Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

An entomologist with a particular interest in apiology, Dr. Bryce Kosturakis was determined to find a way to communicate with his little buzzing friends. With help from a mathematician friend of his and a drinking buddy who was breaking new ground in communication theory, Bryce eventually got what he wanted, a way to talk to the bees as one of their own. But, one of their own meant just another drone, and his will was quickly subjugated by the consciousness of the hive. For a few years, he wandered the earth, carrying a cabinet-style hive on his back, breaking into flower shops or stealing sugar from grocery stores, until he figured out how to open the communication even further. When he opens his mouth, the only sound is a frantic droning buzz, like white noise or a flurry of bees, yet those in listening range can hear his words, and his intentions. And, he can overwhelm the will of another just as his own will was overwhelmed. Thus, the birth of Mindhive. Now a known villain, he has moved up to higher profile targets and more profitable scores. But, his mind is not a man's, and his goals are not human. He is using his earnings to collect bee colonies from all over the world, bringing them together in the largest hive ever constructed. Sugar is shipped in by the truckload, and some day this super-colony will break open its walls and true terror will be known. But, until then, he uses his powers of mind control, mental communication, confusion and will-sapping to rob whatever targets his little yellow-and-black friends choose. Recognizing that his powers were narrow in scope, he began searching about for others who could help him in his mission. Not humans, he could barely understand them at all. But some people had minds... closer to his. More animal, more instinct, less refined. He sought them out, to form the Human Zoo. None of them know about his hidden superhive, nor his long-term goals.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Next up in the Human Zoo is Zuba, the Lion Man. Zuba was orphaned as a baby and raised by, of all creachers, Lions. Eventuly at the age of 14 he was reintruduced into human society, and by the age of 16, rejected it and rejoined his pride. Then tragity struck when a group of pochers hunted them down to the last cub. He swore revenge on man and joined the group to make his revenge real beyond imagining.

Warning: Zubu will eat humans if he can...raw.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Melinda Cackleberry grew up in a dreary suburb of Manchester, with two loving but deadly dull parents and depressingly normal neighbors. What she craved was to be special and magical, to get the notice that there had been some dreadful mistake and she was off to wizard school or turning into a werewolf (the sexy kind) or the scion of a god. No such luck. Well, then, Melinda decided that she'd have to make her own specialness, just as soon as she got off to university.

She was very disappointed to learn that her college was just as normal as her home life, and that the Witches' Society she joined up with was just a eco-friendly religious group with feminist overtones. So she turned to independent research. It took a while, but eventually she had the bad luck to actually find a way to get real magical power. All it would cost her was being someone else....So Melinda became the Bad Witch{/B].

Melinda looks like the old fashioned stereotype of the wicked witch, black robes, pointed hat, hooked nose with warts, scraggly hair and misshapen teeth. She has a shrieking, cackling tone to her voice. Melinda has a fair selection of hexes, curses, maledictions and poisons she can inflict on others, but she is unable to produce any "positive" results for others. Her usual transportation is a broom, but Bad Witch can use any similarly-shaped object to fly with. Her black cat familiar is called Gobbleguts, and may or may not be capable of eating a human whole.

Bad Witch is repelled by all things holy, though she claims this is merely a psychological problem she will eventually learn to control.

eta: whoops, somehow missed an entire page!

Ehh, Madhouse was a small team. So, one extra wouldnt be too bad to add. (and Bell Witch and Bad Witch might make for an interesting "friendly" rivalry)

It is a known fact that most of these stories about heroes who gain powers are a bunch of baloney. For example if you are born under a red sun and then come under the influence of a red sun then you get powers that would make you all but a god ? Please. Or after your parents are whacked in front of you as a child you will then be scared by flying mammals and use superstition to prey on the criminal community ? Please. Or that you can survive a nuclear explosion and consequently turn into a primary coloured powerhouse ? Please. Or that you will gain the propotional strength etc of an arachnid if it bites you and it is radioactive ? Please.

Keith Waterhouse presented a myth busting show like this until he was suckered into a test to prove it wa not possible. A biochemically altered and irradiated snake was to bite someone except that the test was subverted by Dr Nymax! who had taken a personal dislike to Keith and decided to teach him a lesson.

Instead then of the snake biting a volunteer the snake bit Keith and hospitalised him. (How on earth with all the health and safety checks did this happen ? Keith had been doused with prey chemical receptors which the snake responded to.)

