Dr.Device got a reaction from Derek Hiemforth in Damage Shields without a structure
As far as I can tell, it works the same. An area-affecting constant power affects anyone who enters it when the enter it, and every one of the power owner's phases thereafter while they remain in it. A Damage shield using area of affect-surface affects anyone who touches it when they touch it, and every one of the power owner's phases thereafter while they remain in contact with it.

AREA-AFFECTING CONSTANT POWERS
If a Constant Power affects an Area (either inherently or because the character purchases the Area Of Effect Advantage for it), the Power remains in effect in the Segments between the attacker’s Phases. Any target who enters the area takes damage or is affected in the Segment he enters and every time the attacker’s Phase occurs while the target remains within the area.

Thanks for the help Dr Device!
Here is what the spell ended up looking like:
Wall of Wind: Blast 5d6 vs PD (Wind)
Costs Mana Only To Activate (+1/4), Does Knockback (+1/4), Indirect (Perpendicular to caster; +1/4), Area Of Effect (8m Long, 3m Tall, 2m Wide Line; +1/2), Constant (+1/2), Uncontrolled (+1/2), Double Knockback (+1/2) (94 Active Points);
Magic (-1), OAF (Only to start; -1/2), Side Effects (Entangle 3d6 1 PD, 1 ED; 1d6 each phase until free, transparent to all attacks; -1/2), Concentration (1/2 DCV; -1/4), Gestures (-1/4), Incantations (-1/4), Extra Time (Full Phase, Only to Activate, -1/4), Short Range (94m; -1/4)
*Magic is a catch-all grouping of limitations that all spells must take in my campaign. I bought indirect so the line doesn't go out from the caster's facing, but shows up as a wall in front of them.
So it creates a wall 8m wide by 3m tall that does 5d6 and double knockback (away from the wall, of course) to anyone that encounters it or tries to go through. If I wanted to jack up the cost even more I'd tie in some kind of missile deflection but its already hella expensive and only the most vastly powerful wizards can even attempt it.

Man, they should make Contortion its own Olympic sport so all the effort some straight white men go to explain how media spotlighting women or minorities isn't actually successful or popular despite all evidence to the contrary doesn't go to waste. 🤣

You are not their primary target demographic for the character. The goal was to get more women to purchase tickets by providing a protagonist that they can identify with.

By this definition, most of the Republican members of the Senate should not have drawn a paycheck between about 2013 and the present.

What amazes me is the amount of people in the country that openly support authoritarian fascism. It's insulting and frightening at the same time.

Carol didn't flinch, didn't take her eyes off Thor's as he stared her down, even started to smirk a bit toward the end of their eye-lock. It wasn't the calling of Stormbreaker alone that made the difference, that was only one element of their interaction. Thor was reading her, one seasoned warrior to another. Confidence, self-discipline, are as important as courage.

Basically, Carol didn’t flinch; that is why Thor likes her.

Captain Marvel isn't trying to realistically portray military pilots; it is very deliberately evoking the action movies of nineties including and especially Top Gun.
By the end of the movie, she has regrounded herself by renewing her connection to those closest to her, has claimed her full power, has seen through the lies told to her, overcome her hatred of Skrulls and has set out to rescue the Skrull species from extermination. That sounds like a Hero to me.

I thought, when they showed the flashbacks of Carol in movie she did seem to be enjoying herself and having fun, especially with her friend. Her time with the Kree was spent being beaten down and told to control her emotions, constantly, because they knew that she had this power and were afraid of it.
As for Maverick, saving everyone doing what everyone the whole time said he was best at, did not make him no longer a jerk. The fact we don't really see him after that point, iirc as has been awhile since I saw movie, does not show a change in him, other then the feeling of loss he had for his friend dying.

Charisma and likability are subjective. I found her likable enough and a number of female movie critics whose reviews I read found her more likable and relatable than Wonder Woman.
As treating everyone except women like dirt, no. The character that she forms the strongest bond with is Samuel Jackson's Nick Fury, who is very definitely male. The people that she "treats like dirt" are those who try to push her around or take advantage of her.

I see this dynamic over and over, even in real life. It comes up a lot in women's sports. As just one example, people jumped all over Danica Patrick for being a cocky and self centered auto racer, even though you pretty much have to be cocky and self centered to even make it to the grid in auto racing. And many of the people being critical were women.
To address another point, I don't see the MCU shifting to activism so much as shifting away from the egregious whitewashing that plagued early comics. And it's not as though comics themselves haven't been activist since the seventies if not earlier.

Compare Danvers to Maverick in Top Gun. There's a lot of similarities in their arrogance and confidence. But it's okay for Maverick because he's a guy and not okay for Danvers?

How about a barrier that prevents teleportation, with an auto-resetting trigger (whenever someone tries to teleport him)?

I actually could see how, but this does bring up a minor quibble I have with the generic nature of Hero powers: special effects are important to the game, but often blown off by the mechanics. Should Power Defense defined as magic resistance really stop a poison? You have two choices: go simple, or have every power a huge block of "I covered every contingency" modifiers on it. A bit more granularity on defenses might be a bonus, if done with restraint.

As long as one ignores everyone who applauded Captain Marvel for being Marvel's first solo movie with a female lead and for its themes of empowerment and perseverance in the face of dismissal. But those were women, and men who don't object to movies being about them, so their opinions don't count, right?
