  1. Re: Your house rules you do NOT want to see as system rules I haven't read all the way through the thread, so forgive me if this has already been brought up (or is later on). After reading this post, I was reminded of the first X-Men Movie and how Xavier safely sat in a car and controlled Toad & Sabertooth. I think that Magneto came up with a very clever way to counter Xavier's tactics: He threatened the lives of the normals unless Xavier quit using his powers. By the way, I agree with this post. Cheers, Mags
  2. Re: Is this sick or what? Dr. Destroyer jots into his journal: "and add 'Baby on Board' signs to all robots..." Mags
  3. Re: Dungeon World An underground universe? I wonder how that would affect a dwarf's ability to intuit depth? Mags

  10. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Cheese poll! No, this isn't policitally related! My favorite is Provolone, followed closely by Munster! What's yours? Mags
  11. Re: persistent movement powers? I don't see why not, if your GM allows it. Mags
  12. Re: persistent movement powers? We have a PC in our group who has a persistant flight, governed by an A.I. for whenever he is knocked unconscious in battle. He must be in flight mode first, though. Anyway, the instructions are simple: Fly to home base. This character has awakened to find himself 200 or more miles away from the scene of battle, on course for the homebase. Thank goodness for the team radio! Mags
  13. Re: How do you deal with difficult powers I usually build my scenarios to include the possibility that at least one of the PCs can short-circuit it. But, chances are, the PC's Player might not notice or recognize the fact he can short-circuit the game and so the rest of the games goes as otherwise planned. While I do try to challange my group, I also do not like to punish my Players for having ingenuity, either in playing the game or in building their PCs. Mags
  14. Re: Master List of Distinctive Features You have Morbidly Obese, how about the other end of the spectrum. Either Skeletal, Unnaturally Lean, or Emaciated? Blurred Form Constant Motion Exhibits Internal Structure/Organ(s) No Distinctive Feature (for the ultimate in blandness) Powerful Mental Signature I would change "Not Human" to "Inhuman" (Not of ordinary human form; monstrous). Also, you might want to take a look at all of the published heroes & villains to cull the DFs from them. Cheers, Mags
  15. Re: Mental Powers: Classes of Mind Question While I like the idea of recognizing the different classes of minds, I think the 5th Edition rules requiring Mentalists to pay more to affect them all are unfair. No other attack form is limited to certain targets like the Mental powers are now, yet the cost for Mental powers remains the same. To create a mentalist that can affect all normal targets- like the energy blaster's EB can, or the brick's punch can- the PC has to be built with significantly more character points. And in campaigns where the Active Point is capped, the Mentalist PC is hampered even more. I'm sure there is a reasonable way to even out this problem. Any suggestions out there? I thought the 4th Ed was better in this regard, when a Mentalist could take a Limitation on a power for not being able to affect certain classes of minds. It made much more sense and didn't hurt the Mentalist character for game balance. Mags
  16. Re: Ok...Ummm...What Now? Man that woulda sucked if the hostage was in a timed death trap and the dead villain was the only one who knew where the hostage was... Mags
  17. Re: Catch the fever! Sneezing inside a mask? Eeeeeeeew!
  18. Re: Superhero Images Good, I thought it stood for peanut butter & jelly. Mags
  19. Re: PLEASE ! No more 'What would your character do ?' threads What we need is the ability to put entire threads on ignore. That would ease the load on the main list for everyone. Too bad we don't have that option. Mags PS: Except for Storn, who is a professional running a business, most of us artists have been keeping our outlet down to 2 threads (Superheroes & Supervillains) in the Champions area. I've wondered many times why some people start up a new art threads as they always end up lost in obscurity... the pics should be all kept in one thread, IMO. The Minis thread is a whole other deal...
  20. Re: PLEASE ! No more 'What would your character do ?' threads I am sooooo in agreement with you! I haven't read nor responded to any of these threads either. What a waste of electronic space. Mags Rep to Death Tribble for starting the protest! Yay!
  21. Re: What to do about missing evidence? I see a hostage situation coming on, with the trade off being a few dragon eggs for the lives of... many, many humans. Simple enough. Make the odds too tough for the heroes to beat, period. That will force the PC to turn over the eggs. Unfortunately, it will be to the bad guys. But hey, he did have the chance to give them to the Japanese athorities and he didn't. Such is. Mags
  22. Re: What to do about missing evidence? That all depends. If these dragon eggs are integral to the game, then have the PC convicted (unless he agrees to return the eggs) and then have the Player make a new PC to run. If the eggs are not important, then the PC can claim that he destroyed the eggs because they were a danger to society. Then, let him off with a slap on the wrist (probation). It's your game, so do what you want. Personally, I'd have the eggs get recovered from the pocket dimension by a third party if the PC refuses to hand them over. Mags
