Re: Enforcer's new Campaign!
For an IT guy who works from home maybe he wrote and maintains a specialized internal software package for a large dispersed company. He might be on call for support for the software, but otherwise left alone to work on bugs and upgrades.
Maybe he'd have to take the odd call while on an adventure. He could use a cell phone and a headset. I could just see it now:
Hero: "Inter-Data tech support, Mike speaking. How can I help you?"
Villain: "What? Blast your cursed swing-line, I'll soon be free of it!"
Hero: "Have you tried closing the application and restarting it?"
Villain: "Ugh! You dare lay hands on Invictor?! I will teach you the meaning of pain!"
Hero: "ARRGH!" "Did you see any error messages pop up before it crashed?"
Villain: "NOO! You've crushed my Omni-Staff! DIE WORM! Hey, who are you talking to?"
Hero: "It sounds like you'll have to do a reboot." "Unghf!" "Let's try that and see if it loads the database again."
Villain: "Are you on the phone?! You DARE take a call while fighting INVICTOR?!"
Hero: "Whuf!" "Okay, it looks like the database connection is back, go to your file menu and see if it saved your last changes."
Villain: "PAY ATTENTION TO ME!"

Hmm. I don't expect to live long enough (or hang around long enough, or post enough catgirl pix) to get to that state.
I'm also geek enough to think that rep power should be a monotonic but nonlinear function of rep received, but I almost expect negative rep to be reimplemented merely for making such a suggestion.

Nobody is giving me any rep! That's it I'm off! I've had it with the lot of ya. Don't bother locking the door cause I won't be back!
Well until Oct 8/9th. Tomorrow I start my holidays for one week. I most likely won't get on the HGDB to view the threads unless I stop at a Net cafe at night. So this will probably be the last time I see most of you for a week.
take care and be a hero!

Enforcer84 got a reaction from L. Marcus in The "Nice Happy" Thread
Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread
Today is my birthday. I am listening to an old Ace Frehley song on my computer and it reminds me of a happy thing.
I have laughably "bad" taste in music. Believe me.
When I turned 19 I had been to exactly zero concerts in my life time. I set out to change that. I saw Quiet Riot, Joe Satriani, Chicago, and Styx in the next year and a half. Around then I decided I wanted to see my favorite artists in concert before I shuffled off this mortal coil and they were (at that time) Styx (check), Ace Frehley, and Billy Squier. (Yeah, I know, bad taste in music, so what?) So, the following year, Ace did a show in Eugene, OR (more specifically neighboring Springfield) and I got to go. I even got a guitar pick thrown to me. It was cool. I saw Quiet Riot a second time. Then I saw Styx and Kansas in Portland. I saw Styx (my favorite band) again a few years later with a different line up. However, Billy Squier had pretty much fallen our of the picture. He'd released maybe five albums since his In the Dark salad days and I'd never even seen news of a tour. Then, in 2000, he toured with Styx and Bad Company for the 20th anniversary of In the Dark. The wife bought tickets for the two of us and my best friend who, at that time, was living in Seattle. The show was at the Gorge in George, Washington. It was...FRICKIN' STUPENDOUS! I screamed, I sang, I danced, I got a contact high from all the weed being smoked. It was by far the coolest venue for a concert ever and there were people everywhere! I bought three tee shirts, CD's ...and completed my list. I still rank it up there as the single coolest gift I have ever recieved from anyone.
It deserves to be here. Happy Happy.