After a couple of weeks he was released but soon found he could taste the air and sense things in the same way a snake could. He could also move as fast as a snake but best of all he could manifest a mental generated picture of a snake head which could then bite people. So Keith has started a new life as Hidden Serpent but he does not know what happened to him was no accident and the author of his new life is watching him.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

You know that people can get embarrassed and don't want to talk about something, well the same is true for superheroes and supervillains. Mention certain names and one or the other might go away into a corner and cry. But one particular name will make both cry. I say but actually it's a phrase that this villain has taken as his name. 'That's Gotta Suck !' Yep, believe it or not a villain exists by this name. And he carries a vacuum cleaner into action with him. It's running off some sort of battery so it is portable. But it still looks silly. A guy carring a vacuum. He's insane obviously and hard to hurt as several heroes and villains have beaten him up to no avail. And despite the fact that the vaccum has been taken from him he gets it back or another and off we go again. Surely you say it can't be that effective ? Ask a shrinking hero, a dwarf, a fairy or a small mammal and theyu will tell you otherwise. Apparantly the police have erased his real name as has his schools due to the embarrassment of what he has become.

Holder

Holder has a unique power but it is a bit of a doozy. He can create a bubble in the air which uses a vacuum to to pull people inside. He uses this for kidnap and ransom. Thing is people can see the bubble and the people inside. However trying to free them can have serious and fatal consequences for either the person in the bubble or the person freeing them. It can explode which is devastating to organic matter but not inorganic. And Holder can move a bubble in front of him which tends to put off people with guns and energy blasts or even the odd rock throwing giant. He's quite unscrupulous as a ransomer kidnapping wives, children and he odd pet just to make a buck.

The Boy in the Bubble

Just don't mention that film to him or the Paul Simon song, he won't thank you for it. Terry Palin is the eponymous person. He lives in a vacuum as he has a destructive power which if exposed to air is devastating. His hometown was almost destroyed by its sudden emergence but quick thinking by a hero made him The Boy in the Bubble. Naturally Terry was ungrateful and resents a world he can no longer be a part of. However he can use the vacuum that surrounds him for various effects like negating sound and causing a chill though he cannot as yet reduce it to the coldness of space itself. Holder saw his potential and recruited him as part of the Hoovers

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Upright II was a legacy hero, using his father's armor to do some good in the world. The original Upright was a member of ACT, the American Clean Team; designed by the federal government during the late sixties as a way to lure America's youth away from the subversive protest movements. ACT was about "traditional" values, and was supposed to evoke sentiments of nostalgia, homesickness, and comfortable familiarity. In practice, it meant that there were six goofy heroes running around with costumes and powers and codenames branded after household appliances, all of them trying to convince hippies that they should try to capture the American Dream with the picket fences and the 2.5 children in a suburb with a nosy neighbor and a friendly milkman. Upright II is terribly embarrassed about his father's politics and image, but when the old man retired, he stepped up to help out. Even though the American Clean Team broke up when Spin Cycle died and Gasrange was institutionalized, he kept the name as a symbol.

Symbols, however, don't mean a thing when your armor has no psionic defenses. One supervillain with a mean streak took Upright's brain and twisted it like taffy, and now the young man is happily villainous, robbing banks and taking hostages while he still cheerfully chants out his father's old slogans and other upbeat, positive catchphrases. He appears to be completely oblivious to the fact that he is breaking the law, and nobody has yet managed to shake him out of his reverie. And, whatever villain it was that programmed him was REALLY good at his job, his mind is now virtually impermeable.

His armor looks like cheap plastic and chrome, but it actually gives him top-notch protection. Though it's bulky and retro, the powerset in it has been regularly upgraded as time goes by. His main abilities in a fight are his flight, heightened strength, electrifying grasp, and his "air sweep", an area-effect technique that draws in anything not nailed down and hold it to him. Clustering up his opponents like that is a great set-up for his teammates' powers, and sometimes he uses his air sweep while he's airborne, so as to pull an entire hero team, or police blockade, or any other inconvenience, thirty feet into the air, then drop them all at once. Usually in a safe place like a body of water or a pile of mattresses, but not always.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

In quantum mechanics the perfect vacuum is one with no energy in it and that is how De-Energiser works. He simply drains people of their energy and then helps the others do the job. This does not kill them as that would put many cops and heroes after them but it is inconvenient for pursuit and resistance. Obviously the more energy you have the more difficult it is. He can drain the energy from machines but it does not work so well. He and Holder teamed up and are the brains behind the team. Upright II was a good catch and the Boy in the Bubble was easily persuaded. As for their other teammate they did not really have a choice and it makes the hit selection harder so why not ?

New team: We have done immortals and people from the past but missed one thing. One crucial thing. Dinosaurs ! So the new team is Dinosaurama with a minimum of 5 members. They can be full size or people who change into dinosaurs or dinosaur shaped tanks/robots (maximum of one) or human sized ish crossbreeds

And as this may be a popular subject, one dinosaur per poster for the first five.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

It's no secret than several science-minded supervillains and criminal agencies have attempted to clone dinosaurs for use in whatever schemes they may have. And it should come as no surprise that many of them play fast and loose with such trivialities as lab safety procedures. Which is why Dr. Terry Samuels, a technician working on a special project for ARGENT, came to have her DNA fused with genetic material extracted from a primordial mosquito-like bug trapped in amber. The bug had apparently bitten a pteranodon just before death, because that is the closest approximation to the form that Dr. Samuels has now taken. She has leathery wings with a 12-foot wingspan, and a distinctive backward-sweeping cranial crest. Armed with a stolen laser rifle, Pterosaur is the Dinosaurama's aerial reconnaisance and long-distance sniper.

