  1. The other negative is that you create a lot more paperwork for yourself. Who wants that?
  2. I'm in the camp of adjustment powers needing to be against specific SFX. Anything else leads to my brain hurting.
  3. You write awesome techno-babble. Love it!
  4. If I had to guess I'd say that the stereotypical pirate accent comes down to Long John Silver. And he was, I'm pretty sure, a West Country fella.
  5. Oh yeah, I know. I know. Terrible songs both.
  6. "Boiy-yuld" is close to how we say it in Oz.
  7. I knew a young lady from Georgia once. Gosh she had a lovely accent. Sounded warm honey. <sigh>
  8. I worked with a Brummy (Birmingham) lady for about 3 years. I thought her accent was lovely. Granted it was a milder version of it but still lovely.
  9. Jonathon Ross maybe? The guy has a pretty noticeable lisp.
  10. Maybe it's just me, but space nazis on the moon has been a thing in my gaming circle for years. I assumed it was the same for everyone. My bad.
  11. I did draw up Igoo and Gloop & Gleep a couple a years back. Threw them into a villain group (not very villainous villains, much like GRAB from the CU.) No one knew who they were. Even when I showed them the art.
  12. We haven't had original in something like 3000 years. Story telling is all about an individual artist's take on things.
  13. I'm hard pressed rating Coen Brothers movies - they're all good. (But I must admit to not having seen Bridge of Spies, No Country, or Surburbicon.) Hail Caesar was awesome. A wonderful pastiche love letter to 50's Hollywood.
  14. The classic Devil's Advocate plot is: Use it to power a big, reality warping spell that transforms campaign city to its mediaeval equivalent. The Indian guy, whose name escapes me at the moment, could use it for something a bit more India specific. Basically the guy is all about reinstating the caste system in all it's mediaeval glory - there's plenty of Hindu nationalists who would welcome him. He might try to overthrow the government and replace Modi. (Truth is, Modi is pretty Hindu nationalist himself and might welcome the guy as an ally to install a totalitarian regime, but we drift into real world politics at this point so I'll stop.) Gyre would use the wand to do something... weird. How about building a huge multi-dimensional maze, all inter-locking, shining portals and strange geometries. Which might be fine and even beautiful if done in an empty desert somewhere, but she dropped it in the middle of campaign city in the middle of a busy work day. Now hundreds or thousands of people are lost and wandering in an effectively infinite maze. And maybe some things from elsewhere are wandering through to here. Vlisindra (something like that, 🤔) might be interested in returning to Svartlheim and taking over her old clan. Which might kick off a conflict that spills over into our dimension. That , or just playing a HUGE practical joke on the world. She is an illusionist and trickster type after all. Golem (again, not sure if that's the right name) is kinda dull and one dimensional. Which is fine, I think every villain group should have a member who's just kinda there. He'd use it to make a bigger golem. Or how about something controversial - they use it to put out the fires in the Amazon and then kick out all the governments and mega-corps. Then they start re-growing the rain forest.
  15. Okay, I wasn't sold on Space Nazis on the Moon at first, just because they've been overdone. (I voted for doomsday cultists.) But I've been brought around by the awesome suggestions. <applause>
  16. From VIPER: Coils of the Serpent we have: Boa Constrictor Diamondback Draconis Freon Halfjack Oculon Ripper Sidewinder Viperia Viper X
  17. I completely agree. I'm surprised you haven't mentioned "I've Got a Brand New Combine Harvester" yet.
  18. One question: Chicago is home to skycrappers. What is a skycrapper? They sound... unpleasant. I'd just like to point out that a hollow earth that is really a giant computer, with the occasional, hidden alien hitchhiker linving among humankind is a great tradition that should be memorialized and is a much better option than snakemen.
  19. I've not read the silver age space age stuff. But I get the idea that the characters are all actually quite powerful. Isn't Superboy one of the... um, I don't know the team name. But they get name dropped on the forum quite regularly... I'm certain someone with a better knowledge of Silver Age DC will chime in with the correct name of the silver age, teen, space, team I am thinking of. There's also Invincible. Pretty powerful teen there. I guess my point is they can be powerful. At the very least they need some way of getting around the galaxy in a hurry and surviving in space. Okay, not that expensive in points but these things add up. Maybe not as powerful as the full on Galactic Heroes, but more powerful than the level suggested in Teen Heroes. I gotta say I think the defining point of teen heroes is not the power level. It's the drama. Teen drama revolves around teen issues. Dating. Mom and Dad just don't understand you (Cue Lumpy Space Princess: " My parents are horrible idiots.") School is stressful. Peer Pressure. ("Be a hero, say "No!" to Pompalphoosian Pleasure Pops.") It could be funny to be the most powerful hero in the galaxy, but still be running scared of the school principal because you don't want to get banned from Prom.
  20. I always thought Multiple Attacks had to be used on multiple targets... I guess this is not the case.
  21. I dunno. I reckon lawyers would give anyone indigestion.
