AKA the Joker syndrome.

Duke Bushido reacted to Cancer in DESILU
This may be a generational thing, but to me Desilu is Desilu Productions, Lucille Ball & husband Desi Arnaz's TV production company. For the sake of us old folks, you might add some bits that come in from that association.

Duke Bushido reacted to Hugh Neilson in House Rules to Simplify/Speed up Combat
I recall looking at a Supers game years back where combat seemed really long and realizing that, if I reduced every villain's defenses by about 10 and added 3 DCs to their attacks, combat would go a lot quicker.
If your game features 12d6 attacks and 30 - 35 defenses (no one likes being stunned or one-punched), combat will take a long time. Take the villains designed on the same model, bump their attacks to 15d6 (so they average another 10 or so STUN) and drop their defenses to 20-25 (so they also take about 10 or so more stun) and combat will go faster.
How many average hits will it take to KO an opponent? That number will drive length of combat.

It Actually isn't, but it is a pretty solid one; thanks!

Nah, dude. The older I get, the more I come to realize that "fan" input is - the overwhelming majority of the time - gar-bahge.

Duke Bushido reacted to Hugh Neilson in Killing Me Softly
In my view, the change from 5e to 6e achieved the objective of making killing attacks serve that purpose: KILLING, not knocking out, the opponent. In a four-colour Supers game, this would relegate KAs to a niche power - this is not a genre where killing opponents is a common occurrence. With slightly higher average BOD, the KA may have some utility dealing with automatons, barriers, entangles, etc.

I tend to ignore BODY once the current adventure is over. Start of next adventure, everyone is hale and hearty.
BODY damage, as you intimated, should raise the stakes during the adventure and players should be adapting their tactics to ensure their injured comrades are not unduly exposed to further BODY damage.

Huh. That is a work ethic to which I can relate.

Duke Bushido reacted to Rich McGee in Swimming question
If your ground movement can still legitimately be called "running" you're doing better than I am. I prefer to think of it as a "determined stride" at this point, but "lumbering advance" might be more accurate.
Still swimming well, although the breast stroke wreaks havoc on my knees if I do more than a few laps. Rather stick to the crawl or backstroke.
No reason not to at least try in an emergency, though. What's the worst that could happen, your tombstone reads "He died flapping" or something?

That sort of thing is why they don't make flashcubes any more.
Or better yet, one of those old-timey cameras where you put the flash powder in a pan loose.

Duke Bushido reacted to Ninja-Bear in Heroes In A Hurry Villain Writeup 2: Blackhead
@Duke Bushido, one minor thing is that the Backgrounds are priced as a group. So Influencer that I bought, (because hey, why not?) is priced at 10 points whereas others could be price at 15 pts upto I think one is 40 pts. Those are listed out as separate point costs though that won’t be hard to figure out. I thought he would’ve had them more or less the same cost then perhaps suggested adders but that’s just me.

Duke Bushido reacted to Doc Democracy in Swimming question
I am inclined to go all SFX on this and not require additional powers for things that make sense. A motorcycle running up a ramp would also get no ability to leap over a row of buses? Evel Kneivel would have been devastated...
Now, how far is a really difficult question because water is a real drag, submarines would not leap far and I do think dolphins do have a leap ability that adds to their velocity.
I would be meaner than @unclevlad for that reason, I might give him about 5m.

Duke Bushido reacted to unclevlad in Swimming question
So, LW, you're saying their velo instantly drops from 40 to 0? That's not intuitive. The built-up velocity exists, and it makes more sense to honor it.
First...if his horizontal move is 40, his pure-vertical move should probably be 20, analogous to Flight and Leap.
Then...what I'd say is the vertical velo remains, but there's no way for him to change it. He's in "free fall" going UP. His max height would be the converse of the fall...so...6E2 141. His current velo on exiting the water is 20, so he continues up for 2 segments, maxing out at 30m above the water.
A tad less generous would be he goes up his average velo...20->10, or 15, then 10->0, or 5...so a max of 20 meters. That's more accurate in terms of physics, but RAW goes a tad simpler.
