That chart amply demonstrates that WB can't make a bona fide hit with any property other than Batman. Even Blade II, which did reasonably well, was a Marvel property distributed domestically by WB. Only the Batman films did better than Marvel's worst performer, The Incredible Hulk. That's just sad.

One of the problems I have is that the show is so inconsistent with the basic competency of the characters that I never know what to expect from anything they do. I mean, how can Bobbi and Hunter be such great infiltrators when they can't even detect a squad of Russian soldiers advancing on their position from the front? And yet Bobbi can walk around dressed in a long coat and pass as part of the Russian security detachment inside the facility without anyone being even a little suspicious (until the plot demanded a minor complication, of course).
 
I really want to remain a fan of this show, but the writing is going to have to get tighter and less sloppy if I'm going to stick around.

I'm working on one for the Champions Begins project, the concept is really cheap for a hero build.  With the Hero Form Only, its cheap (transform into magic girl!), and I had a magic skill roll plus a wand, making the spells much easier to use with the wand (and more accurate) plus it acts as an endurance reserve in it.  

See, to me that sounds awesome. Well, not the goosing and deep french kissing, but everything else. I'm excited by seeing characters with radically different backgrounds interacting. IMO that's one of the most appealing features of the super-hero comic: it allows the blending of elements from diverse genres in a shared continuity, like almost nothing else.
 
OTOH you absolutely have the right not to like that or want to see it, and to ask for forms that appeal to you. Just let those of us who do have our fun.

Well, he'll have stunt doubles for most of the martial arts sequences, just like every other show with martial arts has for its star(s). Daredevil and Into the Badlands come immediately to mind as examples. After all, Daniel Wu isn't buff, and he doesn't have to be in order to come across as the most lethal clipper in the Badlands. The actor playing Iron Fist will have to be in shape, sure, but he won't have to look like Capt. America just to portray a convincing martial artist whose most devastating attack is a mystical, energy-infused punch.

I bet it makes a jillion dollars because DC isn't targeting comic book fans, they're targeting everyone else who thinks that comic books are stupid and costumes are for children.  Marvel has gone more than halfway in that direction as is.  DC has decided they want to show how awful the world would be with superheroes in it, then put it to a soundtrack by Two Steps From Hell.

Hela is a stronger villain than Amora. And it ties in better for "Ragnarok" (and Thanos, most certainly).

They missed an opportunity to differentiate Kara's character from Clark's this week. She's supposed to be about 24, and left Krypton at 14. So, she's lived over half her life without powers. Losing them shouldn't be nearly the shock that it would be for Clark, who grew up on Earth. They should have had Jimmy/James comment that she was handling it a lot better than the first time he saw Clark lose his powers, instead of having her handle it exactly as you'd expect from Clark. Dumb writing, there.
 
Winn breaking a cable was also stupid writing. He's a tech guru and he can't manage to plug a cable from a video camera into the back of a monitor without breaking something?
 
Kara can move fast enough to put on her costume and still catch a falling James, but she never uses that speed in a fight? I thought she simply didn't have that kind of superspeed based on earlier episodes, but after seeing that stunt, I guess she does, and just conveniently forgets to use the power in combat.
 
All that said, the episode was OK. I thought the writing was improving somewhat after the prior two episodes, but I guess that was premature.

No, that particular Ma Deuce is being taken off the line after 94 years.  Efforts to develop a replacement design for the M2 have so far failed.  There have been incremental improvements over the years but that's it.

Piecaken.  Cake with a pie baked inside, so you can have both instead of having to choose.  Or something.
 

 

That approach would probably work better if the rest of the storytelling wasn't all linked and sequential.  I mean, if each episode was a story to its self in isolation to the rest of the series, OK.  But if everything except how his powers work has direct and regular, meticulous continuity...

Or threatening the whole world with Von Doom...

Prior to Marvel Studios/Disney pretty much every studio was incapable of having a cosmic being be anything other than a cloud monster.

That "Galactus" is actually rather like DC equivalent, the Sun-Eaters.
