  1. Re: Anthropomorphic races Greetings HERO citizens , some great resources for RPGs are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by Palladium , Usagi Yojimbo by Gold Rush Games , and GURPS Bestiary by SJGames . You could also get some great ideas from various Fantasy/SciFi novels . Bryan Jacques - Martin the Warrior , Salamanstrom , Red Wall , etc... Stan Sakai - Usagi Yojimbo . A fantastic black and white comic both simple and elagent . More later ... P.S.: are you aiming at a particular GENRE . Pulp/Noir , CyberPuck/Anime , ???
  2. Re: BATTLETECH HERO : Starting Cash ? How much ? Thanks Hisho , that's what my on Mechwarrior book says , but it looked too small . Good to have confermation . tkdguy and travellerne , thanks for the info and the help . Cheers E.
  3. Re: THE ULTIMATE BRICK -- What Do *You* Want To See? Why thank you for asking Steve . Hmmm let me see . All good suggestions so far and there are a few I think are excellent . QM's Top Ten : #10 "Brick Tricks" ( 101 ways to use your STRENGTH ) . #09 "Psychology of Bricks" #08 "Brick Archetypes" ( Telekinetic , Speedster , etc ... ) . #07 "Anti-Brick Tactics" ( Zero-G , Grappling from behind , etc ... ) . #06 "Society and Bricks" ( we praise strength an we fear it ) . #05 "Various Bricks from Various Genres ( Fantasy/Mythology , Victorian , Pulp , CyberPunk , Star HERO , etc ... ) . #04 "Sample Characters" ( preferably new ones suggested by #5 ) . #03 "Collateral Damage" ( super battles between Bricks examples ) . #02 "Battlefields for Brick ( Maps and suggested battlefields ) . AND #01 "101 Adventure Scenarios" ( Classic Brick Plots and Sub-Plots . King of the Hill , I am the Strongest of them all , etc ... ) . P.S. : A Steve Long and Crew thread on Brick Tricks !!!
  4. Re: New Freebie -- Two-Page Combat Summary I did not even ask and you provide . Heh Steve do yah know what I want next ??? Most excellent dude !!! E.
  5. I am about ready to start my BTTLETECH HERO campaign , but I can not decide how much cash the Player Characters start with ? How much they make a month ? Combat , Trade , and Training Bonuses ... etc ... ??? Please help ! References to existing stuff appreciated . Thanks E.
  6. Re: What have you used Hero for? CHAMPIONS - A long time ago in during my university years a 24 player , 2 GMs , and my first introduction to HERO System . CYBERPUNK/SHADOWRUN - I converted the Shadowrun Characters to HERO System . Campaign ended after 2yrs and the group broke up and moved away . I loved that game . VICTORIAN HORROR - a one shot adventure that is still talked about 6yrs later FANTASY - a converted CONAN campaign setting that just started
  7. I'm almost speechless I really really really like your work . My favourite is the clone of a certain deceased supervillain mastermind of Terror Inc. ( couldn't spell his name ) . Please keep up the great work . Thank you E.
  8. Which R2-D2 Unit is this ? Just curious if you had a movie in mind for this particular unit ? . Where's the Rocket Unit . The Light Saber storage and launch unit , etc ... By the by thanx for the text version . Gotta get my own computer and HD . Cheers
  9. SENGOKU Revised Edition I recently aquired a copy of SENGOKU [ Revised Edition ] and was pleased to find Conversions for the Action! System , HERO , etc ... It's located in the back . Check it out . A great resource for running any Japanese themed campaign or adventure .
  10. Vague memories of something 101 Adventures - the GM's Tool Kit . A set of Random Tables to let the GM randomly roll up the TYPE of adventure , PLOTS , SUB-PLOTS , OPPOSITION , LOCATION , etc ... A lazy GM's guide to adventure design .
  11. Sorry for shouting , but this has been heavily anticipated . When will we see it ? Where will we see it ? and When .. uhm I already said that . SEE much anticipated !!! Hobby , hobby , hobby ... E
  12. Great idea for Multiforms too Even variable multiforms with different powers . A major arcana as the base form ( brick , energy blaster , etc ... ) and the lesser arcana signifying which powers from the Elemental Control or Multipower he could use . Too Cool E.
  13. Planetary I see to remember an issue of Planetary where the crew travelled through various dimensions and met various versions of Batman . It was hilarious seeing how they dealt with the different versions ( Adam West , Dark Knight , JLA , etc ... ) Quote from Jocosta ( female brick and incredibly hard to hurt when one version hurt and knocked her down ) " That hurt ! ... Do it again " ( smiling ) .
