Drhoz
Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... What *I* don't understand is why Vitus is considered a hero. Unless it's the "PC" tattoo. Because given a suitable reason, Vitus will protect the public from drug dealers, gang violence, arch-liches, Mechanon... admittedly the reasons so far have been 1) stalking the streets at night and feeding drug dealers to his giant spiders is a good way to burn off some frustration. 2) they were being too noisy on the street outside, and Vitus wasn't enjoying TV as an entertainment media. Applying one to the other from 6 stories up solved both problems. 3) If there's going to be any world-shaking magical overlords around, it's going to be him 4) Mechanon and his organic counterpart The Fury could eventually be a threat to his own species and universe if they ever got there, and thus should be eliminated now. With each new thing that I'm finding out about Vitus, I find myself compelled to ask: Is Vitus really Dr. Gregory House in a hyena suit? He seems to have the same basic personality nah, Vitus isn't nearly that bright. And if it WAS Lupus, he could cure it with a simple "Cure Illness " spell anyway

BcAugust
Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... From our very good game Monday, which takes place after we appeared in the middle of the battle(via time travel) and were trying to help. Hermes(After being knocked out yet again): "If we all live through this, we can tell our stories later. For now, tactically relevant info only while we catch our breath. . ." DarkHood(NPC): "We're fighting, we're losing" So, after a long battle, which involved Artemis nearly knocking herself out to heal the whole battlefield, gambling(correctly) that there were more good guys that would get up then bad guys, and varying battles ending well or poorly, our Gm throws this out. (The Corrupter the evil guy, David Dragos a very complex npc, who has been both good and evil, and is enemies with one pc, and good friends with another. Of course, given this involves time travel...we have no idea which he is at this point.) *And.. almost innocuously by comparison, a portal opens in the dead center of the field* *and yet.. eyes begin to draw to it, here and there* *and somehow, over the din of blasts and strikes and cries, sounds an ever polite.. cough* *standing there, in an entirely immaculate suit, his smile lopsided and idle, is David Dragos* There is, of course, a third option. *the Corruptor roars in outrage* .... you dare? Now you show your face! Now! *David just grins* Oh come on Max.. let's make a deal.. So, after a long, bitter conversation, the heroes of the age are sent into exile with their lives, and the villains get Earth, our group is deciding whether to go with the heroes or not. After Artemis decides to go sit by David... *Hermes nods to Seeker(Npc female that Hermes has met before and gets along well with)* "Artemis. . . will you be coming?" *his tone carrying a question* Artemis: "Do you love her?" *Seeker blushes several shades of deep crimson* Uh.. I'll be on the other side of the portal! *Hermes actually blinks and coughs at that, in astonishment* "Um, huh-wuh?"
Weldun
Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Still, for all the faults in the character's, err... character, he generates a lot of interest and discussion. Which is why nobody has asked him to retire the character. His interactions with the rest of the party and the world they live in is a part of what keeps the game interesting. Well, right up to the point where Vitus discovers that the Spectre has coupled with three. Then I'll have to bring in another character because my immortal will be dead. Here are some quotes from the Slayer campaign... ---------- [The Vampire patrol guard for the evil lair thinks he hears a noise] Vamp: Did you hear something? Zombie Door-guards: ........* Vamp: ...Nevermind. ---------- [The Penangallan is revealed in the rafters of the old winery by Jinx's light spell, its eyes glowing as it moves itself along by its dripping entrails] Henry: Gaaaaah! Jinx: Ill see your "gaaaah!" and raise you a "nyeaaaaaagh!" ------------ Wounded Vampire Henchman *recovers from being stunned*: ...Damn...Im fanatically loyal... *Attacks a PC and gets dusted* ------------ Jinx: Is there any way to cleanse my eyes, to make me unsee what has been seen? ------------ [The gang discovers the Penangallan's headless body, resting in a defended place while its head and entrails fly around at night] Teddi: What on EARTH possessed you to look down its neck-hole?!? Jinx: I...dont...know! --------------- [The characters have discovered Demonsdemonsdemons.com] Post: When performing the Amoratis ritual, should I use phlebotinum, or angel's breath? Jinx post: Phlebotinum. And you should always be naked ;P ------------ [Teddi, Jinx, and Charles are going thru the cemetary] Jinx: We see a lot of these places. Teddi: We go where the action is. Jinx: Would it be wrong to hang a swing off of that tree? Teddi & Charles: YES! -------------- Jinx: Whats up with people using Zombies? Teddi: Theyre cost-effective. Jinx: But they stink up the place. Teddi: This is what happens when "efficiency experts" run the world. ------------- GM: Charles holds his sword aloft and intones words of righteous power! Teddi (ooc): "By the Power of Greyskull!" ------------- Teddi (OOC): I take the cultist's knife. GM: He doesnt have one. Teddi (OOC): What kind of self-respecting cultist doesnt have a knife? Jinx (OOC): Hes at home! ------------- [The two Watchers (Desmond, Teddi's Watcher, and Henry, Teddi's father) are regarding a large iron-maiden like thing that an evil cult has been using to create Zombies] Desmond: Is that the artifact? Henry: Remarkable. Jinx: Can we get this somewhere safe before you two start examining it? Desmond: It looks clearly necromantic. Probably late 14th century... Henry: Clearly! Teddi: Jinx, you and I will get it into the truck. Theyll go wherever it does.

Wyrm Ouroboros
Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Our heroes are all dragons, in a fairly bizarre dimension-hopping fantasy campaign. You have no idea how arrogant a group of dragons can be: GM (me): Who speaks goblin? CrosshairCollie
Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... My wife was feeling unwell so didn't join us, so we played a game of Settlers of Catan, then a game of Munchkin Fu. Both of which wound up with some very ... questionably tasteful remarks. From Catan: While doing a four-for-one trade to get a much needed resource: "I get wood for four sheep." "So, you're Scottish?" From Munchkin Fu: A player equips an item, then uses an 'enhancer' on it ... "I'll wear the Hong Kong Thong, then make it Long ..." ghost-angel
Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... D&D3.0 game, a minor earthquake overnight reveals that the cliff face we camped near opened slightly to reveal a cave . . . Gregory (fighter) "We're going down the hole aren't we?" Lynn (scout) "It's a hole in the ground with a pulsing light." Gregory "I'm sure if we wait around long enough another group will come along." The party went into the hole. Naturally. Lynn on point, edging past a stone sphynx like statue. Statue comes to life, "Kaitlynn, where do you think you're going?" Lynn "That way." points down the hall. In a room, filled with treasure a pulsing light source keeps revealing shadows of bugs, snakes, etc. . . Ernit (bookworm cleric) "It finds invisible bugs! That's freaking cool!!" In another room, ten corpses on the floor, exploring the room, the greedy cleric (halfing, not the same one as above) eventually decides to loot the bodies - which come to life. Gregory "First Rule!! Never loot the bodies you didn't kill personally!"
