Maybe not a gun as such, but a reference for guns.

It depends on the character. They didn't lose them much, but they were at least moderately competent without them.

I've been fiddling around with my copy. The good news is that my first attempt at semi-randomly creating a character required only minor tweaking to bring it in at 400 points. The bad news is that it didn't result in a viable character (weak defenses, limited mobility, questionable CV). Building a second version helped some, but it required a lot more fiddling, and it still has a low CV.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the cards are some help, but they might work best if you follow their guidelines (I wasn't).

IndianaJoe3 reacted to Hugh Neilson in Missing Arm as a DF not Physical Complication
Actually not taking the complication on the basis that the complication is not to impede the character in-game is a means by which players define their characters.  From 6e v1 p 414

This player is sending a message to the GM that the only aspect of this character's missing limb which should arise in-game is that he is recognizable.  He is not physically impeded.  His choice of a DF for this complication is perfectly legitimate within the game context, and this is a means by which the player can define his character.

A further thought - the "one armed man who only looks distinctive, but can achieve anything a two-armed man could do" can be viewed as having the Complication "only has one arm" and having spent the points from that complication on "penalty skill levels - offset all penalties that would apply for having only one arm".  This is an extension of the logic cited a few times above of buying extra STR only to offset the STR reduction for a one-armed grab.

Another approach is "only has one arm" offset by "extra limbs" (defined as using other parts of his body to offset the missing arm, such that he effectively does have two arms).  "Missing a limb" offset by "extra limbs" is an example specifically provided in the 6e rules (legs in that case) of a complication which should not be allowed.  The combination of the power and the complication offset each other, so there should neither be a power purchased nor a complication obtained.  The two leave the character exactly as capable as a baseline character - no more, and no less - so there is no impact on character points.

The canonical way to do this is with a Transform (Negative Space Wedgie into Swords). However, unless the character is routinely making swords for distribution, I'd treat the leftover swords as a special effect.

Pathfinder is not D&D, but they're related closely enough to make any relationship between them downright creepy.

Things that an Extra Limb is good for:
Grabbing and Holding multiple opponents Using 2-handed weapons and a shield Manipulating more than 2 objects at a time Surprise HtH combat maneuvers Cheating at cards Also, in 6e (and perhaps as early as 4e), the cost is 5 points.

The last supers game I ran, I ruled that Pushing cost Long-Term Endurance. The players really thought hard about pushing, and, when they did push, it felt appropriately heroic.

IndianaJoe3 got a reaction from mallet in What would you like to see HERO games produce next?
I voted for, "Setting Book" because Hero really doesn't have one. The Champions Universe is owned by Cryptic (or whoever bought them). A new setting would also be new material, which is more likely to sell to Hero's existing customer base than a reprint of 6e.

What I'd really like to see is for Hero Games to set up a Patreon project similar to what Evil Hat did for FATE. Hero fans chip in a few bucks a month, Hero produces a steady stream of new material, and Hero Games starts looking like a going concern again. (Of course, there's probably some reason why they aren't doing this already, but I am not privy to their reasons.)

This sounds like a good idea. If you look at The Ultimate Base you can design a small, highly limited base in your cheeks.

You could also also created a pocket dimension with Extra Dimensional Movement and Stretching (think: bag of holding), with many limitations related to its size, the small mouth opening, and detectable in “this” dimension (big fat cheeks).

IndianaJoe3 got a reaction from novi in Philosophy of Complications: Code vs Killing
Some cops have a CvK - they go out of their way, putting themselves at risk, to avoid killing suspects. Other cops don't, but that only means they're willing to use deadly force when warranted (or the player doesn't want the issue to come up). Some cops have, "Judge, Jury, and Executioner" (and probably some other odious Psych Comps as well).

I don't like systems that give too much importance to critical hits. That said, letting players reroll a poor damage roll on a, "crit" does add fun to the game.

It's only a, "fishing expedition" if they run out of evidence and keep looking. The Benghazi hearings were clearly one (well, after the first, anyway). The Kavanaugh investigation barely got started and wasn't allowed to continue. It's not a fishing expedition, it's part of the coverup.
