  1. I seen a programme on the Discovery channel about the Viking berserkers. The wives would pick the Magic mushrooms in Autumn and make a kind of tea from it. Then the women would collect thier piss and brew a kind of beeer from that. That is what the vikings would drink on the longships before they went on a raid. No wonder they went nuts.
  2. I found that guns in Western Hero were just not deadly enough unless you use all the optional rules for bleeding, diabled, injured, hit locations etc. After all, a 1d6 rka can take a lot of shooting before people actually fall.

    Tank Wars

Well I am running a game on Saturday and decided I wanted to keep the PC's manageable so I designed the characters myself and gave 25+25 to spend. Alchemist 10 str Pick pocket 10 str mercenary str 13 Blacksmith str 16 Duellist 13 str Elven Archer 10 str with +6 str only to use bows (-2) I will want a bloody explanation as to why anybody wants to get stronger. Lets face it weight training was for circus strongmen not for normals.

    Tank Wars

I try to remember that the people with stats above 15 are very rare indeed, not every fighter type should have 20 str IMHO. More should have 13-15 I think.
  5. This all really moot unless we can tell exactly what armour actually weighs. Until we know what a chain-mail shirt weighs then we can never really know how limiting armour really is. I wonder if Steve and Co. will give actual weights of things. Anyone know realistic weights for 14th century style armour?
  6. Personally I don't like Com much either. I really like the way GURPs handles it, with tangible benefits built into the system. GURPs has stolen so much from HERO, I think that it is about time we took something back. Perhaps buy it as skill levels in Presence based skills or roll it into Presence and have only one characteristic?
  7. Good Stuff. I'm sure that Foxbat would insist on Personal immunity to allow him and only him to laugh. I wonder if Mechanon or Dr. D. could really be behind this nefarious plot? I can imagine that the lid would really blow quite quickly after the start of this plot. Perhaps Foxbat himself would ask for help from the assembled heroes? Perhaps the PCs might notice that Foxbat was the only one laughing?
  8. Grüß aus München. State Street Bank has its HQ in Boston with over 10,000 employees in the Boston area alone. I work in the München branch of the Bank and will ask a few questions for you. Perhaps if you had a list of questions, a questionaire, I could get specific answers for you. have you considered a travel guide to Boston, a Rough Guide is usually jam-packed with interesting info about a city.
  9. While making a joke about Germans this morning I had an idea for a scenario. What would happen if someone "kidnapped" the worlds sense of humour? I'm talking Foxbat, obviously. What could he get for it? An island, cash, what? What he want for its safe return to humanity? How did he get it in the 1st place? What would be the effect on the world if no-one could laugh, ever again? Yes even at Aglars hairstyle! Would the world go insane? Would comedians be out of business? Would anybody care? How do I go about implementing it in a scenario? I was thinking of making it a sub plot in a scenario and then the Heroes would have to investigate it, perhaps. Anyway I'm still at the ideas stage at the moment, so fire away with your thoughts.
  10. Everybody knows the Caped Chameleons susceptability to tartan. He would be an easy target for my kilted minions, mwuhahaha. Oh and I've seen pictures of Darren and he looks tougher than you.
  11. Hey Keith, I'm supposed to be in there somewhere, could you look me up and see if I am or do I need to go round and pummel the Caped Chameleon some. Unleash the Tartan terror. Mwuhahaha!!!!
  12. I've been thinking about running a Band of Brothers thing recently, it would be excellent IMHO. GL.

    Super Names

Re: Re: Too General/Nebulous or Specific Part 4 [There's a rhythm and feel to a good super name. Hwarang has it; Judo and Kung Fu do not.[/b] Hold on a second there fella... Batfink's "my wings are like a shield of steel" sidekick was called Karate! He made onto the telly so he can't be too bad! If Kararte can make it why couldn't Kung Fu or Judo?
  14. I had a thought last night when trying to sleep. Why not just make it a big RKA with the limitation "all or nothing". Either you kill the target outright, i.e. -10 body for someone with 10 body, or you have no effect at all!. No saving throw but the bigger they are the harder it is to kill them. You would need to roll 30 body to kill someone with 15 body and it would be like them "making a saving throw" if you rolled less than 30! What da ya think?
  15. Thinking about this when I was "on the throne" today. Maybe when you see people putting up there arms to block that is really the attacker rolling the arms on the hit location chart? That is how we as a GM and players put it into gamespeak?
  16. Your first post was a belter! Keep up the good work!
  17. Global Warming must be moving into overdrive since I left "Sunny" Scotland.
  18. Europeen Enemies made me laugh at least, especially getting countries names mixed up. Very shabby indeed! Foxbat Unleashed was shocking and wins my vote! BTW I told someone on the boards that I would "gift" them the book if they sent me the price of postage. I sent the book thjey did not send the cheque! No wonder they call me Billy Hunt!
  19. That idea is so good they made a movie out of it... With his stats why did they ever run away from the investigators...unless? What were the good/bad guys stats like?
  20. This thread has made me think about my favourite Kung Fu film from the 80's, "The man from Hong Kong." Total pish of course but there are a couple of great fight scenes, one in a Dojo another in a restraunt and kitchen. My favourite part is that one of the combatants hasbright yellow underwear on and splits his trousers up the middle during a fight scene. I now wonder if that was super-subtle comedy or just a perfect accident?
  21. You can programme VCR's? To do what? a)Assasinate people? b)Become Mormons? or c)something worse than both of my examples, your choice?
  22. Don't forget this was 4th edition when anything above 20 was "a bit special". Never mind 5 speed! What did you think of the book as a whole Aglar? Me I'm a big fan, perhaps because it is a genre that I am not too familiar with and I got lots of ideas and insights from it. ps one of my friends gets a mention in the book, look for Bill King and Wolf Riders, in the bibliography I think? God Bless Scotland.
  23. I'm guessing that is for a .50cal hangun? The kind peeps on this board explaind the difference to me a while ago. Something about smaller casings have less gunpowder have less velocity have less damage or something? Alistair "misses his pal wee Alan, the gun nut, who lives in Japan and knows this sh1t" Currie
  24. ....or his ocv or his.......cute picture? No way could an army stop him with that write-up!
