  1. Only getting at this game with 6E, I always asumed CSL are based on the cost of OCV and DCV. They are basically limited CV in a small power framework. From that point of view it never made sense for a 3 point thing (3-point CSL) to give you the same benefit as a 5 point thing (1 point of DCV). There has to be some tradeoff of the reduced price. That is one of the core rules of Hero. And depending how you look at it, a 10 point CSL (wich all others might be priced from) is already more pwoerfull as buying 2 CV.
  2. I first have to watch a few Episodes before I can truly help with that. One thing I want to note directly however: If you never use your full power, you can appear to never run out of END: If you Chracter is designed for combat in the 12 DC range (inlcuding END and REC for those END consumption values) but then you only throw around 8 DC attacks, you will appear to "never run out of Endurance". Also you might have abilities like a "9/10 DC attack, 1/2 END" wich would further extend you apparent endurance. Edit: Sorry, it is just to cringy to watch the Netflix Life Action Series. Plus I am uncertain if that is even the one you mean, as apparently there was a 1994-2001 version that might fit better.
  3. Violet belongs to a group called the "Violet Flowers" - think off brand Star Saphire corp. Less centralized and a whole lot less homogenic. While Mind Control is fully within the aspect of Love, if and how to wield it is highly contentious among the Flowers. And they all take their views somewhat...religiously. Both groups have come to blows often. Violet does not use the Mind Control aspects. Indeed it is almost not mentioned on her sheet. Except for "Hunted: Villans that want to force her to use that power to their ends". That she even has those powers is a plot device for the GM, not a Player useable power. Also a lot of her powers are designed to counter mentalists (like the sight flash and barrier also stopping the mental group). So she might end up going close to crusade on the perpetrators. Stopping and punishing the perps comes for her before helping victims, unless we talk about acute physical danger. There is a decent chance she does not like Cupid for the same reasons. And a even better chance that there is no Cupid, those are just "Controler" Group Flowers trying to enforce their will onto earth.
  4. I am pretty sure the current theory says the moon was formed from earth crust debris. So it is a giant Earth Rock Visible light is distorted even just looking out of your Atmosphere. So much so, putting observatories in space is highly beneficial. And if you want to get a high bandwith, highly precision measuring is required. And there is also the part where a relay sat is easier to move around then a planetary receiver. So there are plenty of reasons to go for a satellite relay anyway. Oh yes. And that is actually one of the biggest design challenge with them. You need enough power generation. The first sea trials will be on transport ships that are not remotely battle worthy, so they can put a sufficient generator on too. The Zumwalt class was designed to have the power generation to spare for stuff like a railgun, on a military platform. And there is a decent argument that we might see a return of the cruiser and battleship for Railguns. As for firing it more then once: Of course you want to be able too! Afaik our current research is mostly about making it possible to use the barrel equivalent more then once. And even if you got the Capacitors to store the total energy for one shoot, they might loose power quicker then you can produce it. Or give you a unuseably long reload time.
  5. That is done by making it a one way link only (Posession is linked to Desolid, not the other way around). And as it would be a inherent power, it would propably be a -0. The Ghost can not be forced to turn the power off with anything less then a Transform wich removes the power. You are right that it does not make sense to buy the same power twice. And I asume that example is simply a mistake by the books writer. He propably had a Template or something for that Posession power (wich consists of Desolid+Posession) and did not realize the target already had Desolid.
  6. How to tame your Dragon 3: I am still uncertain if Toothless is more of a Dog or a Cat. And now I will propably never find out, as this is the final installment for these Characters. Lego Movie 2: The same surrprise awesomeness as Movie 1, with a large bunch of good twists and a bunch of callbacks.
  7. I and my friends are currently uncertain if we should go into it. Mostly it is those eyes. The CGI enlargement puts them plain into the uncanny valley for us.
