  1. I could see Alfred Nobel instead of setting up a system of prizes in penance for inventing dynamite instead funding mystery men to fight evil wherever it is found. And regardless of governments and their laws. He was effectively a multi-millionaire businessman (in today's dollars) who outright owned multiple businesses (including dozens of munitions factories) and had 355 patents for various inventions.
  2. You can just do "Army in a can" summons. Give each summoned creature a multipower with one of the slots as Summon that triggers "when the creature himself is summoned". And that second newly summoned creature has a multipower with a Summon that triggers "when the creature himself is summoned". And the third newly summoned creature has a multipower with a Summon that triggers "when the creature himself is summoned". And so on and so on and so on.... You get a ridiculous number of creatures of various power levels very, very fast. (Someone with a better head for numbers than I can figure out an equation to determine how many "generations" that would continue before the summoned creature wouldn't have enough points to buy a Summon power.) And some of them the next turn may decide to increase their numbers rather than do whatever else. Offhand, that doesn't seem underpowered. (OMG, I may have just discovered the origin story of Tribbles!)
  3. Disenfranchising: it's not just about keeping Democrats from having a say anymore. Dirty tricks and infighting among the College Republicans. https://www.nationalreview.com/news/the-kids-are-not-alright-chaos-at-the-college-republican-national-committee/
  4. The commanding general of Fort Rucker has announced that the Alabama military base will require service members not wearing face masks "to show proof of vaccination" while on duty to combat rising COVID-19 cases. https://news.yahoo.com/alabama-military-1st-u-order-054315608.html
  5. If you bought the Sticky advantage for (+1/2), if you ever vaccinated one, they'd spread it to the rest.
  6. Multiform is a standard power now so you can put it inside power frameworks. So even though it's less effective than it once was, it's also much cheaper than it has ever been. If you give multiforms more points, you'd probably have to switch it back to being a special power. I'm not sure I'm willing to make that trade.
  7. I would suggest this except stipulate that Regeneration never gives you additional END or STUN since those two are already cheap and already have absurdly fast recovery rates compared to other stats. That would stop any abuse from regenerating per phase. Have the player lay out the order in which stats will Regenerate if Drained such as STR first, CON second, BODY third, etc. when he buys the power. If he wants that order to be variable, he should buy a Variable Effect advantage. Regeneration of limbs will only happen while BODY is being Regenerated or while at full BODY as the case may be.
  8. That's an awesome leak from their point of view. It helps destabilize the US regardless of whether or not it's true. And it's very unlikely that there would be any further consequences from the US government over the matter.
  9. OMG, my months long torment is finally over! My laptop suddenly figured out that it wasn't a cell phone and started displaying the site normally rather than displaying the mobile version of this website. I'd cut back my time dramatically on the site just because it's been such a pain in the butt to use. Free at last! Free at last!
  10. I believe those would properly be categorized as crocodile tears.
  11. You could buy it as Running - Usable while asleep (+1/2) Uncontrolled (+1/2)
  12. There was a damned fine book that I remember reading called The Russians, IIRC. It was the account of a New York Times reporter who lived in Russia for like 10 years through the 70's giving mostly his experiences of the day to day lives of ordinary Russians.
  13. I like watching Olympic curling. Not expecting it during the Tokyo Games, however.
  14. Really enjoying the new Leverage: Redemption series.
  15. I watch the Home Run Derby when I can. But I'm going to be at home this year and don't have access to sports channels there.
  16. You could require someone to pitch. It's much harder to require them to pitch well. Drop 3-4 mph off of the fastball and accidentally throw in the sweet spot rather than painting the corners.
