1. Re: Fun with Force Fields I dunno; you might achieve this with a roll-for-effect mechanic on the shields themselves (so e.g. instead of 15 DEF in FF, you buy 5 dice, and roll those for the FF DEF when you enter combat). Not sure what that'd be worth, but it might work.
2. Re: The Last Word Kitten pics in LTE!!
3. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER First, a couple of kitten pics: This guy's ahead of the others in terms of coming to people. Two of the others are wrestling in a closed-top box. The boarded-over storage bay momcat got into, from which my wife had to extract her, getting several bites in that process. Yes, it's over the closet; out of the picture below & right is the sink counter.
4. Re: The Last Word Yeah, I've heard that, but never tried it. One of our less-ept kittens in the last one litter fell into (dirty) toilets twice and needed a warm-water-and-soap bath both times, so I've tried to make it a point to leave the lids down.
5. Re: The Last Word As in, they spook easily. Most noises make them go for cover. Until this morning, they uniformly avoided people. We're going slow & gentle with them, and they're coming around, but after the wanton, gleeful mobbing I got when walking in on the previous batch, it's a little slow.
6. Re: The Last Word I'll try to take some tonight & load 'em on the memstick so I can post them tomorrow. I'll include a shot of the boarded-over storage bay that momcat got into that got my wife bit up. There won't be a pic of 5Er with this momcat. Only five kittens in the litter; two mostly black, the rest are tabby or tabby/white (like their mom). All kittens are cute; these guys are still a little spooky.
7. Re: "Neat" Pictures I stumbled across the Sloan Digital Sky Survey archive while looking for other stuff. A couple dozen images here, some spiffier than others.
8. Re: The Last Word Some of the new batch got up and came to me when I went into the bathroom this morning. First time that's happened; before they've either ignored me or tried to hide. I made sure I fed them.
9. Re: A Thread for Random Musings WhenTF did gauchos come back into fashion?!? It's like 1976 out there.
10. Re: The Last Word Well, not that type, anyway.
11. Re: The Last Word No, teeth. Tongue doesn't draw blood.
12. Re: The Last Word I tend to bite the insides of my cheeks, not my tongue.
13. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Dejah Thoris, Princess of Mars ... as long as she doesn't smoke.
14. Re: What rule don't people know? I Haymaker'ed an Ego Attack last Friday evening because I remembered that rule. For the first time. We'll have Black Diamond down for the count real quick (we broke up the session, near midnight, in mid-fight).
15. Re: Complicate the Person Above Narratio has the uncanny ability to find large prime numbers. He eats a fortune cookie, whole, without removing the fortune. Wait ten minutes, and then pull the fortune slip (a bit soggy) out of his left ear. On it will be a prime number of at least 24 digits. The staler the cookie, the bigger the prime.
16. Re: "Neat" Pictures I missed that part, but it's true where I live ... at 47.5 degrees north, a chunk of the tail never gets above the horizon, and much of the rest of it stays deep in the murk.
17. Re: Favorite Anti-Brick tricks? A Desolid character with an Affects Real World attack will frustrate the living crap out of a standard brick.
18. Re: The Last Word Not me. I am tongue-challenged.
19. Re: "Neat" Pictures Rather than necromance Super Squirrel's old 52 weeks of wallpaper thread, I'll put these here for while. Wallpaper-class Scorpius field As always with APOD, click on the image on the linked page to get th e big version.
20. Re: Looking for help with some Monkey Business. Heh. There's all those anthropoids in the Jammers of Shadowfist, too.
21. Re: Answers & Questions Q: The aliens just disintegrated the Cardinals dugout! What are they trying to achieve? A: Um ... "burlesque" does not mean someone who sings like Burl Ives.
22. Re: Looking for help with some Monkey Business. I've got an orangutan brick whomped up for a slightly lower-power campaign that's to start in a month or two, though he's a technophobe, not a science type. Don't forget Swinging with the ability to make your own swing points by bashing holes in the surroundings. Something that I'm determined to make use of somehow is adding Discriminatory to his smell & taste senses, but since we haven't started yet I can't guess how that'll work out. Certainly Clinging, and perhaps Knockback Resistance, both based on holding on with his feet. And from the old "Things I learned from playing a brick" thread, I added "Ape Arms" ... 1" of Stretching, so you can pound things in whatever direction you want (Stretching lets your HTH attack to be Indirect). I'd upload him, but all I have with me here is an HTML export form, and you can't upload HTML files. I'll see if I can remember to get him on the flash drive this evening.
