(That's a -0 Limitation, doesn't change the Active Points.) For that matter, any Constant Power could be given 4 @ 5-min CCs. Five Active Point ideas list: Armor, either 2/0 or 1/1 Physical/Energy Damage Resistance 5/5 Density Increase (5 points) Duplication (1 Duplicate, up to 25 Character Points) Detect Magic (also works with any 5-point class of things) Nightvision add Discrimintory or Analyze to a Sense that doesn't have it 360-Degree Perception for Normal Sight Telescopic +10 to PER roll for Normal Sight Tracking for Smell/Taste group +1 to PER roll all Sense Groups +5 to Normal Sight or Normal Hearing Extra Limbs 1d6 Sight Flash (useful for a quick getaway or surprise) Flash Defense Flight 2" Force Field 3/2 (or other combinations) Gliding 5" Growth, 5 points Hearing or Smell Images Knockback Resistance, -2" Leaping +5" any type of Life Support to 5 points. Underwater Breathing, Extended Breathing, Safe Environments, and various Immunities... Luck 1d6 Mental Defense 5 points Mind Link, one single mind Missile Deflection, thrown objects Multiform, to 25 Character Points Power Defense, 5 points Running +2" any Skills and/or Skill levels (say, Lockpicking +1) Stretching 1" Summon, to 25 Character Points Swiming +5" Telekinesis, 3 STR Teleportation 2" any Cosmetic Transform 1d6 (make food better tasting) Tunneling, 1" through 1 DEF (useful for plowing the fields)

  4. Re: What would the character sheet for a MMA competitor look like? This coincides (oddy enough) with my reading of PS238 Hero. The metaprodigies there tend to have low PD/ED and no resistant defenses. Makes them taking BODY damage on an average roll with Normal attacks. Scary. So... how about PD/ED, Protects Against STUN Only (-1)? (Or flavor the Limitation to taste.) I was thinking of this as a core mechanic for Hero6 as well. I mean, you can do it with the RAW, but it seems to have a favored spot for more 'realistic' genres.

The No Range reflects the fact that Kendrick and the target have to remain in contact after the power is granted. **************** Thinking out loud here, Case 1: Desolid (40). Naked Advantage UAA +1 (40), 0 END for UAA +1/2 (20), Usable Simultaneously +1/2 (20). That's an 80 point Naked Advantage! Case 2: Desolid, 0 END +1/2 (60). Naked Advantage UAA +1 (40), Usable Simultaneously +1/2 (20). A 60 point Naked Advantage. Or am I using the Usable Simultaneously incorrectly here? Maybe I need to use Differing Modifiers...
  6. Kendrick the mage can assume Astral form (Desolid, affected by magic). He wants to be able to take another willing person with him (Usable Simultaneously (+1/2), No Range (-1/2) [Kendrick and the target must remain in physical contact]). So far, so good. However, this will cost 6 END per Phase for both Kendrick and the target. How do I build this for the following cases: 1. The target does not have to expend any END, and Kendrick does not have to expend any END above the base 6? 2. Kendrick can assume Astral form effortlessly (0 END), but must pay 6 END if he takes a target along (and the target can not pay the END cost)?

  12. Re: Linked to attack, must do body From published Powers, it's two Limitations - Linked (-1/2) and KA Must Do Body. Unfortunately, I'm on the road so IDHMBIFOM, and I don't remember the value for that Limitation. Look at any animal that has a poison attack for a writeup.

[edit] I won't post the whole writeup, but I don't think it's out of line to post that the ability has the Limitation: Requires A Successful Attack Roll (-1/2). This could also be used with the 5er expanded Trigger rules. [/edit]

While I agree that 5er is a good gaming value, and in-line or less expensive than other gaming systems... ... folks, the OP is living on $750 a month! That's below the 2008 HHS poverty guideline for a single person. link So, he's considering plunking down a *considerable* amount (for him) on a freaking gaming core book! Maybe it's worth it to him, maybe not... but realize that this is not a trivial decision. My recomendation is to purchase Sidekick for $15, and see where it goes from there.
  17. A Haymaker takes one extra Segment, and is launched at the end of the next Segment, after all characters who can act in that Segment have acted. (5er, p. 389) A character taking a Recovery expends a Full phase Action and it occurs at the end of the Segment (after all other characters who have a Phase that Segment have acted. (5er, p. 424) So if character A starts a Haymaker on character B during Segment 8, who then takes a Recovery on Segment 9, what happens?
  18. So, if a Multipower has overall Charges with the slots being both Instant and Continuing, how do they combine? For example, a magic ring allows the wearer to either fly for an hour or unleash an air blast four times a day. Air Ring Multipower, 40 AP Air Blast 6d6 Energy Blast, 4 Charges Flight 10" Flight, 4 Continuing Charges of 1 Hour Each Does the Multipower get to take an overall Limitation of 4 Charges? In other words, do regular and continuous charges equate?
