  1. Cancer was one of the original illustrators and game designers for the paper and pen rpg, "Tunnels and Trolls"...and as a child, he peed on the Berlin Wall a couple of years after it went up.
  2. I was lucky enough to get in on the Kickstarter project, and got lots of goodies, particularly a number of PDF's with an adventure and monsters and NPC's and magic items; is there any schedule when these PDF's will be available in the online store, and other online stores?
  3. Ah, well...again, if you read the novels and want to recreate the specific setting from them, MHI is a great buy even if you already have the Hero System core books (rules, equipment guide, bestiary, etc). I'd say it's over fifty percent setting specific content with all the flavor text and illustrations expanding on the setting of the novels and many characters fully statted out as NPC's, and you can save on the postage cost buying the PDF.... If you're looking for just an Urban Fantasy setting and intend to customize it heavily in any case, you might be better off building your own. That said, I am not aware of any other Urban Fantasy world setting commercially available and already statted out for Hero System. Also, here's a more generic, free setting provided by a member of this forum that you might be able to use: http://www.killershrike.com/HereThereBeMonsters/HereThereBeMonsters.aspx
  4. The section "Aerial and Upward Knockback" on page 116 of Vol 2 of 6th Edition seems to suggest that anyone flying who takes even a single meter of knockback will begin immediately falling until their next phase and then take a half phase to 'reorient' themselves. It further seems consigned to the fact that in combat, most flyers will hit the ground and lie there a bit before they get their next phase. Really? This seems harsh as it is really easy to just do knockback to a flier, much more so than CON Stunning or knocking out a flier. Or am I just reading too much into the text, and a flier just moves back the knockback inches and hovers until they can 'reorient'?
  5. Hero System 6th The best one of all so far But more sales needed
  6. Doesn't "humanitarian" sound like it should be like a planetarium...for looking at humans?
  7. Read the "I Am Number Four" series and actually found it a fun read and compelling! It is very much a YA read, and plot holes and other less than adult novel issues abound, but I didn't regret the time spent reading them and found the setting inspirational enough to wonder about setting a teen champions game in it.

  9. Well...I like it! A lot! Got the hardback book, PDF, and Hero Designer Pack! Highly recommend them all! Of course, I loved the books too.
  10. Captain America as portrayed in the "Ultimates" comic run. And on the other end of the spectrum, Invincible from the comic of the same name.
  11. I got the 6th edition core rules (Vol I & II), the 6th edition Hero System Equipment Guide, the 6th edition Bestiary and felt pretty set up to convert 5th edition stuff, and then in a real coup, I was able to pick up all three 6th edition Villains books for $20 through the Colorado Relief bundle (PDF's). All my conversions are pretty much cake now. I'm 6th edition all the way, because I love all the changes (no figured characteristics, no COM, no Elemental Controls, etc), but, you know, that's just me...
  12. The Shambling Guide to New York City (The Shambling Guides) Paperback by Mur Lafferty
  13. "The Shambling Guide to New York City" by Mur Lafferty A fun urban fantasy, I enjoyed it a lot as a light hearted page turner in the tone of Xanth, Myth Adventures, or Lonely Werewolf Girl (though a bit more 'mature' content in the Incubus scenes).
  14. "Put Down the Ducky" by Ernie and Whoots the Owl
  15. China's Ambitions in Xinjiang and Central Asia: Part 1 Analysis

  17. Well, that was fun; got anymore starters?
  18. "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" by The Police
  19. I "vote" putting the rules in Fantasy Hero Complete, and coming up with a better name, like 'Champions' or 'Danger International'...there are so many, many fantasy rpg's that I think it should be named after and leverage something proprietary to Hero Games, like Valdorian Age (my favorite fantasy setting for from Hero Games). If the spells and equipment and monsters and sample characters were all built in as power examples to save space, and they were all from a single (proprietary, deep) setting, then you'd save even more space and distinguish the book from others and even build in content that people who already own Champions Complete might want. Basically, I think to make this work you need to pick a single genre, even a single setting for the book and put a page or two at the back about how the rules can be used for other settings. This would be more in line with Champions Complete because the super hero genre is a lot more narrowly defined then the fantasy genre.
  20. I hope this goes commercially available soon! The perfect PDF game book library! http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/21/sony-13-inch-digital-paper-hands-on/
  21. If there is any chance of any 5th edition books being made into PDF"s anymore, please keep "Valdorian Age" in mind! Thank yoiu!
  22. "Nowhere to Run" by C.J. Box awesome mystery/thriller and part of an awesome series.