"Pathetic humans! Scavengers of the bones of my people! You shall pay, you shall know fear.... the world shall be reclaimed and cleansed, falling into a new day of Saurian supremacy! Thus swears Tri-Terror-Tops!!"

A creation of The infamous Doctor Moreau's experiements into science, Tri-Terror-Tops (or 3T to his friends) is a highly evolved (And more humanoid than he enjoys anyone mentioning) Triceratops! Having escaped VIPER, He firmly believes in Dinosaur superiority, and while not a genius on Doctor Silverback's level, is highly cunning and ruthless. He believes fear is a great weapon to use against humans, and is essentially a terrorist brick. He is willing to accept humans who have become more dino like as seeking enlightenment, but it can be a hard fit, and not all of the others share his goals. His rhetoric can get tiresome, but as he has trained himself in use of military equipment (or better) those underestimating him may not live to regret it.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Sometimes, life takes a different direction than you expected. Jerry Oatman was going to be a world-class supervillain, using his ability to take any form to rob any place, take anything, and never worry about the law. Even superheroes were no worry to The Amazing Multiplex, since he could simply recover from any damage and escape from any captivity! What he neglected to realize was that not all heroes will beat a villain up and throw him in jail, or try to kill them. Some heroes are devious. One such was called The Negator, and that hero responded to the call when Multiplex tried to rob a museum. Spotting the hero, Multiplex touched a nearby fossil and took on a form based on it, turning into a humanoid stegosaurus! But Negator was not impressed, and with a wave of his hand, permanently depowered Multiplex. With no shapeshifting, multiforming or power mimicry, the villain who thought to take on the world was now stuck in one measly shape. Whipspike, as he now called himself, is tall and strongly built, with large leaf-shaped plates running down his back and several long, needle-like spikes on the end of his long, flexible tail. Most who look at him think him a lumbering brute, but they are often caught off-guard by his snakelike speed and long reach. Virtually impervious to harm from the back, he is fond of wading into the middle of a fight and lashing around in all directions. He now steals to survive, since he can never go back to a human life, but he fights for pure vicious fun. He blames superheroes, all of them, for his condition, and he takes it out on them whenever he can.

New team, new theme!

Sometimes, we don't get the name we want. Maybe the press gave you a bad rap when they first reported you, or maybe you had a freudian slip when you were giving your name. Sometimes, nicknames stick with you, like it or not. Is this you? Are you being mocked during battles, belittled during team meetings? Is your superhero identity a source of guilty snickers and double-entendre? We know how it is, people can be juvenile. Come join the Rough Sects, where you can be among villains who share your troubles. We are looking for six new members at this time, all with names and powersets that are ... unintentionally suggestive, or overly prone to sexual innuendo. If your name gets groans, giggles, or giggities, put in your application now!

The B&E specialist in Rough Sects is Ramon Enriquez, a young man with minor cyberkinetic powers. He can bypass any alarm and unlock any electronic lock, and has the lockpicking skills to bypass most mechanical locks as well. An excellent sneak thief, he was known in the Spanish B&E trade as Entrada Trasera, but when he moved to the US and his nickname was translated to Rear Entry, he took far more than his share of ribbing. Unfortunately, the name has stuck and he was approached to join Rough Sects.

He was shure he said his name was Nastyboy. He, a mutant brick y the given name of Melvin VonDerRuns, said his none-der-crime when he robed his first bank. So why did the newspapers called him Nancyboy?

Well, after many other roberies, and fress vareations of the name (he was at one time Nastyman, The Boy Who Is Nasty, Nasty, Mister Nasty...you named it, if you uesd the word Nasty he tried it), it always was publish as a vareation of "Nancy". Evently he gave up and joined this group, hopeing one day to be Nastyboy once again.

What can you call yourself when your main power is Super Breath? Every variation of "big" "bad" and "wolf" seemed to be taken. Would you believe there's even a guy out there using Gigantomalevelolupus?

So, Blowhard it was. But from the first, people called him Blowjob.

The police usually call him Blowhard, because the first three police officers to call him Blowjob wound up running all the way back to the precinct when he blew away everything they hid behind, under, or inside, coming after them.

Fancy superpowers: a few million US $ for your local mad scientist

Sexy female villian costume: 500 $ per version.

"Buisiness Cards" with your vilanious ID on it: 50$

The Headline you get because you didn't notice that the printer misheard "Villanious Waitress" and instead wrote Villian Mattress: One membership in the Rough Sects.
