Aiding a Naked Advantage
Can you aid a naked advantage? Can the aid adjust the maximum active points the advantage applies towards? (ex: if Gunner has a 45 act RKA and 30pt naked advantage AP, can Aidalot aid the AP so that he can use the 45 RKA with AP?) Can the aid adjust the naked advantage to increase the effect of a naked advantage? (ex: if Gunner has a 45 act RKA and 45pt naked advantage Area of Effect Radius 4m, can Aidalot aid the AoE Radius such that instead of being 4m Rad, its 8m? Or AP such that its 2xAP?) If the answer is yes to both 2 and 3, can the aid be switched between the two freely?

Proper use of Linked
Team: I have a player who's character is using Linked for multiple powers to his high boosted recovery, which is his Greater power, and this greater power is dependent on Solar Radiation. Reading the rulebook, all of the powers the player has linked are all under the Boosted Recovery's AP, and appear to be w/in the description of rules in this case. Now, here is where I have a questions, from reading the rules. From 6E1-383 A character can only use a power with this Limitation with another power. If he isn’t using the other power (the “greater power”), he can’t use the power with the Linked Limitation (…

Multiple Limited Power Limitations on a Power
Team: I have a character in my campaign who has a Solar radiation-based power, which they get a "boost" of a recovery ability, a well as tying into their other abilities. Now, after discussion, if the person is relatively in a solar system--aka our Solar system, within the Oort cloud to define boundaries--their "Boost" power(s) for recovery and linked other powers work at 100% efficiency. However, if they are outside of the Solar system, but in space w/ plenty of starlight, their ability drops to about 1/2....normally, I would then write a limited power to 1/2 effectiveness in Starlight-only, which I would assign it not the full 1/2 power limita…

Healing
If I use healing to heal a wall, how do I have to buy it? For example, Mighty Man punches a brick wall and destroys a section of it. The Reassembler uses healing on the wall to reassemble it. Does the Reassembler need resurrection on the healing? How about "Can heal limbs"? What if Might Man smashes a car? Is a wheel a limb? Does complete destruction require resurrection?

Trigger activation condition level of discrimination
I know the when the condition for a trigger is met you can't not have the power activate but how discriminatory can a trigger be? Can you have a condition like "when an enemy gets within 6 meters" or "when a non-ally touches me"? Do those work or do you need a separate advantage/limitation to add such a discrimination like how Area of Effect has selective?

Speed in MPH
New aboard here, so forgive me if you've (likely) read this umpteen-times over as it seems like it would have come up before, but I haven't been able to find it yet: how does one determine how fast a character moves in miles per hour?

Damage Negation and unusual NND's
Damage Negation applies to AVAD even if the character lacks the specific defense vs the attack. Since NND is a form of AVAD the character can apply Damage Negation to NND’s. In most cases this is pretty obvious. If the NND is energy beam that can penetrate any defense except a force field than Energy Damage Negation applies. But what about things like a gas attack where the defense is life support? Does this apply and if so is it considered energy or physical.

Can Computers Be Knocked Out?
I'm about to run a new Champions campaign, and one of my new player's had a Character concept that stumped me a little. If a Computer is integrated into a Character (or an Automaton that can be Knocked Out), can the Computer be Knocked Out too? If not, what actions can a Computer take while the Character (or Automaton that can be Knocked Out) they are integrated into is Knocked Out? These are some of the specific cases I am contemplating: If a Computer is built with control over one or more of the Character's Powers, can the Computer still activate or maintain those Powers while the Character is Knocked Out? For example, a high-tech robot with…

Sentient vehicle
I know there are rules for vehicles with computers. However, I want to make a sentient vehicle and it does have the right feel using vehicles rules. Is there any reason or rule that a sentient vehicle could be created using character creation rules?

Stretching
Just to (hopefully) end an argument which is going round and round (and round and round) in the forums where its basically an interpretation of the rules as written. Stretching Does it make the character malleable or does it only serve to lengthen appendages? I.E. Can a person who stretches his arm, snake his arm through a 'S' shaped pipe? Or is he limited to the fact he can only crook his arm with an elbow? Can a person with stretching stretch their neck so that their head is above a wall to take a look around? (or around a corner, through an air vent, etc.) Is the neck considered a limb? Does all this not apply to base stretching? …

