  1. I pretty much agree with all of these but I make an exception for Deadly Blow. As written, with the official rulings I've seen on how it works, it is the most broken construct in the game IMO. It is less expensive than the power it supplements, it adds to the base damage of KA but is not subject to all of the relevant advantages. By adding to the base damage, it enables bypassing the doubling rule (if you play with that option) and it is a talent and thus cannot be drained, suppressed, restrained or even detected without making a custom power. If the cost was raised and it was subject to doubling, I would consider it balanced. As it is, it is just the power the mechanic invented by the game designer to make his favorite type of character.
  2. I have to agree with Doc Democracy here. This is effectively a Multiple Power Attack and can easily become too useful and abusive. In fact the rules of 5th and 6th specifically forbid using a Multipower in this way. For example, adding area affect let's you heal all allies and damage all enemies on a battlefield with one action. The "randomness" being built in makes the Selective Advantage unnecessary and functions as a Detect after the effect.
  3. It's the simplest way of doing common speedster tricks like running up the side of buildings or across a body of water. With Flight as opposed to Running you don't fall or sink.
  4. Hmmm, you've ruled out three of the most common tropes here but these two still come to mind. Revenge - Somebody, be they government, corporate or individual has got to pay! Revolution - Things have got to change! It could be destroying the world, culling the population/technology to save the environment or converting everyone into programs in a VR environment but society will be different or else!
  5. Shang-Chi was at its best in the Gulacy storylines where he was an MI-6 agent.
  6. Wilt Chamberlain"s corpse spins in its grave when you say thing like that.
  7. It's the difference between building with Heroic or Superheroic campaign assumptions. Heroic is more complicated (as concerns weapons) because more conditions are placed on the powers/builds to emulate realism.
  8. QB success is hit or miss. The point in his favor is that he has 5 QB's that are currently in the NFL. I wouldn't have hired him(above QB coach) but the NFL is looking for the hot young offensive minds right now.
  9. Minor correction because it concerns my School. Kingsbury was at TAMU but it was as OC under Sumlin with Manziel as QB. He took the HC job at Tech and while he had a losing record, he does have a decent rep as a QB whisperer as he worked with case Keenum(UH), Manziel(TAMU) and Davis Webb,Baker Mayfield and Mahomes at TT.
  10. With some qualifications on usage, it's generally not necessary to buy a separate power to make a weapon or shield. You buy the power , the weapon is just a special effect. You would use Advantages and Disadvantages to further customize the power. Base power- Only you can use it. If you can hand it to a buddy then UBO. If it can be taken then Focus. If it can be disarmed or broken but not truly kept away from you then Physical Manifestation.
  11. Only the Coast Guard is affected by the shutdown as they are not part of the DoD.
  12. Since the service academies don't recruit for sports, whether they have enough talent to compete at D-1 is always going to be intermittent.
  13. They can't jump unless the NFL changes its rules. Three years of college minimum. As true freshmen they have two years to go.
  14. Sorry, I've been online much less lately. You've done an excellent write-up of Kuroko. She's probably the easiest character in the series to accurately translate to Champions( Meltdowner would be next, I think). The Index/Railgun world is not big on straightforward characters.
  15. Aquaman is a hero but he has never been regarded as a moral paragon whereas "Do not Kill" is woven into the Superman and Batman mythos. We hold them to a higher standard because it's a big part of what both characters represent. Snyder though, he got started in comic book movies with the two of the most successful deconstructionist comics out there, 300 and Watchmen, and did Dark Knight Returns as his followup. Grim and dark was what he thought the industry was all about.
  16. Unfortunately it will be nigh impossible to get both houses to override with a 2/3 vote. Hell, McConnell won't even allow a vote that Trump won't approve. I can dream though. I think Trump would do a total meltdown if Congress did override him.
  17. San Antonio is the largest city without a team but the fan base is pretty solid behind the Cowboys. Unfortunately, at 24 years old, the Alamodome is quite outdated as a stadium(in terms of luxury boxes and amenities). Also neither the Cowboys or Texans would vote for a new team in their territory. Moving an existing team with promises to split the costs of a new stadium might be possible.
  18. Bowl games are one of the few forms of compensation that the players get. https://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2018/12/14/18136097/bowl-game-gifts-2018 Game participants, and often bowl VIPs, are given an order form and allowed to select a gift, or gifts, up to a value that is predetermined by each bowl, not to exceed the NCAA limit. The NCAA allows each bowl to award up to $550 worth of gifts to 125 participants per school. Schools can, and usually do, buy additional packages that they can distribute to participants beyond that 125 limit. In addition, participants can receive awards worth up to $400 from the school and up to $400 from the conference for postseason play, covering both conference title games and any bowl game.
  19. The MCU is very close to the Ultimate universe where Miles was created so it would probably closely parallel. Peter in the Ultimate Universe was associated loosely with SHIELD and he idolized Fury. Fury wants nothing to do with him at first but comes to trust Peter during the Clone Saga. He is introduced to Stark and the Avengers after the Clone Saga. Ultimate Captain America does not think much of kid superheroes and is pretty hostile to Peter. Peter takes a bullet for Cap which goes unnoticed and Peter is separated from the action. He goes home to change before going to a hospital and is ambushed outside the house by the Sinister Six. Peter defeats the villains but bleeds out from his wounds and "dies." A large public funeral is held, highlighted by Aunt May slapping Cap for being unfeeling. Enter the Miles version of Spiderman. Miles is bitten by a spider that hitched a ride from a box that his uncle has lying around the apartment. He acquired it in his "job" which you'll understand if you've seen the movie. He gains his powers and is tracked down by Fury and SHIELD after his initial appearances. Fury decides to make Miles a SHIELD trainee and gives him his costume , web shooters and arranges a teacher for Miles: the female clone of Peter that was the only clone that survived the Clone Saga. He later meets May, Gwen and Mary Jane . The girls are about two years older than him but are there to give him sympathy and advice. Later Peter returns from "death" but moves away with MJ under a SHIELD witness protection program.(my memory is fuzzy on this part, I had stopped collecting and only read these in passing at the bookstore.)
  20. Teleporting objects into the pillars to collapse them isn't a UAA Teleport. The power is an RKA and the teleporting is the SFX( the same as teleporting the pins into a body). Teleporting people or objects just to move them is a UAA. They are both uses of her overall Teleport ability but very different game mechanics. Reason from effect and then choose the best power for that effect.
  21. It's not Usable as an Attack, it's Focus/ Object of Opportunity. She used the panes because they were available. She could have used cardboard or metal plates but she didn't have those on-hand.
  22. Loki is Thor's villain and the first Avengers villain by canon, Klaw is the villain used to introduce Black Panther to the FF and Red Skull has always been a Captain America foe. The MCU controls those villains as part of those heroes catalog. Leader belongs in Hulk's catalog so Universal has him.
  23. Very nice job here. Might want to adjust the Teleport based attacks slightly. She carries the spikes but can use any object of opportunity under her mass limit.
  24. Thanks and Merry Christmas to you guys! I must give thanks to Derrick Henry but more to his coaches for deciding to use him these last 3 weeks.