  14. I suffered from this for a while and occasionally it pops up now and again . It might have something to do with the fact that half the conversations are on arcane subject like computers , systems , programs , etc ... In turn I guess they get bored when I talk shop with the the justice system , the courts , law enforcement , etc , etc ... We all have different outside interests , but gaming is what brought us together .
  15. Thanks Midhir That's exactly what I'm looking for . Thanks E.
  16. TANGETS This one drives me up the wall . I become guilty of it my self when bored , but when GMing I'm able to enforce some discipline . Sounds crazy I know having disipline in a role playing game which is for fun . I HATE TANGENTS !!! . It get the blood pumping just typing about it . Players who insist on breaking the genre Player who insist on interrupting the GM ( also one I'm guilty of when bored ) GM's who don't enforce discipline . Even minor things like asking the offending Player to stick to the game . ( TANGENTS !!! ) Players who borrow anther Player's dice , pencils , etc... Player's who argue with a GM's ruling . Player's who take offense when their Character suffers some fate ( death , ambush , bad NPC reaction ) Way to serious by far . Player's who refuse to accept a GM or another Players help with his Character of the Rules ( When he desparately needs it or refuses to learn the rules ) . Player's who wine , complain , but never GM . Just my 2 cents E . P.S. : Thanks , that was theraputic venting
  17. UNTIL : DoF Review Following VIPER : CotS , this book was the most anticipated book for my gaming group . UNTIL had never really had the spot light before and now they got it . In spades . The Cover Art wasn't on par with the VIPER sourcebook , but I like the continuation on a theme . I also agree with my esteemed colleges that the lack of maps left us feeling a little cheated , but only a little . As far as playability is concerned I'm certainly glad SuperHEROes are built on 350pts. , because stepping accross that thin line separating superheroes and supervillians means you may soon have UNITL hunting you . A good carot and stick method for handling some player's characters ( beware ShadowWalker , UNTIL may already be onto you A great sourcebook that is already begining to signs of heavy use . Thanks guys . E.
  18. Oh oh oh , good one . The HERO's Elven Bard critically succeeds in song/spell . The attacking orc hoard spontaneously breaks into an immaculately coreographed rendition of RIVER DANCE !!! . [ GM presses play on CD player ] oh the joy , the groans , the laughter . Micheal "Skull Crusher" Flatley - Orc warlord
  19. Action Poses Are their any action Poses for those Animated Series out lines ??? .
  20. Well met , fellow HEROfiles . I am in need of you assistance . Has anyone created or know of a really good list of Herbs used in the Fantasy Genre ???
  21. Heh Susano Don't leave out South East Asia . Thousands of Islands and each with their own versions of Monsters , Spirits , and Demons . Check out some GURPS Books . GURPS Japan GURPS China GURPS Faerie GURPS Spirits GURPS India GURPS Russia
  22. Shane Gooseman was the MAN Hello Mark , check out this link . I found it by doing a Google Images Search for Galaxy Rangers . Loved that show as a kid . http://www.80scartoons.net/toons/galaxyrangers.html
  23. DemonTech Hello Herophiles , with reguards to technology I must lean towards the non-High Tech Weapons , But for asthetic reasons . A Demon agent uses Common Firearms and Melee Weapons because they create fear , pain , and terror . There is nothing clean and noble about them . They have been with use for hundreds or thousands of years and may well be imprinted deeply in human memory . The horrors they have left will more than make up for their lack of SPX . Alternatively agents could be equipped with enchanted weapons or ammo . ( ex ; A Demon bullet the causes the victum to bleed and doesn't or slowly drains his soul or allows a demon to take possession ) . As for defenses go a different route . An agent blessed by a morbane recieves the protections of the Demons of War , etc ... etc ... It's surprising how little gamers view a knife as a threat . In Canada Police procedure when confronting a suspect brandishing a knife is to shoot to kill if he gets within 15' . Even VIPER's Knife weilding agents are not to be ignored . just my two bits
  24. GURPS Sourcebooks and Fan Conversions Hello Herophiles , I am a Fan of GURPS and their Sourcebooks . Their Fan base produces more Conversions than even HERO . The comeback of HERO System and the quality of their work has changed that . I am a born again HEROphile and I'm look forward to all future releases .
