And obviously nobody on these boards but me has seen Last Man On Earth starring Vincent Price,but have seen the awful remake The Omega Man.This is terrible. Interestingly enough,the BBCTV version of Day Of The Triffidswas far superior to the 60's movie,being far closer to the source material.It is probably the best P/A miniseries I've seen,and is available on DVD.

True enough.In fact,from my memory of the novel,I'd say that Danner would never have done what Roy Thomas had him do in Young All-Stars,as he was too afraid of what would happen if his new race fell out and began to fight amongst themselves. My objection to the Hugo Danner/Clark Kent connection is that Abnego's serum didn't provide any protection against poison or disease.The Golden Age Superman was as resistant toward disease & poison as he was to everything else.

This is true,but remember that the version of Hugo Danner that appeared in the series was almost identical to Phillip Wylie's original version,save for the fact that he was still alive in the '40s-as a supervillian! Creator of the Sons of the Dawn (Indians with his powers) he apparently committed suicide when it was revealed that they had little or no resistance to the germs outside Maple White Land.

Instead of buying a Naked Power Modifier,how about buying an HA (or EB) with a Power Advantage?You can buy them as a slot in a Multipower without having to beg the GM. E.G.Shockwave:8d6EB,Explosion(+1/2),Hole In The Middle(+1/4)(70 Active Points),No Range(-1/2),Only Vs. Ground Targets(-1/4) (40 Real Points)

Re: Legal or No: Multiple SFX on power, sans Linked If you treat it as a +1/4 Power Advantage,here's how I would write it up in Hero System terms: Multiple SFX:This Attack powers is considered to have multiple different special effects simultaneously.In game terms,a target struck by this attack must use the LOWER of its PD or ED to determine the damage it takes.

Also if you're going the "Martial Brick" route,I'd recommend that Maxima purchase the Brick Tricks martial art and 4 Extra DC.Assuming a 30STR,she would then do 12d6 with a Fast Strike. I'm recommending Extra DC because they also boost the STR boost from manuevers such as Grabs and Escapes,Flashes & NNDs,and (to a lesser effect) the base damage done by martial Killing Attack maneuvers.

If you're taking the Multipower route with Maxima,the Comeliness slot should be the lowest in Active Point terms,because the stat is so cheap.Perhaps it should be part of a Combined Power slot together with Presence? (I.E. Maxima might have the following slot World's Prettiest Heroine 3u:+20PRE,+20COM (30 Active points)

Re: Kong: the movie After watching the Kong remake,I realized that the theater where Kong was on exhibition is the restored Civic movie theatre,in Central Auckland. (And yes,it really is like what is seen in the movie).

Re: Revamping the Horsemen How would you rebuild Destruction's aura of destruction in 5th Edition terms? I'd add the Penetrating advantage,as a 1d6RKA isn't very dangerous,even if it's bought AP.It also seems to be a Persistent Power,as it's active for as long as Destruction is in her Aspect form.

Re: Retcon the CU It's funny,but as far as I can tell,even the supporters of the "all superpowers require magic" don't seem to really like it-their arguments all seem to rely on the old statement "your universe doesn't have to be the same as the official CU".

Re: The Munchkin Build Contest Or how about the following Aid construct: 1d6Aid,30 pointsMax,Loses 1pt/Turn(+1/4),Variable Effect (all Hardened Defenses)(+1),Persistent(+1/2),Always On(-1/2),Not vs certain forms of radiation(-1/4),Self Only(-1/2) (60 Active Points,27 Real points). (The character in question has 10 points of Resistant PD & ED that is Hardended vs AP & Penetrating attacks,and has 5 points of Power Defense,also bought with the same type of Hardened.The idea was to boost his defenses to normal superhero levels).

Re: Marvel/Dc Writeups Also,on the Black Canary 2 writeup,the "Not usable in Vacuum" Limitation was taken repeatedly on some of the Multipower slots.Also,if the Flashes are part of the different forms of the Canary Cry,shouldn't they be Linked to the main Power in the Multipower slots in question? And should Wonder Woman have Damage Resistance? She isn't supposed to be bulletprooof,after all.
