  1. Not trying to upsell you or anything, but the Hero System Equipment Guide and its Hero Designer Character Pack are awesome and complete particularly the weapons. As to how to enter in the stats for a gun manually, you need to be sure you're using the Heroic rule set and can see the equipment tab, and then you pretty much just enter it in, probably as a combination power.
  2. Read and thoroughly enjoyed the first two installments of Kate Locke's "Immortal Empire" series. Queen Victoria along with all the nobility of Europe became either vampires or werewolves during the Black Plague years and are still in power in the year 2013 as the preparations ramp up to celebrate the 175th year of her reign. Steam Punk, Urban Fantasy, Gaslight, Romance (sorry about that) with what I found to be a really interesting setting that I really wish someone had a nice wiki for, because I can totally picture running adventures in that world using the Monster Hunter International rule book.
  3. For authentic pulp, I recently re-read the original Shadow pulp book in ebook form; for pulp-style, I recently read and thoroughly enjoyed Larry Correia's "Hard Magic", book one in his Grimnoir Chronicles series.
  4. Not to gloat, but I am reading the PDF now and it is awesome. The book is written with the perfect balance for me between Monster Hunter fiction and crunchy Hero System support for playing it as an RPG.
  5. Finally got around to reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I can assume everyone has heard of it, but I found it to be a very good story, deliberately limited to the perspective and knowledge of the main character. Not to be cliche, but I liked the book better than the movie, and I did like the movie.
  6. The Watchman by Robert Crais. I loved this book; it features characters in a series, but I don't think it's necessary to read the previous books to enjoy this one. It's sort of a PI book, and sort of a soldier of fortune book. I loved it for the characters.
  7. All of this was foreshadowed. I thought it was obvious that Pitt could control time since it shows up before those two events, and is the reason the guy in the armor wants him dead. The 5 minute event starts breaking down the masqurade for the rest of the world. CES I loved the MHI books, all of them, more than the Grimnoir books which are arguably better written. I shared the first book with all my friends, and none of them liked them like I did, so there's that. They are all eager to play in a game using the licensed Hero System books for it though as long as I run it.
  8. Has anyone had a really successful experience doing mecha in Hero System? I tried the Hero Game's "Giant Robot Warriors" book way, way back in the day, and actually liked it. Doing them as vehicles hasn't worked well for me though.
  9. Me too. I just wish it sold well enough to justify retail conversions of all the old 5th edition stuff. 5th edition is close enough that you technically don't have to do much conversion, but stilll.
  10. I imagine that sales of tremendous quantities of the book might create the possibility of follow up licensed expansion books of organizations, locations, monsters, etc. ?
  11. I think the best way to both condense and offer new material to appeal to both new and established players at the same time would be to include starter setting material (campaign setting, adventure w pre-made characters, spell lists, etc) with a truly slimmed down appendix-exiled crunchy pages with rules for how they were build in the back. Maybe pull heavily from Fantasy Hero Battlegrounds, and convert it all to 6th edition? Or Valdorian Age? That was golden!
  12. Re: Champions Complete. This is more like it! Does 'Champions Complete' leave out much of the content from the actual 'Champions 6e' book? What I am wondering is, if I don't either one, and only buy one of the two books (and I do own the two core books, 6e Vol I and Vol II), which one should I get?
  13. Re: Hero Central Down for?? I like roll20 for games that gather people in real time, but I tried it for a play by post, and that's really not what it's for...Epic Words (http://www.epicwords.com) is working out pretty well as a play by post site for one game I was in on Hero Central that migrated there after Hero Central went down for the count.
  14. Re: Hero Central Down for?? Is it a Hero System game you'll be trying out? Is it listed in the LFG forum?
  15. Re: Hero Central Down for?? FYI: I posted a finding Hero Central Players & GM's topic in the Player Finder sub forum for people to list their old Hero Central user name and their Hero Games forum user name to aid in connecting with GM's and players from Hero Central.
  16. Re: International (HeroCentral Rallying Point) Hero checking in for Harper Ross. I believe I am just waiting for the next step after having posted Harper's Interview, Injection, and pre-Threading scenarios.
  17. Re: Hero Central Down for?? Thanks for seeing and responding to this post, Dan and for updating us! I do hope we see the rise of Hero Central again down the line. In the interim, could we have a 'Hero Central' forum for refugees to connect and network? I am thinking where would be most appropriate to direct people to connect with their GM's and players to continue the games, so to me an actual 'Hero Central' forum made more sense then sending everyone to Player Finders or some other forum. If a dedicated forum isn't necessary, which existing forum would you suggest for Hero Central game coordination?
