Marcus Impudite
Campaign City has been hit by a major ice and snow storm, getting a good 24 inches of snow before the storm let up. On the news, lots of local businesses, schools, churches, etc. have announced they will be closed until further notice. Most people stocked up on the necessities before the storm, and are staying in unless they absolutely have to venture out into ice and snow. Snowplows and sand trucks have been deployed to clear the roads, but it's going to be a while before they have them all clear. There's been no reports of criminal activity in the area, but there are reports of motorists getting stuck in the snow and a few weather-related fender benders. There are some areas of the city that are without power due to fallen tree limbs, and crews are working around the clock to repair those lines. WWYCD? Blue
Re: The Snow Storm Anthem would probably wear a costume with more coverage, and stick to her street patrols, though I suspect crime would take a holiday to some degree. Instead there'd be an upswing from criminals who enjoy the cold (Cold powered villains). Uncle Slam would deploy PRIMUS agents in heavy vehicles to help clear roads. He might take a few hours to go around hoisting vehicles out of precarious spots. Audra Blue would analyze weather data to try and figure if this was part of some criminal plan. Finding none, she'd create a virtual snow simulation so that she could experience snow, never having been in any and fearing to go outside. The Flood district of town is a district that somehow seems impervious to weather conditions. There are all sorts of counters built into it. It's also the only fully completed section of town that meets the original plans designed by the founder. They'd turn on warmers that melt the snow, which promptly is funneled away by hidden ducts, almost as if he knew this would happen some day. The rest of the city is not so lucky. sinanju
Re: The Snow Storm Iron Maiden is a flying brick who is unfazed by extremes of temperature. She'd go out to help stranded motorists, assist EMTs getting to people in need of help, etc. Hell's Angel flies, has fire powers (no! gasp!), and is also unfazed by extremes of temperature. She'd do likewise. Silverstreak is a speedster. She flies, but other than superspeed she doesn't have any real powers. She'll stay at home in front of the fire unless a real disaster occurs. Raven manipulates reality. But she's mostly concerned with terrorizing criminals, so she's not going to change her routine much. She'll terrorize any criminals who decide to take advantage of the blizzard, and maybe some snowed-in criminals. Black Mask is a martial artist with Matrix-like abilities. He's mostly a neighborhood hero. He'll keep an eye on the neighborhood and environs and help out people who have to venture out (or who are caught out in stalled cars, etc). Man-Ape is, well, a man-ape. And as such, he's vulnerable to cold (he's a tropical critter). He'll stay inside where it's warm unless he absolutely HAS to venture out into the blizzard. Tempest is a weather controller. Unless there's good reason not to, he'll disperse the blizzard....
Yansuf
Re: The Snow Storm Since my current character is in "the Boston Defenders" this question seems topical. Steel Sentinel is a powered armor hero, who can withstand extreme temperatures. He would go out and see what he could do to help. Rescue cars stuck in the snow? Sure. Help EMTs get people to the hospital Certainly. Stop any crimes he sees in progress? Of course. Not sure what else he could do to help though. Matt the Bruins
Re: The Snow Storm Super Model would probably be most effective helping stranded motorists extract their cars from ditches and snowbanks. Earth Girl would do nothing. Winter is natural! Kurzhaan the Conqueror might help crews working to repair power lines and so forth, while mockingly telling everyone they should try living through a real ice age like he did. He can technically manipulate the weather, but is unlikely to mess with the natural order when it's a normal climate situation rather than something majorly life-threatening like tornadoes, etc. Young Scratch would probably say "You want me to fight snow?" and then continue unhelpfully playing videogames. Stone
Re: The Snow Storm Quantum - would coordinate with and assist local agencies in their efforts Stone - Would wait to be told where to go pull a vehicle out of a ditch Spectre - Not my problem
hfergus