  17. 1) Universal Rejection (Champions) Crisp clean take on an origin story. Sure "hero from a parallel reality" has been done before but what origin hasn't? About the only pitfall to avoid is that the hero would naturally know almost every Secret ID and general backstory on most every hero and villain. But that can be taken care of with a little cooperation between the player and the GM. And since I'm the player, I know the player will cooperate. 2) Wrongfully Convicted, Divinely Conscripted (Champions) I've generally avoided the "in trouble with the police" backgrounds outside of Dark Champions. Roleplaying the whole fresh start thing would be interesting especially since the PC would be opinionated about the police, justice system, and prisons. 3) Turncape: The Defectors (Cold War period Champions) I like this concept but in the late 70's and early 80's, I took an interest in reading about what daily life was like for Soviet citizens. Considering any likely GM wasn't even alive when there was a USSR, I'd have to expect that the GM would drive me (more) nuts by either glossing over the very real hardships or by cranking them up to ridiculous levels. 4) The Price of Dreams (Teen Champions) With a great GM, this could be a great campaign. With a not-great GM, I might not make it through the first play session. Sounds like the campaign is intended as a (no-so) Dirty Dozen with the background of the dislocation experienced by immigrants coming into the US and how the US treats immigrants in general. That's a hot topic with me. I'd doubt the ability of a GM to treat it with the kid gloves necessary to keep from making me ticked off at him. And I'm certain that the government handler NPC's would tick me off to no end, as both player and PC. I'd be likely, in character, to make sure either the supervillains got them or to drop them off in the middle of the Atlantic then blame the supervillain of the week. And if the government seemed likely to catch on and punish my family, we could make the campaign about how my PC turns the US into a dysfunctional wasteland. I've done enough IRL wargaming against terror threats that I'm pretty sure I could figure out targeting order to maximize disruption.
  18. Personally, I wear slippers because they keep me from falling over. What the hell kind of slippers do you wear?
  19. Elixir of Hearth - drink this and your next attempt to start a campfire or hearth works regardless of conditions. Oil of Sharpness - apply this and your clothing looks at its best (treat as one level of Striking Appearance). Oil of Slipperiness - applied to your bare feet, they are protected as if you were wearing slippers. Applied to your hands, they are protected as if wearing light cotton gloves. Filter of Love - when used on someone who is in love, it drains that love out into a potion bottle. The contents of that bottle can then be used as a love potion. Potion of Animal Crackers - drink this and the next animal you touch becomes infected with madness. This is typically used for assassination attempts where you touch someone else's riding animal or farm animal. Potion of Clear Voyages - Clouds clear and your vessel becomes becalmed. Usually used to sabotage someone else's voyage. Most captains will execute anyone found sneaking this potion aboard his ship. Potion of Limbing - drink this and you can chop wood with your bare hands. Potion of Cloud Giant Strength - drink this and you become immensely strong. Has the side effect of making you Desolid. Potion of Diminutrition - drink this and you stop getting nourishment from eating food or drinking beverages. Usually used against enemies but sometimes used as a weight loss supplement. Potion of Fir Breath - drink this and your breath smells fresh like a northern forest. Potion of Flying - drink this and your accuracy and damage increase dramatically. But only against flies. Potion of More Gaseous Form - drink this and you fart uncontrollably. (Treat as negative Striking Appearance). Potion of Greater Heeling - drink this and Mind Control animals. The only command usable is to "Heel". Potion of Invisibility - when put into a bottle, this potion makes both itself and the bottle invisible. (No other effects.) Potion of Mine Reading - drink this and touch the walls of a mine in order to get an idea of its general layout. This will reveal secret rooms but not where the doors to them are. Potion of Resistance - drink this and become stubborn and resistant to accept any idea which you didn't come up with yourself. Potion of Speed - drink this to elevate your mood, increase alertness, increase concentration and energy if your are fatigued, and reduce your appetite. Repeated use of this potion can become habit forming.
  20. Potion of Week Healing - This potion heals one BODY per week.
  21. Oil of De-Squeaking - You apply this oil on some mechanical device which is squeaking and it stops squeaking. It's particularly popular to apply this item to door hinges and to wheels.
  22. That's funny, I could have sworn that you saw my last post two or three times....
