Heh

OK... after you have created a character you need to press the CTRL key and the Print Screen key at the same time. Then open some kind of image software. Then open a new file in that software and go to the Edit Menu and select Paste. Then crop everything that you do not want to keep. Under the File menu select Save as and make sure you choose the JPEG file extension.

Does that help?

Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine

Here's a technique I use with Photoshop. If you're trying to draw a character in a suit, you'll notice the tie is drawn over the suit, which is sloppy. I make two copies; one with the suit, the other with the tie. I open them on Photoshop and superimpose the suit copy over the tie copy. Then I use the eraser or magic eraser function to remove parts of the overlapping layer (do this carefully). Then flatten the image, and you're done.

Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine

If someone already said this, forgive me, but try the following:

Go to Google. Paste 'Fábrica de Heróis' (minus quotes, of course) into the search box. On the appropriate hit, instead of clicking the main link, click "translate this page."

It's never a perfect translation, but it's a far cry better than La Portuguese.

That said, I'm going to now dig into it. I toyed with the idea of making one of these with a friend back when I was into making DCU-type pics and HeroMachine was first out. I decided that all the effort would be likely to get my butt sued. I'm gonna enjoy this, I think. If it's not perfect, it'll at least make for a good shortcut tool when making my own images.

Edit: The translated page will not have the actual character creation tool on it. You'll have to keep two copies of the page open if you want the instructions in semi-English.

Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine

I have been playing with this and did a version of Black Adam, I am on linux and used GIMP's Acquire feature to capture the image, I have not manipulated it other then convert it to png for display. I will note that I can do just an area snap shot in linux where I would have to do a window snap shot in Windows. I can not upload it this morning but I will see what I can do this evening.

I gave him a staff and used it as the neck of his guitar. I added in the rest using MS Paint' date=' the only paint program I have.[/quote']

That's pretty impressive if you did that in Paint. Just about everything I've ever tried to do with it looks like a painting by a chimp.

I started drawing when "flipping bits" was the way to edit most pictures. Mind you, if there's a free graphics program (like OpenOffice is for text) I'd like to know where to get one.

Here's s'more, the Mystery Men!

I just couldn't find a good picture of IB.
