  10. Re: Archaeologist If you can find a copy of "Gods Graves and Scholars" subtitled the story of Archaeology by C.W. Ceram. He covers the major greats and how they got there like nobody elses buisiness. Like how cracking the Rosetta Stone wasn't an overnight thing we make it sound like these days. It took a special man years to find then prove his solution was the best (Champollion). Most of the early Scholars had huge skill sets, alot of them had high Pre (for dealing with locals proerly) as well as the skills to go with that Pre. Survival Skills, Money would not be off base, nor would Luck (many of the realy greats had that in Scads!) If you run screaming for the hills from the 'viciuos monster' that is the little girls kitten stuck in a tree. a munchkin in your game is one that has an 8- Analyze Shrubbery roll. Your character is really proud of his just bought "TRS-80 Powers". The party healer needs a god call to heal one point of Stun. you need to push your strength to put on a t-shirt and jeans. You need defensive Pre to face down emoticons/smilies. The Mechanon of your campaign is a calculator watch. You end up taking stun from watching the bad guys get hurt in Home Alone. You can't take a shower because you will 'bee Drownded'. A ringtone on your cell phone counts as a 7d6 flash attack on it's lowest volume setting. Action figures have more Presence, Stun and Strength than you do. Trash Can lids require weapon familiariies.
  13. Re: What's the point? They're gonna escape anyways the point is you stop them THIS time. besides if DD or M Stayed in Prison you wouldn't have anyone to save you from that horribly misguided attempt by your mother to hook you up with the ugliest girl on the planet.

Re: Evaluation on an ability: Bounce Back Unless there is some sort sub rule I am not aware of buy more recovery with a limitation (like, only works when below 0 Stun) so that you automatically get to take advantage of the recovery from being stunned as well as boost your stun and End back up.

  16. Re: Super useless Just to be Ludicrous..... I built these as a counter to the Clairvoyance issue on bases. Windows: This power allows someone to see what is on the other side of the window for some vision based powers. Clarsentience(20), only to allow Some sight based senses (-1/4), only to show what is on the other side of the enclosed system (-1/2) No range (-1/2). 20 active points, 9 real. GM thinks: 'this is over building in the Hero System rules, use common sense handwavium powers instead."

Base with flight, (possibly some life support) and 1064 1d6 RKA, 5x penetrating, megascale on range. 1064 Computers built with all abilities needed to fire guns but like 1 speed, 10 Dex etc.... Skill levels for OCV. you could fit this on a 100 point character.... and yeah it is a cable clone....
  18. Would Limited Pre (say only for Defense or Only for Attacks) count as a part of the characteristics for Forced characteristics rolls by Change Environment?

The Spirit Had a kid Sidekick before WWII, and No, the Spirit isn't (and by the authors own indications and desires) a Superhero more of a pulp detective with only a few 'super' touches added to make the publisher happy (and a mask so thin you can see the Encephalic folds of his eyes!). Potentially arguable that he is a superhero however the whole thing is very very borderline at best.

  23. Re: What powers frustrate u & disrupt your campaigns? yeah the "cable clone" I got one in my campaign, but he has 10" teleport, and the without error rules. So he falls on his targets, I have a few plans though. now i have to institute the falling takes time rules.
