Asperion got a reaction from Christopher R Taylor in Regenerating Characteristics Other than BODY
The way I would do this would be to houserule a change with regen. This would be Regen (Ability) where ability is the characteristic or power that gets regenerated according to regen rules. Otherwise there will be no other changes to the regen power.

Asperion got a reaction from tkdguy in A Thread For Random RPG Musings
I have problems with this chart. According to it, my gm style is very rules-based. However, my actual belief is that rules should enhance the enjoyment of everyone's experience, not be the dictator of everything. As a result, I have no problem with modifying or replacing troublesome rules if they are getting in the way of our game. If that makes me a bad gm, then I will continue to operate in this way since players seem to prefer it that way.

Asperion got a reaction from Khymeria in Best Option for Drama?
This might be a classic, but like it. Continue on with your superhero team like normal. Every week introduce some glitch that someone can notice. At first it will be small but over time they will become larger and more noticeable. These glitches will be inconsistent with the program and how they view reality, not any actual feature of the program that anyone can detect or fix. Over time, they will decide that there is a problem and attempt to "correct " it.

Asperion got a reaction from Steve in Dealing with the undead
Most of these were done by various religious groups, especially the Roman Catholic Church, at different times. Unmarked graves supposedly were to make the soul get lost in the afterlife and be trapped in Pergitory forever, never to get to Heaven, but then at that time they believed that the only way into Heaven was through cleansing bought in the last moments of life, so only the wealthy could afford to get there.

Going along with this concept, I have played with the idea that some native tribe from the Americas were able to develop a real power during the colonial era. As a result, today the U.S.A. is divided into the eastern portion that is European and the western portion that is the native country. Both have a kind of cold war that actually works into both of their benefit.

Asperion got a reaction from Ninja-Bear in Norse style / GoW Ragnorak game
One powerful source, although it's not related to gaming, is looking for the YouTube channel for Jackson Crawford. He has MANY hours devoted to this subject. That's effectively what the entire channel is about - Norse belief systems, lifestyle, religion, history, etc.

Asperion got a reaction from Khymeria in THE APOCALYPSE!!!!
I asked this because recently I got thinking about the different types of games people play - western, post apocalyptic, fantasy, super, scifi, different punk's, etc. However, there seems to be a large void that concerns the apocalyptic era. As with any period of transition, there are many stories that can be told about it. Not just as remberance of times past, but when it is actually occurring. So I asked questions to make a good campaign during such a time.

This works out the best. Copy the way that real birds operate and very little can go wrong, especially when the problems get ironed out.

Asperion got a reaction from Khymeria in Let's Fight!
Darkside is attempting to make another push for gaining absolute mastery over everything. He has been able to get the JL out of the way (easier than he expected) and now onto the next stage. Here he discovered someone that he didn't expect.
Queen Beryl was busy planning her next move against those Guardians when suddenly a mysterious portal opens outside her realm. Wondering who would make such an affront into her territory, she (with some minions) goes to investigate. At this point, she finds a strange guy who seems to be made of something unusual. Beryl attempts to tell him to leave, only to have him act as though she is beneath him. Insulted by this, she lashes out with several minor attacks to tell him to leave.
Right after Darkside exited his portal, he realized that he ended up someplace other than where he ment to. Not long afterward, a mysterious woman with red hair leading several others approached him demanding that he leave. Darkside being who he is (unusual for him) simply chose to ignore her threats until she lashed out with some attacks that were designed to get his attention. She wants attention, she will have it and gives her a low powered Omega Blast (at least low powered for the likes of Superman).
Shortly after Beryl used her attention grabbing attacks, this stranger hit her with some strange blast from his eyes that were of the nature that she had never felt before. Beryl responded by having her minions attacking this stranger (he swatted them aside like they were flies) and turned his attention to Beryl. After that, he decided to attack Beryl.
Getting tired of this back and forth, Darkseid (especially after she sent her minions for the slaughter), had decided to end things finally. He went for her at a speed that seemed to surprise her and hit her with his high strength that she was not able to strike back on until she was at least unconscious if not dead.

Asperion got a reaction from BarretWallace in Wizards of the Coast Announces One D&D
It seems as though they are going down the same road that video games went down. Difference is that there's more companies making those games and they did it over a period of several years, not all at one time. Even in video games, if they pulled the trick WOTC did, players would have protested, possibly to the point of not buying the product. Let's see what happens to WOTC now with both buyers and developers. Those developers are where they make the majority of their products, hence the greatest portion of their sales and income.

Asperion got a reaction from Scott Ruggels in Is Armor Properly Designed in Fantasy Games?
The only thing that has changed over time is the nature of who is doing the moving. In the past it was wagon trains that would transport those supplies around, now it's professional moving companies. Those trains followed the military as they traveled and took their pay in the form of housing, food, protection, straight pay, and other forms. Moving companies today are strictly paid a flat rate for their efforts. When they get the person (or what they are paid for) they will leave until they obtain a new contract. In more remote locations, the personnel might actually be required to move themselves.
