His ability to kick a hole in anything has made him a dangerous threat for any opponent. He keeps rescuers from Corral and Mister Dread as they retrieve their spoils from their robberies. Benjamin Brewster is the head of banking and financial services for the Dark Illuminati, and is actually a cyberpath able to mentally connect to the Net and hack into most any bank or financial institution, as well as many government agencies. He just loves to play with money -- especially other peoples' money -- and would gladly crash the economies of small countries for amusement sake. Remember that rogue Swiss stock trader that lost $2 billion in one day? Brewster thought it would be amusing to make *every single trade* by that trader turn into a major loss. (Of course, Brewster also made a killing that day, buying up stocks at bargain basement prices.) Sub-prime mortgage crisis? That was Benji's baby too. But an explosion caused by simple negligence in his lab not only deranged him, it changed him. Now his body emits a smell so foul that anyone within 10 feet cannot help but vomit and collapse into sickness. Only his "Skunk suit" contains his odor so he can interact with others. The Skunk can control the odors enough with the suit enough to make it so 20 or 30 feet is its raduius. Any heroes that need to breathe will find themselves convulsing if the catch a whiff. Fortunately the police keep losing track of him and he tend to surrender to cops if it buys his masters time. He does not know that he works for the Dark Illuminati and he does not ask. They pay well and have good legal representation for him. So they pass a message through an intermediary and off he goes. Whether it is breaking through walls or acting as a bullet shield. As long as he is paid he is ok. No one yet has connected him to the Dark Illuminati as he is given such a wide range of assignments that considered opinion is that he is just a routine thug sometimes working for collectors wanting something esoteric or as muscle for a one off job. Reginald's assignment right now is playing valet to a cabal of male mages who, unbeknownst to them, are serving the orders of the Dark Illuminati through their crimes via wizardry. Reginald silently keeps track of the cabal's successes (and failures) and dutifully reports back to the Dark Illuminati as to how they should be "nudged" next. Reginald is no slouch in magic -- in fact she's actually Regina. However, there's been some annoying developments as of late. See, this particular cabal is supposed be shielded via scrying and the like. No man is able to detect their crimes. But a few members have been disappearing without a trace and only Regina has noticed their loss. It seems some unknown enemy is working against the cabal. Empirion So named as it as energy directed through the Empire State Building that created him. Seen as a guy surrounded by a meisphere of green crackling energy, this was an attempt by the Dark Illuminati to test the responses of the authorities and hero grops in New York in the post 9-11 era. A random bystander was hit by a stored collection of energy, part chemical, part mystic and part natural that was sent from the top of the Empire State down to the second floor. The devastation and collateral damage were noted with enthusiasm by the group before Empirion was isolated, captured and sent to a secure facility. He has visions of the future which may or may not come to pass due to meddling by heroes or villains. He has a minor mystical ability but his insights into the future are spectacular. Maybe wrong or right but spectacular. For this reason he has his own TV show where he comes across as a lunatic but hiding him in plain sight makes me easier to control. He can also port people into the future or the past and hit them with an aging spell which takes them fronm their current form into infanthood or into senility. Fearsome, large and having tentacles the appearance of Cyclax usually means that all available resources on the hero's side are scrambled to stop it. Cyclax suffers little or no damage from mind affecting attacks and can take an awful lot of punishment from all other attacks. It enables the other operatives or senior members of the Dark Illuminati to get away amongst carnage, destruction and inane TV commentary. Cyclax once defeated is banished until the next time it is needed. Well as no-one else wants to pose one. New Team: The Harem. The raid on the Monroe building had one spectacular failure. Henry Cranham should have been one of those arrested. I mean yes he is a paranormal but his talent was not combat orientated although it made him useful to the Underworld. What was galling is that he and his 6 girlfriends all got away cleanly. The Harem as they had come to be termed were all attractive women but only the Chinese girl Crimson Raven had been identified as a bodyguard. She had won numerous tournaments as a child for her martial arts ability and is recognised as a top rank practioner of Kung Fu. But the rest ? Including the one who actually does dress up like a woman in a harem were no threat at all. This is where the intelligence failed spectacularly. All of the women were his bodyguards. So your mission should you choose to accept it is this. Identify one of the Harem, why she is with Henry, who she confronted during the raid and how she got away. At least one of the women got her boss to safety. Note: None of the women aid him due to