Samuraiko
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Now that I've gotten the DVD-ROM installed on my computer, I've been updating the "trailer/preview" I've been working on for my book. Rachel
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Finally got off my ass and finished & compiled the Global Guardians Universe FAQ, sent it to Jack and posted it in the Champions and General Roleplaying Forums for review. While I have the feeling of a job accomplished, I feel guilty as hell that it took me so long to get it done.
Enforcer84
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Just got done putting a stew together for lunch tomorrow. Dump into crock and cook on low for 12 hours. Stir before 745 meeting...heh. I love it. Impresses the hell out of the wife too.
James Gillen
Re: A Thread for Random Musings So Ann Coulter was on The O'Reilly Factor Monday and I realized Worldmaker was right: Coulter DOES have an Adam's apple. Samuraiko
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Just finished reworking my resume... and I'm going to have one hell of a time explaining that the reason there's a large gap in my work history is because I didn't want to state that I'd worked as a psychic for a little over a year. :S Michelle aka Samuraiko

Klytus
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Unemployment: Day Eight Had my interview today, and it seemed to go well enough. In fact, I can't even remember her asking me any serous questions to make sure I was qualified. Then again, I am overqualified for this, and we did talk at length via AIM a few days ago, so I suppose she had no real doubts I am qualified to do this job. My only question of her was why she was having difficulty filling a first-shift phone support job? It turns out the few qualified applicants whose resumes had made it to her desk had problems passing the drug test or the background check. This should not be a problem for me. The fun part, according to the lady doing my interview, there is a growing cell of Rennies, SCAdians and other such geeks in this department. Its also only a 15 minute drive from my house. I'd be celebrating... only I don't have the job yet, and I'm coming down with another bug. ::blech:: Knowing my luck, the rest of my "vacation" will be spent sick in bed. DocMan
Re: A Thread for Random Musings The news from page 173. It's August 23rd - 24th. Rachel is chiding herself for continuing to try to talk reason to trolls. Klytus is wondering why "Megan", "Kara", and "Rachel" keep sending him so much porn spam. Thrakazog is musing about what it would be like if people in the NGD would complement each other before ripping their arguments to shreds. Worldmaker recounts some things he's learned playing Champions. Kara bemoans that her babies aren't babies anymore. Doc
Vanguard00
Re: A Thread for Random Musings I have no idea how to feel about the fact that this afternoon I was informed that I had done my job so well that I likely wouldn't have a position by 2006. Oh, and if I wanted I could cross-train for another division, but I might not get in there, either. The kicker is, if I'd worked as hard as I probably could have I'd likely already be out of a job, but with no warning. Silver linings and all... Guest Worldmaker
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Things chef's know that most other people don't: despite the name, navel oranges are not oranges. Like tangerines, lemons, and limes, they are cousin to the orange, but not actually oranges themselves.
White Heat
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Ok, so Zornwill and Court Fool were exchanging pleasantries on a different thread, and I got to wondering: What happens when you give Court Fool rep? I looked, and all you can give him is positive rep. That got me thinking. I mean, if he likes his red dots, is giving him any rep equivalent to giving him negative rep? If so, how has Ben reconciled it with his conscience that no one can ever give him what he would consider positive rep? This makes my brain hurt. I'm going to work now... Klytus
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Unemployment: Day Nine I got the call that they want me to start training on Monday 24th. I guess this means I am no longer unemployed, technically. I just need to meet with my contractor on Tuesday to fill in some paperwork and then go get a drug test. Now to see if I can actually enjoy the next week-and-a-half off.

DocMan
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Meanwhile, back on page 174... It is August 24th - 25th. Kara is doing her best to get those political threads derailed! Mightybec thinks his pharmacist looks like a porn star. He'll be picking up his meds now, even if he doesn't take them... Hermit
Re: A Thread for Random Musings It is both a true ego rush, and very humbling, all at the same time, to find out how many folks in an online community who you respect or appreciate apparently respect and appreciate you in return. I'm not sure what I did to earn that, and I'm sure if folks were to meet me face to face they'd be a tad disapointed; but it is still ...well, to quote Clark Kent... Guest Skaramine
Re: A Thread for Random Musings I really need to get back into the writing grind... but Tony Hawk, Pro Skater 2 is sooooooo addictive. I also need to pick up some of the CD's sampled on the sound track. Maybe all of them, since Mos Def is gonna be Ford Prefect, and he's pretty good in Alley Life.
