  1. Re: Susano vs Marvel characters Dark Phoenix can reduce a planet to that point as well, and feed off the energy to become stronger. It’s been a while since I read it, but when Jean was the Dark Phoenix didn’t she basically eat a star and doom all life in that particular solar system?
  2. Re: Immunity to Electric Attacks doh'! I always forget how different Suppress is from Drain. Sorry. Continuous is completely not needed. I’ll stick with Persistent though. Someone who take damage from something when unconscious isn’t immune to it, IMO.
  3. Re: Thor's Hammer, Mjöllnir Kind of random, but there was an issue of Hulk when “Professor Hulk” (Banner’s brain in Hulk’s body, but it was really a separate personality all along, yadda, yadda…) took Thor’s hammer away but couldn’t move it. Thor was currently red haired and bearded (I only have the one issue, so I’m not sure if he had manifested as an old Viking version of himself or what) and Hulk didn’t recognize him. The scene went something like this (I’m paraphrasing): Hulk: “You can’t be the real Thor, because if you were I couldn’t to THIS!” Hulk grabs Thor’s hammer by the head and rips it out of his grasp. It immediately slams to the ground so fast and hard that Hulk is doubled over with half of his huge fist under it. Hulk: (In a raspy whisper) “I think that broke my fingers…” My point in relating all this? If Hulk hadn’t trapped himself with the hammer, he could have simply kept Thor away from it and deprived Thor of half his power, despite not being able to move or use the hammer himself.
  4. Re: Immunity to Electric Attacks You need to add Persistent or they become more vulnerable to Electricity while unconscious, Continuous (or else you have to actively “use” the suppress), and possibly Uncontrolled. Plus, wouldn’t you technically be suppressing the power of anyone within HtH range, not the powers that come into your hex?
  5. Re: Immunity to Electric Attacks Well said Nexus. I completely agree.
  6. Re: A Time Traveling Character He avoids getting hit?
  7. Some questions about Clinging. I have some ideas for a character, so I'll post some other thoughts, and probably more questions, later... I was playing around in HD and ended up looking at Clinging and what Modifiers could be added to it. This lead to some questions about how certain Advantages would work and what some things can or cannot do. Persistent: Powers with the Persistent Advantage ‘stay “turned on” even if the character is unconscious.’ Does this mean if a character with Persistent Clinging is knocked out while clinging to a wall/object, will they remain clinging to it? Does Clinging require effort/conscious control? If it does require conscious control, then how would I model the ability of someone who does stick to things, even when unconscious? Uncontrolled: Hand in hand with the last question. ‘An Uncontrolled power can maintain itself without conscious thought from its user.’ With Uncontrolled Clinging, could a character knocked into a wall/ceiling (or thrown at/to one by an opponent/teammate) simply stick to it, or do they need do something, even though it’s ‘Uncontrolled”? If the answer to “will a character with Persistent Clinging stick to something when knocked out?” was “no”, then what if it is Persistent and Uncontrolled? Other thoughts/questions: Can a character with Persistent, Uncontrolled Clinging use Clinging on the ground? That may sound like a pointless question, but remember, Clinging comes with some Knockback Resistance built in. Even with Clinging it takes 2” of movement to move 1” vertically (just like leaping). If you want to add extra running, only for calculating running “up”, how much is that limit worth? I was thinking -1. How does Clinging affect “crawling on the ceiling”? Should the fact that you are hanging upside down mean you only get 1” for ever 2” of movement, even though you are not going “up”?
  8. Re: Character regrets And I bet you did it "your way" too, huh?
  9. Re: What does 'Magic' mean to you? LOL, gotchya. Thanks.
  10. Re: superuseless superpowers Maybe add a Limitation: Only At Night? Otherwise in two weeks you die, unless you have someone to serve you so you don't dehydrate/starve to death...
  11. Re: Which is better for a beginner: Champions or Dark Champions? First, for everyone suggesting Sidekick, I agree it’s great, but they already have the rules. In fact, the OP said:
  12. Re: Help: Hey Diddle Dillinger @Karma: Awesome.
  13. Re: Entangles that Hurt But using Force Wall would allow the use of all powers to escape, even Foci or ones with Gestures or Restrainable. You lose part of the effect of Entangle. And FW won't allow you to attack the character.
  14. Re: What does 'Magic' mean to you? That's Greek to me (so to speak). I usually enjoy the Palindromedary's words of wisdom.
  15. Re: Egg Spawn What about Resurrection, Extra Time?
  16. Re: When he bleeds, he bleeds vermin Sean...that's scary...
  17. Re: Entangles that Hurt I agree, at best it is iffy, at worst it’s plain out against the rules (although I don’t think it is truly addressed in RAW). I was just trying to emphasize that the build didn’t give the target a benefit.
  18. Re: How many different ways to mitigate damage? <boredom caution: metagaming be here> The classic "Glass Cannon", "Egg with a Sledge Hammer", etc.
  19. Re: Worth a thousand words? nexus: I saw the pics, but didn't get time to suggest anything before they were removed. Sorry there was a hassle, better luck with your next experiment.
  20. Re: Useless Hero Facts Okay, sounds good so far. Now how can we add Transform?
  21. Re: Attacks based on Presence (a.k.a. "The Underdog Effect") I think the point is he wants to do both sides at once, with different effects.
  22. Re: Teleporter - Only I get what you’re trying to do, and it looks like you’re changing how you’re going to do it anyway, but just so you know, having Absorb does not protect you from the damage. I mean, even if Absorb could be applied to Side Effects, taking 1d6 NND damage each time you port when that is your characters main/only shtick, you would probably render yourself unconscious on the way to the battle.
