 13 pounds.
  7. It would be very strange if they didn't have the rights. Shang-Chi has been Fu Manchu's rebel son since the character's debut. Some of his support characters are directly from the literature.
  8. New warriors would be the property I'd want. They could even use it as the Nova origin if they cameo the others earlier.
  9. Professor Hulk was fun, the Bannertech stories where he was mostly Bruce were good but my favorite arc was Joe Fixit.
  10. Gerard O'Neill is the name you're looking for. If you Google search for the image you'll find that this was concept art from the 70's. The early Gundam colonies are derived from this design.
  11. We know only slightly less about the Night King than we do about Robert Baretheon or Tywin Lannister in their youth. The details aren't that important to the story. It's not complicated, the undead want to kill the living. The author just doesn't have a fascinating story to tell concerning them. The Children of the Forest created him and the other White Walkers to drive away the the invading First Men in Westeros. Like any other doomsday weapon in a fictional setting, they ran out of control and were going to kill everything. The Children changed their minds, the Night King and the Walkers were driven to the far North, the Wall was built and the rest is history. The undead were the main sub-plot of the story but the main plot has always been who sits on the Iron Throne.
  12. Nice picture, but I've seen too much Gundam to be wowed by it.
  13. Scott was also a thief and they needed him(and his crew) to pull off the heist.
  14. I want Shang-Chi to use the Gulacy stories with him as an MI-6 agent alongside Reston, Tarr, Lei-ko and Sir Dennis. I want Fu Manchu and to hell with the Chinese market. But I know money talks and this is highly unlikely.
  15. Good episode. The mass combat was a tad impersonal but I suppose the "Battle of the Bastards" may have set the bar too high. Only one death that I didn't expect but another I'd hoped against but they both went out like bosses. I also called the person who got the big kill at the end to my fellow viewers so I enjoyed that doubly.
  16. I think what Hugh means by "not taken" is reflected in the published material choices made more so than the philosophy behind them. Removing Figured Characteristics was a chance to demonstrate examples of lower DEX and a general decrease in power. The game could have been balanced to more rounded characters at maybe a 10 DC average to reflect the increase in character expense. Instead we got straight ports of the earlier villains, maintaining DEX and CV at the Figured levels, a needless 10 DC bump of the main Master Villains and a promotion of the secondary masters to 20+ DC. The big boys are so stupidly powerful that even teams of experienced heroes get trounced handily unless the campaign limits are designed with fighting them from the beginning
  17. Strange list, four mainstream cable shows two regular anime and one hentai.
  18. Everything is not best expressed as a Power. The Skill system is designed for this purpose and works pretty well at it. Look closely at Megaplayboy"s post just after yours. While you may disagree on the total skill numbers, it works at any level of the system(Heroic, Fantasy or Supers). Your way is functional but the values of the limitations would vary from campaign to campaign and you'd still need to increase or decrease the numbers to make levels of mastery.
  19. I meant CSLs. I no longer have my copy of Ultimate Combat(lost in the move and not replaced as I rarely used it). The PDF should be in the Hero Store.
  20. And it is now shut down indefinitely pending legal discourse. It was fun while it lasted though even if I only made it through a tutorial and sewer run.
  21. Removing Figured Characteristics does improve the system overall. Unfortunately it makes chargen more difficult(not massively but noticeably due to the lack of common benchmarks for the previously figured characteristics). This can be easily fixed by the GM. It's just that the main obstacle for new players is chargen and the game doesn't acknowledge it. A better question is, Is 6th edition the most fun version of the game, To me it's not. IMO, the last book that was written with fun in consideration was the 5th edition UNTIL Superpowers Database. After that the books became more and more like textbooks.
  22. It means exactly that you move three times as fast as a normal. Selling back that ability is the outlier' I have never seen anyone do this particular sell back. Selling back a stat to reach a given value is all well and good . It doesn't change your character's functionality in a given phase. Selling back your movement affects you in every phase. I've never seen a character with 2" of primary movement. I suppose it is possible with some blaster or stretching concepts but I would consider that a gimped build. Buying another movement power to compensate means you recognize that. I wouldn't give any discount to a character built on this premise. It's like selling back your OECV on a non-mentalist. You never were using it from the start.
  23. They've been covered by snowfall mostly. Ramsey just let them lie and Jon/Sansa have been kinda busy. This is why in all by D&D/Pathfinder games I insist on cremating the dead. Very few undead monstrosities form from ash.
