  1. Re: Teleporting -- need a better name for it. We prefer the term "gallivanting."
  2. Re: Post-Apocalyptic Hero -- What Do *You* Want To See? Howabout one where all Normals die, leaving ONLY the supers?
  3. Re: Teleporting -- need a better name for it. Gating.
  4. Re: Teleporting -- need a better name for it. Plane-stepping, Shadow-walking, Nether-travel, Following The Paths That Man Must Not Follow.
  5. Re: "Neat" Pictures Looks like God forgot to finish texturizing his fractal landscape there, Susano.
  6. Re: House Rules Thunderdome - post yours here I've thought about using current Endurance as a tie-breaker instead, which sounds kind of fun, and might lead to some interesting strategies, but is more variable than I like.
  7. Re: Deep holes on Mars Nah... It's where the Giant Ants and the Spice Worms live.
  8. Re: Post-Apocalyptic Hero -- What Do *You* Want To See? How about some retroactive post-apoc campaigns, like "the aliens that built the pyramids" finally coming back and finding the planet overrun by human slaves.
  9. Re: Post-Apocalyptic Hero -- What Do *You* Want To See? Some mention of a "Saturday morning cartoon" genre. Thundarr, He-Man, Thundercats, etc. How to run a light-hearted game in the ruins of an advanced civilization.
  10. Re: "Neat" Pictures No, eating the unicycle made it tired. Eating the bicycle made it two tired.
  11. Re: Something That Makes You Go 'Hmmm...' Hey, it's the manic suppressive!
  12. Re: House Rules Thunderdome - post yours here Mine: I don't like initiative roll-offs, so DEX/SPD ties are determined by INT (the quickest thinker should go first), and then by COM (the "action movie camera" focuses on the best looking character first). Skills are available for 2 points at a 9- (for those wishing to slowly buy up their familiarities), and at this level can have Levels applied. -- Ooh, that's useful. So if I have a 60-point Reserve that can only hold 30-point Powers, my Control Cost would only be 15. So essentially, every 1" of Stretching that you have gives you a +1 to a Contortionist Skill Roll?
  13. Re: Amalgam Universe Campaign Back when the Amalgam idea first came out, I really wanted to see: Quark (Atom + Hulk): The madder Quark gets, the smaller Quark gets!
  14. Re: Need a name for a section Allies Unlimited, Enemies Unlimited, and...? Those Unaffiliated
  15. Re: Regrettable Disads Lately, I've been handling my "Weirdness Magnet" characters with this: Hunted: Weirdness 8- (Less Pow, NCI, Mildly Punish, PC is Easy [for "weirdness"] to Find)
  16. Re: Other Odd Twists In the television show inspired by #6, the doctor played by Hugh Laurie contracted lycanthropy himself, and became the first known case of a were-house.
  17. Re: Hero Magazines Good catch. Haymaker went up to issue 44, I think, and ended I think around 2005.
  18. Re: Hero Magazines HEROzine went to around 17 issue, I think. Last one was probably in '98 or so. The Clobberin' Times went up to, oh, 60 or 70 issues and stopped around the same time. But recently came back to life at http://www.forteuniverse.com/cto as the Clobberin' Times Online.
  19. Re: The Algernon Files IN COLOR RedM, the Fires of War will follow shortly.
  20. The Algernon Files (see here for more information) is now available in print in full color! You can buy a copy for $67.95 here. Pricey, yes, but pretty. The normal black and white edition still goes for $37.95.
  21. Re: Strange "UFO" It looks like a food processor from space! I, for one, welcome our nutritious overlords.
  22. Re: Power Question BOECV lets you choose between the normal defense and Mental Defense.
  23. Re: My take on a 350 point Green Lantern type. I like the idea of the force bubble as a Vehicle.
  24. Re: Need a Name for a Temporal Prison Ex Temporaneum.
  25. Re: The Things That I've Learned Facing Bricks To be extra mean, try Suppress END 12d6. If they have some Power Def, they still won't have enough to stop it all. If you can drop their END negative, they take 1d6 of STUN for every 2 below zero. At an average of 42 points, that comes to 84 STUN! Even a 60 END Brick with 5 Power Def would end up taking an average of 20 STUN damage. Not to mention their 6 END punch will do 3d6 more damage to themselves in the meantime. When the Suppress stops, the END comes back, but not the STUN lost as a result.