Combat Luck - Impenetrable by default ... or not?
As context for discussion: Per 5er p87, Combat Luck was constructed as a Hardened power in the 5er ruleset. Per 5er p115, the definition of a Hardened power indicated it counteracted "the Power Advantages Armor Piercing, Penetrating, and Indirect" in the 5er ruleset. i.e. For 6 CP per level of Combat Luck -- someone received 3 rPD and 3rED that counteracted Armor Piercing, Penetrating, Indirect (while being Luck-Based and Non-Persistent) ... in the 5er ruleset. Fast-forward to 6e, please. As further context for discussion: 6e1 p21, Section 13. Changed Advantages lists Hardened as a changed Advantage. 6e1 p21, Section 1…

Luck Rules
I have a question about the alternate rules for Luck. In the Advanced Player Guide II, it mentions OTHER WAYS OF USING LUCK. I understand this one... At the beginning of a game session, the player rolls his Luck dice and counts the Normal Damage BODY. The number of BODY equals the number of rolls the player may re-roll during that game to get a better result. But I'm not sure I understand these two... At the beginning of a game session, the player rolls his Luck dice and counts the total. That total represents a number of points the player may add to or subtract from rolls throughout that game to get better results. At the b…

Barrier Questions
Hi Steve, Some questions about barriers. With the movable advantage on a barrier , how far can it move? can that movement be adjusted with advantages? Does a moving barrier collide with objects when not having a Can a barrier hold up something? ie a car falling off a bridge is put in a movable barrier. What about a static barrier placed to support a collapsing building. Thanks

How does damage negation vs. an explosion
How does damage negation work vs an attack with the advantage explosion? For example I have a character with -3DC of damage negation. The villain throws a 10d6 Blast with the advantage explosion at a character 6m away from my character that does not have damage negation and hits. The rules for damage negation state that you roll the dice for the character with the most damage negation which would be my character, but the rules for explosion state that you remove the highest dice first. How is this handled? Obviously the character in the center of the explosion will take 10d6, while my character will take 8d6 (adjusting for the explosion advantage). How ar…

What would the value for this form of indirect be
I have a telekinetic character I am building who has various powers based on telekinesis. I want to be able to use all the powers similar to the way telekinesis is used. What would the value for the indirect advantage be? The power always comes from my character so it altering the source point does not seem to fit. The path of the power also does not change so that also does not fit. I can use it affect things behind a wall or barriers.

Damage Negation Continued
Damage Negation is reduced for advantages like Armor Piercing or Area of Effect. My question, can you apply something like hardened to the Damage Negation to negate the reduction for Armor Piercing? OR Can you apply variable advantage to prevent reduction from something like Area of Effect?

Summon and Number of Tasks
I am probably missing something, somewhere, knowing me, lol, but... Summoning and beating something in an EGO contest gets you EGO/5 # of tasks. But once those tasks are complete, you can try and beat that summoned being again, getting another EGO/5 worth of tasks. If you get lucky, you may even a third time. EGO 20/5 = 4 tasks. With Amicable: Friendly, you don't have to beat it in said EGO contest. You just get your tasks, because it is friendly and wants to help you. But... I see no way to extend those tasks, other than GM fiat. EGO 20/4 = 5 tasks. And then it is done. Am I missing something, or is it easier to get a gr…

Penalty Skill Levels
Hi Steve. #1 are PSL's directly part of the OCV /DCV checklist? (As in being affected by any last step halving or reduction to 0) #2 if not, does that mean that for example OPSL's could be used to counter the 0 OCV imposed by using a movement power at noncombat velocity? Thanks!

Damage Negation followup
So how do you handle knockback for someone with 5d6 damage negation and someone without in a 4d6 RKA AoE(+1/4)? (one person takes 4d6K and the other takes 2 1/2d6 K)

Damage Negation
A player wants to use Damage Negation in my game and the question is how does it work against an attack's advantages. We are both GMs, so we are at a stalemate as to the legality. We agree that in using 1d6 of Damage Negation against an AP(armor piercing) effect, the Negation is reduced to accommodate the advantage of AP. So 5d6 of damage negation would stop 4 DCs of an AP attack. The question comes with various advantages applied on the attack operating against the Damage Negation. 1) In the case of Area of Effect, I am supported by the book. Reduce the number of damage classes negated by the advantage on the attack. So 4 DCs of damage negati…

Mechanic vs Special Effect
So we are having a lively discussion about turning polluted water into clean water and its devolved, as such questions are randomly devolved into, a more technical question. I understand some of these items are more opinions rather than a clear dry effect, so if the answer is "as the GM dictates" that is fine, but I would like to see how you would rule it in your own game and the reason why. Here are my questions. 1) One writer is using life support as a way to clean the purified water, using the special effect of life support need not drink usable by others nearby to say the water is permanently clean. Several of us disagree saying that if you took the wat…
