This is true.The biggest problem I have with the Spectre is not his occasional ludicrous power level,it's the fact that,for a Spirit of Vengeance,he doesn't take out the people who DESERVE to be taken out.Even if you ignore Luthor and the Joker,what about the Ultra-Humanite?Why wasn't that murderous psycho taken out years ago?

(Aside from the fact that Ayers Rock is a sacred Aboriginal site and also a major tourist attraction,it's already been done-Black Ghost had a hidden base there in the 2001 anime version of Cyborg 009).

Re: SPD and DEX for superheroic martial artists? I'd also give hime some Limited Shapeshifting-Superman originally had the ability to mold his facial features(though he soon lost this ability).

Re: Australia in the current CU I've also been working on Seeker myself.I've been building a 250-point version and a 350 point version,and have almost finished the 250-point version. Problem is,I've discovered that Seeker's actually got 155 points of disadvantages,so I'm rebuilding his disads from scratch. Anybody got any suggestions? (Yes,I do intend for "Code of The Chinese Knight" to be one of his Psych Lims.)

Re: SPD and DEX for superheroic martial artists? As do I,JmOz.I'm with Trebuchet-a superheroic martial artist should have superhuman combat ability,and the best way to represent that in the Hero System is superhuman DEX & SPD.

Re: Needed for Champions You also might want to take a look at the various books in the Ultimates series.(I have The Ultimate Martial Artist and The Ultimate Brick). I've also heard that The Ultimate Skill is well worth picking up.

Re: All Of Them Damn Martial Bricks Unfortunately Nucleon,Trebuchet has a point-Stan Lee got away with a lot back in the 60's,and third-person speak was one of those things. However,you're also right-it's part of the genre that superheroes have differing abilities,unless they're part of the same "family".Even then,they should have something to make each character unique.Here's my suggestion:if our players are getting stomped on a regular basis,have another better-balanced NPC hero team come in to save the day.If that doesn't give your players the wake-up call they so obviously need,then talk to the players and tell them your concerns.

Here's a few suggestions: (1)If Muskateer's Weapons Elements apply to his Kinetic Baton,then he can add his HA damage to his Defensive and Offensive Strikes for a total of 7d6 and 11d6 damage respectively. (20As he's a Martial Artist,perhaps his DEX should be upped to 26,and he should drop the level with MP and 0ne level with his Servelian Knife Fighting.

Actually,radioKAOS,if Totem can only use one "gift" at a time,it would be better if he put them in a Visible Multipower with nothing but ultra slots.If Totem can use multiple "gifts' simultaneously,but at reduced effectiveness,then the VPP is the way to go.

RadioKAOS,I have a few suggestions for improving your character: (1) Take a Style Disadvantage for 10 points & drop the experience.This character screams "Newbie super" to me.Besides,you'll need the extra 2 xp for my other suggestions. (2) Drop the +2 levels to DCV and purchase the Martial Block and Martial Dodge maneuvers. (3) Replace the Fast Strike with the Punch maneuver (which gives him +2 DCV and +2d6 to STR Damage). (4) Give the guy +2 levels with Punch for 4 points. Yes.he will have a lower DCV when using his Offensive Strike,but only then. Also,if his High Range Radio Hearing is in a Gauntlet,shouldn't it be an Obvious Focus?That would save another 2 points. (5) Drop the Find Weakness!Your character has a 60 point Multipower! Those twenty points could be better spent elsewhere.Even if they were only used to purchase Extra DC's they would be better spent.Most bricks have Lack of Weakness,after all.Though,personally I'd buy three more ultra slots (mostly ranged attacks) for the Multipower,and spend the remaining 2 xp on purchasing PS:Mathematics at 11-.

If a character has,as a Multipower slot,the following Aid: 3u Cellular Enhancement;1d6Aid,max of 30 points(+24 to maximum),All Hardened Defenses (+1),Delayed Return Rate(5/minute)(+1/4),Persistent(+1/2),Self Only (-1/2),Not when exposed to certain radiation (-1/4) what happens to the Aided Defenses if the character switches from the Aid to an EB in the same Multipower and then turns on the Aid in the next phase?

Re: I am a comic book dinosaur. This is true.Another posssibility is the 2001 anime version of Cyborg 009,a classic 60's manga.I'm still trying to get the second volume,as I tend to be a completist. (And it's become pretty clear to me that The Hidden Fortress wasn't the only major Japanese influence on Star Wars.Darth Vader is clearly a homage to Black Ghost,the major villain of the Cyborg 009 series).
