Having had my share and more of burritos down here...and stuffed sopapillas and fajitas...there's a much simpler solution.

Stop trying to put a bloody mountain's worth of filling in there.

That is the weirdest thing I've ever heard you say.

I only use steak sauce if the steak just doesn't taste good (e.g., once in a blue moon at a certain budget chain restaurant that will go unnamed). Other than that, I will occasionally use steak sauce as an ingredient in an impromptu marinade.

And if you suggest the use of ketchup on steak, even in jest, well, there's no forgiveness for you, in this world or the next.

Ketchup does have uses -- just not on steak.

(I recently tried out a new recipe from an old cookbook, Chen Kenichi's actually.  His Chili Shrimp uses ketchup, which actually helps mellow out the hot bean paste.)

I remember the judges remarking on that quite favorably. You tried this? I have to admit "hot bean paste" scares me.

My mother is a fan of black licorice. I recently discovered that Scandinavia has something that must be labelled 'adult licorice' because it is far too intense to be considered candy for kids. (Some kind of taxation designation that I didn't get the whole story on). When I told Mom about it, she said, "Ok. Get me some, we'll find out."   So, I got a sample of Finnish licorice.

It was just for her because I'm not a fan, but curiosity drove me to try it. Wow. That is intense. Yeah, definitely not candy. An hour later I'm still tasting it. I can see how if you like the flavor it would be incredible. In fact, she said don't bother with the black jelly beans anymore. She has moved on.

Honestly, it's good stuff.  It's hot without killing your tastebuds, so you can still appreciate the flavor.  It's been a wonderful discovery to find at my local Asian market, ingredient-wise.

This next link, however, would scare me...

California Man Sets New Record for Eating the World's Hottest Peppers

That's not as insane as the part at the end...the record for eating the MOST Reapers.

But surprise:  the threat's indirect.

I'd also wonder if you're effectively shutting down your sense of taste from the overload.
