  1. Re: Your Opinion Please - Four-Color Appropriate? For additional Information about Comic Books and the Silver Age: Here's a nice website about Marvel Comics and the Silver Age. Here's the Wikipedia Information/Reference About The Silver Age Of Comic Books. You can also view the same information on Answers.com. There's also some interesting perspective here on the Integrative Arts section on the Pennsylvania State University website about Art and the Silver Age of Comics. I hope that this helps to define "Four-Color and the Silver Age of Comics".
  2. Re: Name This Gun You could always call it... Shirley:rolleyes:

  4. Re: Help me flesh this out... Hey ahduval, who wrote the novels? I'm looking for reading material. Is it the series by George R. R. Martin?

  6. Re: My First Character Build -- Comments Appreciated A few brief mentions... Increase the DEX to 23...the advantages of that 1pt of DEX is well worth the investment. 1 higher OCV, DCV & DEX Roll Increase the Combat Luck, or perhaps the PD & ED...or maybe even both. Defenses are probably too low for a "Standard" Champions Campaign. Too many Psych. Limits! A "Standard" Champions Campaign allows 50 Maximum Points From Any One Category Of Disadvantage...you have 80 pts in Psych. Limits. Other than those few changes...he looks like a very good character.
  7. Re: Lo, Our Savior is Born! So...you think I'm stupid or something? You think I don't have any brain matter in my cranium? Do you really think that I am that much of a "dunderhead"? No...I'm pointing out that Nicholas Cage named his child after the "current Superman", not the original "Action Comics" version. It's more important where his (Nicholas Cage's) point of reference is...not what was "original". He probably grew-up with Kal-El as Superman's Kryptonian name, and not the "Action Comics" Kal-L. So, to me, it seems perfectly reasonable that he would name his child Kal-El,and not Kal-L...doesn't it to you? It also doesn't matter what mine or your point of reference is...nor for that matter anyone elses "point of view". It's a moot point!!! So PLEASE!!! THINK FIRST!!! before you insult someone's intellect...Okay.
  8. Re: Clix by the Case When I was buying MARVEL HEROCLIX, I had bout 3 cases. The product mix was quite good. There was some duplication, but that is to be expected.
  9. Re: Help me build a shrinkable lab Definitely a good concept!!!
  10. Re: Whats Everyman about? CK: Campaign City (11-) (requires street map/guidebook) Universal Translator (requires English to "other languages" phrasebooks) Cryptography (requires "decoder ring")
  11. Re: Name This Gun How about...the APW-46 Foam Suppressant Rifle. APW stands for Anti-Pyrotechnic Weapon.
  12. Re: where could i find..... I just found it amazing that someone would create Dagger without Cloak.
  13. Re: Power for Review: Magnetic Arrow How about trying this on for size... Magna-Bomb Arrow Telekenisis (25 STR), 8 Continuing Charges lasting 1 Turn each (+0), Area of Effect - Nonselective (8" Radius; +1) (75 Active Points); OAF (-1), Only Works on Ferrous Metal Objects (-1), Only Draws Objects Toward the Center of the "Area of Effect" (-1/2) Real Cost = 21 pts. SFX = Intense Magnetic Field.
  14. Re: Help me flesh this out... I can see the birth of an early "Magneto-like" persona, like from the early X-Men comics and the movies. Someone who adopts the "Us versus Them" mentality to all of his motives. I can also see the same sort of thing like Magneto in the first X-Men movie. Finding a way to create more like himself, and force the governments to change their ways of thinking...because they are now exactly like him. He never asked for his abilities...but now they will have to live with them the same way he had to learn. "There are battlelines being drawn Charles...are you sure that your on the right side?" --Magneto (X-Men 1)
  15. Re: Character write-ups should include QUOTES Can I "Quote You" on that?
  16. Re: Need another 10 points in Disads--help! For the sake of clarification, can you point out to the readers where it was that you issued an apology? I may have missed it, in which case *I* apologize. Please understand, I'm not interested in stirring up any hornets' nests. I think part of the continued problem is the lack of clarity in our writing. (Having spent the last 3 hours reading essays, writers' clarity is on my mind at the moment). Here was the apology...located in Post #25 of this thread. I'm sorry you missed it...From now on I'll have to put all apologies in BOLD TYPE from now on.
  17. Re: A complete? list of energy types What about the very basic form of energy...Kinetic Energy? As I remember, the Marvel character of The Blob had the mutant ability to absorb Kinetic Energy.
  18. Re: Character write-ups should include QUOTES Personally, I rarely included quotes for any of the PCs that I have created in the past...heck, rarely for the NPCs either. The reason for this has to do with not to "pigeon-hole" the character, and forcing a cliche'd response, which many times are not appropriate. Mostly, I find that "catchphrases/quotes" develop in gameplay. After they have had time to establish these traits...then I will add a "catchphrase/quote" to the character's background. Witty "catchphrases/quotes" usually develop on the "spur of the moment"...they're spontaneous. They usually aren't planned out, and become part of the character's lexicon of language far later.
  19. Re: WWYCD: Foxbat The Mighty! Who is this imposter? Why the @#$& is he copying Foxbat of all people?
  20. Re: where could i find..... I agree...it's a pretty good resource. There are a few holes though. Such as he has a write-up for Dagger...but no write-up for Cloak. Some of the Teen Titans are missing, along with members of Doom Patrol. But now I'm just "gnit picking". It's still a pretty good resource, all the same.
  21. Re: Need another 10 points in Disads--help! Kirby...I had already apologized for my actions...do you need to beat me up further?
  22. Re: Between Two Cities Well, Vanguard00 beat me to this suggestion...after all, Minneapolis-St. Paul are referred to as "The Twin Cities".
