  1. And yet many people on this very forum use Hero exclusively for non-supers with less than what you say should be average...
  2. I think the OP is confusing the term "points" with "corners".
  3. It is not difficult. You can find a half dozen examples of such powers on this very website. What it is is expensive. That's not the same as difficult.
  4. My new roommate is a Guy Ritchie fan so we recently watched "Snatch" and "RocknRolla". "Go" which feels a bit like an American decided to take a rejected Guy Ritchie script and turn it into a teen movie. Had some pretty funny moments, but overall nothing spectacular. "Monsters vs Aliens" which isn't one of Dreamworks' best, but is better than I remembered and has a pretty impressive cast.
  5. Well, here's his powers and abilities: Powers Physical Abilities Combat Skills Techniques and Moves
  6. Let's try this again. Does anyone have a copy of the 6E errata that they wouldn't mind posting? I had it saved as a word document at one point, but that was on the work computer and long gone and I don't know if I still have my printed hard copy.
  7. So was the errata file lost or is there some reason for not just putting it back up?
  8. "Player and avatar is one in the same"? Seriously? That's getting into weird "Dark Dungeons" territory if you ask me. Story games, role playing games, and to some extent war games are all related. There are differences, but there is a spectrum, not a definitive line in the sand. No one I've ever talked to would call Savage Worlds a "story game". Hell, it's mechanics were based on a miniatures war game, yet it has Bennies.
  9. She would get points, but less than normal as it takes a special sense to spot it.
  10. This has been discussed before, but it doesn't actually simplify the game or make it more user friendly. Several suggested methods proved to actually make it more complicated to build everything.
  11. The problem is, Balabanto, you think Hero is only good for supers and think that your opinion is "right", even when dealing with issues of preference. While I've only played one Hero game with HAPs, is was not at all like you say "most" groups are. I doubt most groups are remotely like you claim, but I would love to be given evidence to the contrary. I have played a ton of Cinematic Unisystem, Savage Worlds, and Fate (not my favorite), all of which have resource points of some sort (Drama Points, Bennies, Fate Points) and they have always been used strategically. They add a level of strategy in the form of resource management. I think the biggest issue is that you are looking at this backwards. HAPs are optional. Arguing they shouldn't be included because you don't like them is as ridiculous as arguing Hit Locations or Long Term Endurance shouldn't be included because you only play supers and don't use it. Having said that, I am completely against the idea some have put forth of putting more focus on Heroic Action Points. I like them just where they are, an option in the toolbox. I think tying them to Complications is a terrible idea, but there are whole other threads discussing that. EDIT: I have no problem "losing" in a game. But usually when such wording is used it is by those who have an adversarial play style of GM versus Player, and when you compare an RPG to a sport that sounds like what you are endorsing.
  12. 1. I wouldn't go that route. Using UBN instead of UBO and the appropriate amount of Increased Mass/Increased people seems like simply trying to cheat the system to get the same thing for less cost. 2. Personally I think Gate should have been its own Advantage for Teleportation/Extra Dimensional Movement instead of a Limitation coupled with UBO because it is different enough. I think the reason it is considered UBO is that once opened anyone can use it while it remains open, it doesn't rely on the person with the Power granting it to them specifically. I guess I get what you're saying about the other Advantage and Limitation making sense, but it would affect the AP of the ability and I just don't think it's worth adding. 3. I think you would need Megascale on your Range as well as on the Movement Power part of Teleport. If you are using HD it might be simplest to build the UBO part and give it Range as a Naked Advantage rather than try to tack MegaScale on to the same power twice.
  13. By this standard being a min-maxing, argumentative, rules-lawyer is fine for what you yourself call a "social activity", but a mutually agreed upon mechanic which can add resource management as an extra dimension of strategy and which is currently popular and used in literally dozens of systems is not. Yeah, that's totally objective and makes perfect sense. All games (or gamers) that use any type of resource points are obviously having badwrongfun and the GM is supposed try to "win".
  14. It probably didn't have a functioning chain on it. He was just revving the engine. Still, it's kind of too bad he didn't get shot and end up in the Stupid Criminal thread instead...
  15. I suppose it could also be done as a Transform that applies the appropriate template from the Size Chart to the character.
  16. There are a lot of 6E books without blue covers (notably every genre and setting book). It looks like they kept the "The Ultimate Skill" (or whatever the name was) cover from 5E.
  17. Yeah, I didn't mean to imply that it wouldn't work. I just think it is actually more work than simply doing a direct conversion.
  18. Well, you're turning a one step process (Pathfinder to SW) into a two step process (Path to Hero to SW). I'm not sure it's really worth the extra effort. Especially since many Hero Powers don't have direct correlations in Savage.
  19. 3. Yes, Killing Attacks and how they interact with STR.
  20. Or since this thread is specifically about 6E, Champions Powers, which has pretty much everything from both UNTIL Superpowers Database 1 and 2 plus some and is in the edition he is asking about...
  21. One of the guys who used to game with us ran a Weird West game with Savage Worlds that wasn't Deadlands. There were Atlantians, but they were not ocean dwellers. El Dorado was their last great settlement and primary home since their island sank. Adventures included hunting down a Chupacabra, protecting a train from robbery, being part of the Fey's Wild Hunt and chasing the White Stag which was a Jackelope in that incarnation, participating in a poker tournament held by Lord Chance and Lady Luck (and her sister, Miss Fortune), and trying to help a man whose farm land had been half devoured by forest. The last one was one of the best. Turns out due to an issue with the ad's typesetting he thought he had ordered a Greek mail order bride, but in actuality had purchased a Greek Mail Order Dryad. Hilarity ensued.
  22. What Einstein Told His Cook by Robert Wolke. A fun look at both the science involved in cooking and debunking (or confirming) many old wives tales.
  23. Most people find HD much quicker than doing the math by hand, especially if they are new to the system. I suspect you either are very good at juggling numbers in your head (and perhaps not adjusting things much after making a decision), or you are building things that are not allowed by the rules and thus having trouble with HD.
  24. I wouldn't be surprised if my memory was wrong, but considering one post above me where Tom even cited the page he found the rule on...
  25. AP has allowed Teleport to get through "Cannot Escape with Teleport" materials/Entangles since at least 5E (I believe 4E, but am not sure).
