    DC Assault

As others have said. The massed forces of the United States Military should take out almost anyone. How many Bricks even can take autofire 3d6+1 AP, +1 stun? (25mm on bradley, 4 or so to a platoon) combined arms tactics should shred most supers unless they find a way to make really innovative use of cover. ANd the classic .50 sniper rifle to the head becomes a serious threat when there are 50 of them within a kilometer. how about the newish shaped charge round from tanks. Accurate to 4 or 5000 meters(4000 fps) and capable of penetrating about 1/2 meter of steel. a battery of 155 howitzers doing a time on target attack. 18 shots each leveling anything within 20 meters that is not heavily armored, falling within say a 50 meter square. proximity fused anti aircraft rounds Laser guided 155 mm howitzer rounds with armor against combined arms tactics, unless they are on Superman's level, they are toast. and even if they are, you know the spooks have plans to deal with them. If they don't the campaign needs smarter spooks.
  2. I played "big john" as a fantasy character. I made a characater last week (d-20 modern, only game that I could get to work out schedule wise ) "Boy named Sue" his name is Sioux O'Reilly. "6'3" 245lbs. (I have only briefly introduced him, he may end up even bigger.
  3. I really enjoyed the first book, the second was not as good, I have but have not read the most recent.
  4. I did say "most" Sure real blades varied a lot, but...
  5. well, at 4 pounds, the "warbrand" is heavier than most real bastard swords. Check http://www.allsaintsblades.com/index.htm for some realistic weight swords. or http://swordforum.com/ for general information. Someone passed the links to me, now I do the same.
  6. In some ways Path of the fury is one of his very best. And I love them all.
  7. 2 good ones! Also David drakes "ranks of bronze", and "foreign legions" and David Webber's "Excaliber option" HUman low techs kidnapped to serve as janissaries in space.
  8. We ran a fantasy camaign that turned out almost a Dark Campions/D&D cross. I was running an 8'tall character (think kind of half ogre) that couldn't hang onto money. He tended to buy "toys" at every opportunity. Once we were trapped in a tomb when the iron lid slammed down on us. After MUCH effort, we managed to break out of the trap. About that time I remembered the "melt Metal" wand he had picked up a while ago... iirc 2d6 cumlative transform, metal to molten metal, change back by pouring it into a mold of the right shape. They NEVER FORGAVE THAT. On another night one of the other characters had been SECRETLY playing "lets create a minotaur" using a magic Gene splicing belt. He was keeping his cows in MY barn, and my herder came to me wild-eyed and said I had to get down there... (other character was a con man who on about the 4th night of the campaign tried to recruit some troops. Rolled a 6 on his fast-talk and a 3 on his oratory, iirc- new religion founded!) He tried to convince me that the human headed calf was the fault of one of the other characters "I Don't know, He's Crazy" but rolled an 18 on fast talk! He was more shocked that he failed against my character... the known gullible one
  9. I hated it when I went to martial throw the bad-assed half Demon type, and the GM (who had made a similar ruling years before) casually informed me that the target had density increase to the point he weighed 10,000 lbs. (something like that) Since I was a low level martial artist with about 25 str, (5 from density increase) this really chaffed my hide.
  10. IMO Manson is one of the better arguments for the death penalty.
  11. Do you mean we're not talking about the Val Kilmer version? RUN!!!
  12. JUst reading this... WHy did a buffy kill 2 apparently normal men, one a cop or ex-cop???? WHy is the SOB assisting her?
  13. I LIKE!!!!! I must agree. Your art was always good, but the newer stuff is even better!
  14. Re: Demon Star I really like this one, especially the way the feet are "different" However, does he have 3 toes and 4 fingers? Not impossible, I know, but I wasn't sure. Martial artist with force field of some kind?
  15. Darn, I had forgotten how much I liked that comic. Thanks for the memory.
  16. The others have been good, but that one is BEAUTIFUL!!!
  17. WHo really cares??? Only saw one or two episodes of Birdman, Tried to avoid Blue Falcon after 2nd show...
  18. I have to agree here. I'd rate the '73 winchester as a1.5- 2d6-1, out of a rifle it is similar to a .41 magnum in a pistol, iirc. Especially the high velocity hunting load. For the .45-70, etc, about the same damage, with a +2 stun mult, or a little more damage with a +1. 1.5-2 times the bullet weight at about the same velocity as a .44 magnum in a pistol, off the top of my head.
  19. Re: Re: Kuei Dean also did Oni, Interesting low power superheroes/villains.
  20. Good idea. some of those books were quite interesting. "Spell sword" and "Sharra's Exile" I liked quite a bit. Hawkmistress, iirc was pretty good too.
  21. Re: 2 point STR I'd just put HA to 5 points and drop the lim. just a fast thought.
  22. I think I read that the "Interceptor" vest cost about $5000 so about the same cost as a .50 BMG rifle. (mid range )
  23. backwards. the extra damage is only tissue. does not effect armor penetration in any way. 1d6 rolls 6, rolls 6 total damage 9 Hits unarmored target, does 9 hits 6 def, does 0
  24. I liked the Bigglies too. ANd many of the magic items. I wonder where those rules are? Still better than D&D