Re: The Snow Storm Volt would dress warmly and help pull people out of snowbanks and such. (he can fly) If needed he can act as a generator for up to a small business four about 4 hours. (electric powers) Olorin - First of all, he he can himself temporarily immune to the cold. With a large VPP - a version of "change environment" comes to mind. At best he could do a block, but a block cleared every couple hours would help. He only needs 4 hrs of sleep for week as well. If he knew of "snow eating critters" he could summon a bunch of them, and dismiss them as needed. (He doesn't know of any though.) Maybe a "snow magnet"? Black Tiger - keep warm, deal with crime and help in emergencies. As a martial artist, kicking the snow may help his mood, but little else. Leadman- Brick. Give him a large snow plow to push. Otherwise, keep warm and help where needed. Futurian - "Whoa! What happened to the weather control? Oh yeah, that's right. Not invented yet. Bummer." At first he'd play in it. Then as he got bored - and people complained - he could whip up a few self driven intelligent snowplows. Then self driven intelligent things to restore power. In that order, and one at a time. McCoy
Re: The Snow Storm Dolphin would concentrate on restoring the electricity. Helping the crews working on the downed power lines, after that circling outward from that area gently shaking trees to remove excess ice and snow. Snow Leopard: Patrol to assist any stranded motorist. Cheeta: Super Speed and Strength, but no life support vs cold. Grab a snow shovel, keep entrances to city hospitals a s clear as possible, be on call to clear path for any emergency vehicle as needed. Millennium: Backstop the mayor and police chief in media appearances, assure the citizens the situation is under control, please no unnecessary travel until the streets are cleared and remember 911 is for emergencies only. While emergency helicopters are grounded be on call if any air evac is needed. Iron Will: Make sure this is a natural storm, not the work of some supervillian. If so station himself at largest hospital in Campaign City to back up the back-up power.
gaberegan
Re: The Snow Storm Let's see, none of my characters have abilities that would let them clear the snow quicker but some of them can still help. Guardian - Telepathic detective, can find trapped/injured people faster than conventional searches. Vanguard - Power armor using technopath, she can probably be put to a variety of uses from debris clearing to coordinating activity. Doctor - Super scientist, would probably get bored and build a super snowplough to clear the streets.
Naanomi
Re: The Snow Storm Economaster would be hard pressed to help personally, but could hire a lot of outside help to assist en-mass. Her best bet might be to venture into the spirit world and see if she can bargain with the storm itself. The Golem would be unphased by the cold or snow, and would probably go help get the only people willing to accept its help (the homeless) to shelter
Pizza Man
Re: The Snow Storm Black Falcon would leap at the opportunity/lull and take a quick vacation at a warm beach. Psidestep would leap at the opportunity/lull and take a quick vacation at a warm beach. Shade would leap at the opportunity/lull and take a quick vacation at a warm beach. Shadow Hawk
Re: The Snow Storm Shadow Hawk would patrol more. Goliath would play in the snow. And help lift heavy things if asked nicely. Steel Panther would go to the head of the emergency teams and ask what he could do to help, then... do it. El Mago would wander the city, assisting where ever he saw people who could use help. Starcloud
Re: The Snow Storm "Wait, since when does the Zero Zone have power lines?" assault
Re: The Snow Storm My characters would look for the villain that made it snow.
Alverant
Re: The Snow Storm Smokin' Ace (who is presently based in Chicago) would render assistance where possible. He has electronics skill and could probably work on the downed power lines. Divine Wind would stay at home, play games and see if there's any beer around. Snark-E would laugh at the stupid humans. Unless he was ordered to help clean up. Then he'd grumble at the stupid humans as he cleaned.
Badger
Re: The Snow Storm Badger- help somewhat (can fly). Not overly bothered by cold. frosty Bob- not bothered by cold at all (unless it goes negative Farenheit anyway). Not likely to help much, though*. Probably get peeved the bar is closed and go home cussing about it. *If the team leader keeps pestering he'll probably willingly go and help the team for a few hours. He just is more interested in the crimefighting (key part of that is fighting ) part of the job. Bob is also liable to tell stranded motorist "Why the hell you get out on the road, if you cant drive worth a s***?. (he can be blunt at such times.) DusterBoy
Re: The Snow Storm Blue Streak would cover up, then go out to help. She's not got any powers than help clear the snow quicker, but she is certainly strong enough to haul cars out of snow banks and she can look for missing people, help people get to hospital. And she can wield a shovel with the best of them.
