DC Movies- if at first you don't succeed...
Scott Ruggels replied to Cassandra's topic in Non-Gaming Discussion
The speculation is that he will be removed wholesale from the movie, and replaced. Who his replacement is, is unknown at this time, but the general rule is that if an actor is de-casted, then they have to be completely removed from the film for contractual reasons. He is still paid for his time, but no further pay from the movie. -

My source of Information: It's a bit long, but fascinating. -
The Above plans are not accurate, but the real vehicle is quite a bit more complex https://stories.wf.com/innovative-vehicle-time/ https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=25449 (Unfortunately good plans for it, cost money:https://picclick.com/Wagon-Master-Wells-Fargo-Horse-Drawn-Wagon-Vintage-373844386274.html)

Yes, that has been since February. So around a 6 month Development cycle. Still, the Muzzle Velocity is in a Paintball range, but the use of commercial Batteries out to 300 shots, to me says that the bottleneck isn't in the batteries, but still in the Capacitors.

What has impressed me, is the iterative (almost Musk-like) speed of improvements and capabilities of the weapon since I posted the EM 01 in February of this year. It's now August, and the next version is now in Ian's hands.

Midnight's Edge Reported that the Supergirl Movie was also cancelled. Also a few HBO Max Properties, as we3ll as Scoob 2. Andrej is of the opinion that they may cancel Flashpoint, because Ezra Miler has become such a liability. Most interesting is that, Zaslav said that the vaulting of Batgirl was done to "protect the brand", which is what departed Warner executive, Ann Sarnoff, was trying to change, similar to Marvel, to replace DC's trinity of Heroes with Batgirl, Supergirl and Wonder Woman, to make a "Safe", female Centric, DC Universe going forward. Zaslav, who is a strict dollars and cents executive, turned out Sarnoff, and most of her allies, and didn't bother hiring anyone to fill her position at Warner Brothers. Several Television shows on HBOMax were also cancelled, with a possible more announced later. YouTuber Culture Casino, was of the opinion that if They can re-negotiate Henry Cavil's contract to play Superman again, Flashpoint will also most likely be vaulted, as well. If they cannot come to an agreement with Cavil, then Flashpoint will be released sometime next year, should Ezra Miller not appear in court before then. -
The "Beautiful Madness" of Hero System
Scott Ruggels replied to fdw3773's topic in General Roleplaying
That is a nice sheet, but the text is a bit small. I still like the old 4th edition 3 column sheet, but this isn't bad, especially for a single sided sheet. -
How close are you guys to getting this thing into PDF or Print?
-
yeah, I pretty much ignore all sports as well.

None of this was English?

Depends on the edition?

Does anyone still use the Fourth Edition of Champions?
Scott Ruggels replied to Mark Rand's topic in Champions
When Karl Rigney was running his epic PBM, most turns were written out, but any combat was organized to occur at conventions. The combats were fairly epic. One time, what was supposed to be a big combat, instead turned into a philosophical discussion in the dark between two stealthed characters. But running a combat in PBM doesn’t work all that well. You kind of need some sort of real time solution, due to the complexity of Champions combat. Even if it’s just Discord. -
This Game Master made mimics into a true Carpenteresque horror.

Building a Medieval Castle from Scratch, using Simple tools
Scott Ruggels replied to Scott Ruggels's topic in Fantasy Hero
It would have to be general labor, as the smiths, the masons, and carpenters are skilled trades and would have to be paid to leave the business in the larger towns and cities. -
Based in San Francisco? Most of the companies in and around San Francisco these days are internet based, biotechnology, or finance, though with a jump in state taxes, the HQs are one by one moving out of state. Most defense contractors are in Southern California these days. The soft on crime/defund the police city prosecutor has been turned out by the voters last June, but the city is still a bit lawless. The failed theory of restorative Justice has yet to be replaced. The big issues were formerly, anger of city residents at tech companies pushing up rents. Now it’s the current lawlessness, and the lack of sanitation. The population of the city is slowly shrinking, as people are moving to areas with lower taxes, and a working criminal Justice system. California proposition 79, reclassified many crimes as misdemeanors, and misdemeanors as nothing. This has resulted in organized groups of shoplifters and flash mob that empty store shelves with no fear of consequences, and the goods showing up to be sold on eBay, or on spread out blankets near Union Square. This has national chains closing most of their stores, and many Mom & Pop businesses. Can’t think of a place more needing someone to break a few limbs in the service of Justice.

Hard Cover Fantasy Hero book question
Scott Ruggels replied to Laser T. Swift's topic in Fantasy Hero
That soft cover is the one I did illos for. That was the original version. Before that was the xeroxed playtest rules. (Also by Steve Petersen). If the Hard back is the same interior as the soft cover, then it was probably a custom job, as I have never heard of a hardback version. However it was common at the time to take soft covers to binderies and have them rebound as hardbacks. This only cost about $60 bucks at the time. Now it is a lot more expensive. -
This is your Grandfather’s Tacticool. Those Nydar sights work decently enough as long as you keep your shadow off the prism.

I remember him in Tron.

Speaking of Cops. My mother recommended "The Wire" (HBOMax), which I had not seen. COntemporary Cop and Criminal Drama, BUT there has been a big change in technology since then. "The Wire" was a court approved set of wire taps in pay phones in and around a set of Baltimore Projects. No one has cel phones and the computers they obtained from the Feds were all Win98 machines, if I remember the OS correctly. I've enjoyed it quite a bit. and we will probably wrap up the first season next Sunday.

Marvel Cinematic Universe, Phase Three and BEYOOOOONND
Scott Ruggels replied to Bazza's topic in Non-Gaming Discussion
Oh he was a notorious penny pincher, but he was also very much an American Patriot, and also talked a lot with Stan Lee, apparently. His choices for Movies for Marvel to make depended on the Character's popularity, and the Toy sales for his toy company, Playmates. -
Marvel Cinematic Universe, Phase Three and BEYOOOOONND
Scott Ruggels replied to Bazza's topic in Non-Gaming Discussion
It's not, but it is close. But I see The Fantastic Four, as an Adventuring Family going up against cosmic unknows, more firmly Science Fiction that oh, say, Thor, or Dr. Strange. Yes they have Superpowers, but it's mostly about the places they go, and the gadgets they use (and the interpersonal friction that almost but not quite edges up along side family dysfunction). The Fantastic Four was my Second Comics love, after the DC War comics.
