Pariah Posted July 5, 2020 Report Share Posted July 5, 2020 Surprise! We're going to do a Superdraft in July, and I'm calling it... Pick A Color! Here's the gist: A location (second pick), five protagonists, one antagonist, and three options. All the usual rules apply: all picks are exclusive, all characters must be professionally published and fictional, different versions of the same character (frex, Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson as Captain America) are allowed. Here's the twist: Your first pick must be a color. And all five protagonists must have some connection to that color. (The antagonist, location, and option picks are not constrained in this fashion.) Acceptable colors would include something like the following: red, maroon, orange, yellow, green, dark blue, light blue, purple, pink, brown, tan, black, gray, white, gold, silver, and bronze. There may be others; ask if you have a question. Color choices are exclusive. When somebody takes "green", you don't get to choose "a slightly different shade of green". Sorry. We'll start this thing on Tuesday, July 7th at noon EDT and make additional picks at noon each subsequent day, one per day. First pick is your color, second pick is your location, all other picks may be made in any order. We WILL draft on July 11th and 12th. So, who's in? I'd consider Captain America's traditional costume to be primarily blue, with white and red as secondary colors. You could draft Cap with any of these, I'd say. For Superman, I think I'd allow either red or blue, but not yellow. Hal Jordan's usual getup is a shoo-in for green (obviously), but could also work for black. There could be connections beyond the costume, of course. Cyclops and red are a natural match even though his costume is usually blue and yellow, because the effects of his power are red.
