I should have mentioned that I got the joke as well.  However,  to use the gold she needs some method to exchange it,  and usually the wealthy keep tight reign on that.  If some peasants suddenly appear with tons of gold,  they will make lots of noise and things will turn bad for everyone very quickly.

An ancient message. When translated, it said "Unicron resides here - you are now doomed"

Since the Torch and Storm both have the same personality, I would say that his powers would all have the Only in Hero ID (OHID) limit. Which edition are you using? The fifth edition has elemental controls (ECs) while sixth edition has done away with ECs and replaced them with Unified Power (UP). The biggest difference is that ECs are a framework that combines multiple powers under one SFX while UP is a limit that must be taken on multiple powers if the SFX allows it (similar to the earlier 5e) but it can be placed into a framework, while ECs were the framework.

Dealing with the problem with water, that never actually caused a problem for the person himself. As a result, I would make it more of a Limited Power (not when wet or fire retardant chem) on the base framework. The biggest problem with Vuln is that it affects the base char in some manner (such as causing damage) over removing the char's powers.

While the typical method is with high SPD, I have seen speedsters  with SPD of 3-4 who use speed tricks to simulate their high speed. Such tricks might be a flurry of blows, generating images so that others target false space, kinetic redirection, super dodging, among many other abilities. Basically let your skills and powers determine what you are, not the SPD. Conversely I have even seen slow, lumbering hulks that have a SPD that can rival most speeders!

Too many times I have seen situations where the character has tested another with such a weapon. Instead of making the weapon do the testing, the testing character will use the weapon on the opponent then it will actually be the attacker's view of the opponent's "evilness" that is being determined, not if that opponent is actually "evil". As a result, if they believe that a good person is evil, then this sword of evil-slaying will do full damage and on the reverse no damage would occur to that perceived good opponent (who might or not actually be evil).

I got thinking that scouts from the Balkin states looking for additional resources (perhaps weapons) several years ago were the ones who discovered the aliens. Since neither could understand the other due to their totally unique body design, the scouts assumed that when the aliens were communicating they were actually attacking. Because of this error, Earth's first interplanetary war was created. Now, all of Earth's divisions are still around in addition to that of the threat of the aliens that the superpower is willing to use for their advantage and sit on the side while the rest of the world does its best to stop them.

This will be a simple game. We will start with a word then someone will change the word by changing one letter or adding or removing one letter. Each resultant word must be a recognized word. That is all there is to this game. Lets see how much run we can have with our crazy language.

While the spell is supposed to be instant, the guide book does say that the caster can hold the casting for a period of up to four rounds. In addition, since it works against the target's fort save, (what is typically high for dwarves) each round will do additional damage (and better chance to beat that save).

Overall this is a good move for WotC. In reality, one will not find anything that is purely good of evil. Case in point, in America we claimed that the USSR was evil yet they were basically doing the same thing that we were doing only in a different manner. We refused to accept our own evil and placed them on the USSR (until it dissolved then looked for a New target). We still posses the same evil yet we see ourselves as virtuous (in most things). The USSR did the same thing to is actually. In dnd, those "evil" races could actually be the same way and those spells that target "evil" races could actually be driven by the Carter's perception of good and evil father than what is grisly good or evil.

I have never seen the alignment system as absolute. In any game (even rl) everyone possesses a code that they will live by and to some point controls their actions. This code is not mandated by some outside force but rather by their own past experiences and beliefs. This code can be considered to be that person's position on the alignment chart. It will state of I determine if some being will be good, neutral, or evil (basically the position it and I have on the alignment system). I can make a successful attack on someone who sees himself as good with a spell that only targets evil because I see that target as evil, not because they are evil.

I agree with your statement. Problem with MSOffice is that it has become such a powerhouse that regardless of how bad it is it sets the bar for everyone to go by.

During option 1, instead of going for strictly elves v dwarves let's have a minor (slave?) race that neither side worries about. This race might act as intermediary between both sides, sneak messages that should not be seen, among other things.