  8. Didn't she get into superheroing because of someone mispelling a internet adress? Plus it did work out for her so well, she fought to keep it
  9. That is what the Campaign limits are there for. For them it does not mater if you got those Defenses from Armor, Combat Luck or "Spell of Protection". Or if you got those DC from Weapons, STR or CSL (Maneuvers like Haymaker are often allowed to add beyond that). Only that you reach a certain total maters. And that you should not reach that total. "Do not stack" rules are usually the tool for game Systems that do not have an idea such as Caps. They can be a nice "quick and dirty" rules, but usually we do have better tools in the Hero books.
  10. Definitely. If you want to take a look at it, Extra History has a few Episodes on early Christianity: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1ZZeCDGHJE
  11. Then you just buy CSL/OC, possibly with Limitations. I am pretty confident I could do the math to derive PSL from OCV. The details vary a bit, but the base idea is the same.
  12. It is one of hte "Catch all" powers like Transform. And I agree it is a whole lot less defined. HSMA 244 also has Rules for a "Feint" Combat Maneuver. And HSMA does cover "Ranged Martial Arts" as well, so using these things with Pistols would be fully in line with the intention.
  13. If the being is inherently Desolidified that means it has a Desolidification power. One with advatanges like "Inherent" and limitations like "Always on". Indeed the "ghost thing" is even the example for the Inherent Advatantage: " Persistent Powers that are Always On (see 6E1 367), or which in the GM’s judgment function in a similar fashion to being Always On, can be made Inherent. An Inherent Power is one that reflects a character’s natural state of being. For example, ghosts are naturally intangible (Inherent Desolidification), and many characters have tails (Inherent Extra Limbs, the most common example of an Inherent Power that’s not Always On). Inherent Powers cannot be Drained or “turned off ” — you can’t make a ghost solid by using Drain Desolidification on him, for example. They also can’t be improved or boosted through Absorption, Aid, or the like. However, Transforms and Powers Usable On Others can alter or remove an Inherent Power." - 6E1 128
  14. I am not aware of any existing Insanity, Corruption or Addiction System in Hero. Building one is certainly possible. Supplements like Dark Champions might have some ideas. Mecahnics that deal with Exposure to extreme heat or cold might be a good starting point and 6E2 142 hsa those covered. The darkness as you describe it sounds like a "Environmental Effect", just not a typical one. People that play games with such Systems are most likely to have some ideas how to port them (and their feel). Call of Cuthulu and maybe the odd Star Wars games (with a Darkside Mechanic) are the only ones that come to mind. I do remember a few people posting about playing such games over on "Quote of the week from my Gaming Group" Thread. Personally I play Warhammer Fantasy, but we are not actually using Corruption/Insanity mechanics thus far.
  15. I have literally no idea what you are talking about. Please explain.
  16. You mean those people who insist he is not even a dwarf planet?
  17. I remember a Group of Youtube Videos like that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjR-L7ZlfYo I managed to get a smartphone before the 3rd Decade of 2000 came around. Maybe in decade 3 I get it mobile internet too
  18. Not to mention the functional similarity. And the price similarity. And the advantage similarities.
  19. The thing is that with Multipowers you can ot use all teh powers at the same time. That is why they are cheaper. That being said, I once did something thinking about how to put Multipowers into VPP's and vice versa, by treating the whole Multipower like a single power. It could at least be generalized. You build a Multipower that has a monolythic cost. Then apply Area of Effect to it. I am still not certain that this is a build/power that can be balanced. It is just too swingy. And even if you could make it, I doubt anybody would use it. Because again: Too swingy. Any Randomess would have to be a limitation. But how much, depends on the "time lost" formula . Wich will be different in a game where turning blue has you killed by the gods vs. a normal game where turning blue just makes you fell a bit ... blue.
  20. ... Does she have a cat? If so, what is it's name?
  21. I asume you are using some version of PHP and thus MySQL? Then there is not much room for optimisation. If it was a MS SQL server you would have nice stuff like the Filestream storage Attribute. And stuff like the Output syntax. You can say what you want about MS Product prices, but they do have some of the nicest features for professional developers.
  22. Yes it is. A dwarf Planet is still a planet.