coercion on his part. Or anybody elses. None are mercenaries and in it for the money. He does not have or use mind control on them. Or any other form of unnatural charm. They all know that he could not get any of them if he did not have a talent. There are six of them. Her name is Dark Damsel, and she dresses in the best Elegent Gothic Lolita fashions. But do not let her looks fool you. She may be japanies, but she is not a harmless doll. She is the groups sniper with a gimiced parasol, and she works for Henry Cranham out of honor. It seems sometime in the past, Henry saved the lifes of her father (a mid level yakuza boss) and her brother (a low level yakuza thug). She excaped by basicly letting the police think she was simply a sex slave, smugled into this countrie (it helped that she pretended not to speek, let alone know, english). Then, when the back of one of the police was turned, she pulled out a hidden dagger from her parasol and excaped into the night. Oh and Miko Yamata (her real name) hates that snipie little third rate Chun-Li clone (or so she says...Crimson Raven would disagree that she dosen't look anything like the Capcom Street Fighter mascot). When Henry Cranham was 11 years old he was introduced to the girl who became known as Crimson Raven who was 8 at the time. Cranham's family had done the Chinese a great favour and it was decided that it would be repaid lifelong despite what young Henry might think at the time. As time went on Henry grew to appreciate his Chinese 'girlfriend' and her dedication. So much so that when she became a Kung Fu black belt at the age of 18, Henry got her a small jade bowl. He also helped her spar which she was initially against but he explained that 'I trust you', it forged a strong bond between the two. As far as Henry is concerned Crimson Raven is family and he affectionately refers to her as his sister which both embarrasses her and makes her very proud. Henry is often the peacemaker between Dark Damsel and Crimson Raven which he believes is mostly the age old Chinese/Japanese rivalry but is also the fact that Miko is more bloodthirsty. He once corrected Miko saying that Crimson Raven was more like Makato than Chun Li but now leaves the subject alone as he saw that mocking her life work was hurtful to her. She does like the fact that Henry encourages the others to appear absolutely harmless as this is a useful weapon against any opponent. During the raid Crimson Raven knocked out the lighting and then began taking people left, right and centre. She already seen Henry bolt for it closely followed by one of the others. At some stage someone got stupid and fired an explosive device. Crimson Raven followed the explosion out of a window and used acrobatic ability to land safely. When she landed she saw her compatriot and so knew it was ok to go. However since then she has become suspicious of Brunhild who did not appear to have fought anyone despite what everyone else went through. Her birth name is unknown, though her appearance is vaguely Middle-Eastern. She's very quiet, and seems to be a low-level reality warper, able to make temporary changes in people, objects and the environment within approximately two meters of herself. She almost never acts in combat unless given specific directions or Henry is in direct danger of being injured. Genie doesn't remember her real name. For as long as she can remember, somewhere around age 8, she was under the command of a man who claimed to be her uncle and used multiple names in his many con games. "Uncle" was physically and psychologically abusive to Genie, forcing her to help him carry out his scams with her powers. Henry was unfooled when Uncle tried to grift him, and sent the man to prison. Genie joined Henry out of gratitude, and because she's got such low self-esteem that she can't imagine not being someone's obedient servant. The petite Melinda became accustomed to the trapeze. While Margie was....well....more brawny, though not quite as agile she became the one to catch Melinda in the trapeze act. After years with the circus, the circus closed due to going in the red. After a brief attempt with the group The Big Top (that ended in failure for them). They were recruited by Henry as a duo. The Flying Vander Bergs were back in business. Melinda became Aerial, Margie became Lista They've developed their own unique brand of 2 woman gymnastic martial art fighting. Ariel and Lista both had a hand in Henry's escape. They combatted all those they got near. Lista using her strength eventually took the lead and personally got Henry out guarding his back, while Ariel eventually turned into the diversion and would escape through the ventilation during the confusion of the explosion Note: Sorry, for the mix up, I had read several times before, dont know why I suddenly got everything confused. 2nd Note: Realized I forgot to add their new identities. Before we close down this group and go to the next group, I want to add a bit of claritie between the rivalitie betwen Dark Damsel and Crimson Ravin. The rivalitie is not based on traditinal countrie rivalities, but instead on position. CR is bodyguard #1, and her princess mentalitie will not acepte anyone but herself as that position to protect Henry-sama (yes, she uses -sama...basicly 'lord', for Henry). She does respect CR (if not, she would be swiss chese by now). She even secretly admiers her. She just needs to be the best, and reconised for it.
