  1. Re: Infinite Crisis Busiek has been writing some of the Superman books.
  2. Re: [split] Paris Hilton-Supervillainess! [builds] I think the poster was trying to write "sentence commuted".Talk about a Freudian slip........
  3. Re: The NEW Champions of Vancouver -- What Would You Like To See? The +1 with Kinetic Bolt and Variable Load should be replaced with a +1 to Psychokinesis Multipower (it's more versatile and costs the same).
  4. Re: Isis, take 2 Actually it sounds more like Paragon Isis. The Paragon is actually Ranma as a magical girl (yes it's one of the better Ranma/Sailor Moon crosses).
  5. Re: Flying Carpet and skills? I'd allow the character to repair minor damage with a PS:Weaving skill. Now I think about it,if the carpet's only power is Flight, you'd be better off buying it as a vehicle,as a magic carpet should be able to take several minor hits before being rendered useless, whereas a focus would take one point of BODY damage and cease functioning.
  6. Re: Flying Carpet and skills? As for your question,i'd require any magic carpet operator to take TF:Magic Carpet in order to safely use the carpet out of combat.Combat Piloting (Magic Carpet) would only be required if the superhero was going to use the carpet in battle. (The above only applies if the magic carpet is bought as a Vehicle).
  7. Re: Flying Carpet and skills? If the carpet can be attacked it's either an Obvious Focus,a Follower (if sentient) or a Vehicle. Most carpet focii are probably OAFs.Carpets bought as vehicles have DEF that doesn't protect the user. As a rough guide,if the PC is the only one (or one of a chosen few) who can control the carpet, then it's a focus,if anyone can control it,it's a vehicle. Is this a help?
  8. Re: Question: Chi Power Defense I thought that HTH combat levels only applied to melee attacks anyway.
  9. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Took you long enough to figure it out.I thought it was Kasumi as soon as I read the phase "150-point Housewife":)
  10. Re: Golden Age Superheroes as Pulp Heroes That's true enough-things never seemed to work out for Danner. Oh,and Oddhat if memory serves Danner wasn't immune to poison (unless Abnego's formula worked differently on humans) unlike Superman. He also never performed any of Superman's speed tricks.
  11. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Actually,"Thank you" in French is "merci beaucoup".Obviously neither of you studied French in school....
  12. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Wight On!
  13. Re: Best Iron Age titles? The Hellsing manga is definitely Iron Age.
  14. Re: Cap is dead!!!! This is true.Millar seems incapable of proper plotting & characterisation, hence his overreliance on shock tactics.
  15. Re: Cap is dead!!!! Marvel has published murdering villains who have showed more ethical behaviour than Quesada ever has. I refer to the Peter David version of the Leader, naturally.
  16. Re: [Marvel Universe] Female Martial Artists? Has anybody mentioned Thundra? Wrestling is a martial art,you know.... And let's also remember the late Snapdragon who was eventually killed by Diamondback (though,to be fair, she had attacked Diamondback first as revenge for a prior defeat and nearly killed her).
  17. Re: [Third times a charm...] Any interest in a Defenders PbP game? Yes Please!!!!!!!(Dibs on the Doctor Strange legacy).
  18. Re: Capes: When Superheroes stop being four color and start being real Actually,I wasn't objecting to people earning their living by using their powers. What I was objecting to was the fact that reality TV participants seem to go on those shows with the intent of becoming rich and famous. Not exactly the sort of thing that makes for a heroic superteam.
  19. Re: Capes: When Superheroes stop being four color and start being real I'm with Bloodstone.Doesn't anyone else remember the Golden Age of Superheroes when Superman leapt away right after saving people. These people seem more interested in the perks & money rather than actually helping those in need.
  20. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Americans are SO Peverted...
  21. Re: The Munchkin Build Contest This is true-to be a true munchkin power, that 1d6 EB needs LOTS of advantages.
  22. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Actually, according to Wikipedia,"Plastron" can also mean: * "Plastron" is also the name of a half-jacket used in the sport of fencing. * "Plastron" is also the name of the bulge on an aircraft, such as the Airbus A340, under the fuselage between the wings that is used to correct airflow around the engine pylons. * A "plastron" is also a thin permanent layer of air around the body of some aquatic insects, held in place by hydrophobic hairs, and acting as a physical gill. And what on EARTH is a "dicky"? (Humor me,I'm a New Zealander).
  23. Re: Running jokes in your campaign Words fail me.....
  24. Re: The Godzilla Scenario Here are a couple of nasty options for Godzilla scenarios (including titles of some movies which used these options): (1) Poisonous Body/Blood (The Beast from 20 000 Fathoms / The Giant Behemoth):Something about the creature's body means even injuring the beast can be dangerous. In The Beast from 20 000 Fathoms the creature's blood was contaminated by an ancient, lethal disease & The Giant Behemoth was contaminated by lethal levels of radiation. (2) Regrown Body (Reptilicus / War of the Gargantuas):the creature can regrow it's body from any remaining portion .Worse yet,any part of it's body that is separated from the rest will eventually grow into another full-sized monster.
  25. Re: Anime series as a campaign I wonder if anybody else is interested in Ranma 1/2? I've read the original manga series, and think it would make a better campaign than the anime series.
