HeroGM reacted to Chris Goodwin in Crits and such
I've thought of different ideas for crits. Like, choose from one of the following:
Maximum damage (the default) Choice of hit location Ignore some armor (maybe half, maybe all) Automatic impairing or disabling wound (making it an actual "critical hit" -- hitting something critical to the functioning of the opponent) Some other choice for the player (eye shot? Cut off arm?) Luck roll (also triggering target's Unluck)

HeroGM got a reaction from Trencher in DC Artwork
Red Hood and Cyber Force. and yeah the DC in the title is supposed to be Dark Champion's, not just DC (as in Comics)
And just because I want to toss it in here real quick....I like the car...trying to remember where I've seen it before. More Pulp then Dark Champion's I know.

If I had my way this would be the cover (or close to it) for Dark Champions 6thE.

Twitter! Brett Booth is a wonderful artist along with the rest.
I agree about the van, it could just be a wip. Both that and the bike are due in Nightwing Annual.

HeroGM got a reaction from Trencher in How to build a storm.
Change Environment for both wind level and a negative to ocv, area of effect: radius. You could link telekinesis to it as well depending on effect.
Oh, may want to add hole in the middle

HeroGM got a reaction from Khas in Hero booklets
I operate mainly on a cell phone currently. So this helps - plus I can take a normal stapler and flat eraser and staple them as booklets.
To clarify - these are my personal copies. I do not mass produce, sell, give or anything else. For example the Hero Designer doc has my notes in it in what tags work and don't. The grimoire and superskills have highlighters in them, green for will consider red for no way.
The parole card was marking a page.
And this is what Mr. Walter's has to say:

HeroGM reacted to Simon in Advantages, Strength, and You
Any Area at +1/4 gives you up to 2x2 meter areas (that must be adjacent). You would affect everyone within the defined areas unless you also purchase Selective, which largely negates much of the benefit of AOE attacks (you'd need to roll to hit each selected target at their normal DCV).
1. You are incorrect - a 50 STR character would have a base STR attack of 10DC. Applying the Advantage to the character's STR would allow them to make that 10DC attack on an area -- that's the point.
2. You're talking about purchasing AoE: Any Area as a Naked Advantage on the character's STR. That's fine -- it's a separate Power in that case and is something that they can choose to use (or not). It depends on your concept as to whether Naked Advantage is better or if you should just apply the Advantage to the character's base STR.
3. It would not interact with Martial Arts at all -- applying Advantages (or Limitations) to Martial Arts is not something for the faint of heart to even consider.

HeroGM got a reaction from Beast in Hero booklets
Stuck it here just cause.
Lately I've been printing the smaller hero books as booklet size 8.5x5.5 (11" on its side). Next up is the Pulp Hero adventures by Steve L. Along with some of the older modules.

HeroGM got a reaction from archer in Auto Fire & Damage Shield Which First?
Ok, I'm taking it that Character "A" is using a 3 shot autofire attack to hit Character "B" who has damage shield.
I would allow the character to get what he paid for (and rolled) and land all three shots. While every thing is going on in one second the damage shield is a reaction.
[I'm being an @$$ I know. The way your question reads is is that the damage shield has autofire 3. It's not until the second sentence it makes it clear. And Autofire on damage shields are fun ]

HeroGM got a reaction from Crusty in Sonic Based Stun
Do you have APG? It has a write up for "voice range".
You could try Pre attack linked with a dex/str drain ( oe do the drain by itself).

HeroGM reacted to Gandalf970 in How to build equipment with negative effects?
I used some of the options in Fantasy Hero by giving negatives to DCV and DEX until they bought off the penalties. This stopped players from picking up armor that is for sure. I will also add the movement penalty to future campaigns.

HeroGM reacted to Tech in About Multiform and a sane version of Duplication
I could easily see the power having been written with duplicates dying off and not losing those points. If this has been a Champions game, in this case a player wanting to change the power and concept of the hero so it went from 3 heroes to 2.
If you don't like Duplication, I vaguely recall someone writing their Duplication in an entirely different way. It's only vague so I'll take my best guesses:
a) are your duplicates all attacking one person? Buy it as bonus OCV or autofire
b) are your duplicates attacking different people? Buy it as selective area effect
c) etc
Of course, this won't work if one duplicate is flying away to check on a crime scene while another sneaks into a suspicious warehouse, and yet another is piloting the team airplane. Still, it was an interesting take on a hero with 'duplication'.
