Mrs. Marple has convinced me that cities are not the only place that need a paladin sorting crap out and putting the beatdown down.

I agree with Z on this, plus Scott Buck is on record for not wanting to work with the source material. So they had to create a show out of the remains of a budget used up by three other shows, use a show runner that didn't want to do Iron Fist, and have it done in a couple of months before the Defenders was scheduled to drop

The secret: All the problems that Ichigo and Karama have to deal with on their job (ghosts, demons, minor gods, major monsters, elves, elder gods, and outsiders) are all caused by Ivo Shandor trying to destroy the Dreamlands and the dreams of every human on Earth. If he succeeds, Shandor will turn the human race into insomniacs that will gradually grow more violent until they are ravening monsters, and all the creatures that depend on human belief will cease to exist.

Corriea is being coy, but I am pretty sure Stricken is a vampire of some type. I don't know how he is getting around in the daylight, but he has the speed, strength, complexion, and eye problems as a vampire.
Also the church's secret guard might be able to fit in as background checks.

The menace known as Zabo moved along the Thames menacing anyone who got in his way. He was often spotted at night, wandering the alleys and docks. he was shot during a confrontation with the Bow Street Runners, but his body was never recovered from the river.

there were some private eyes that moved to television that can make the archetype with Mike Hammer being the most prominent. I admit my own example first character only appears on the Turner Classic Movie channel, but I assumed everyone knew the Thin Man.

Kick Charleston founded the Society at the insistence of his wife. Proclaiming himself retired and living off her vast fortune, Kick combines a sharp mind with a charm that makes even his deadliest enemy sorry to see him go. People tend to say things that they should keep to themselves when he is around, and that's enough.

Okay. building a setting is good. Since Superman is the most proactive hero in most of the media he is in, he should probably be your role model: Disaster relief, urban renewal, humanitarian efforts, scientific accomplishments, bring corruption to light.

The Nevada governor wants to privatize parts of his state, and hand over control to companies. It's always former businessmen who go into politics that think this will work out. It's like don't you remember the other disasters that happened when government decided to let businesses do whatever they want

csyphrett reacted to Duke Bushido in RIP Rush Limbaugh
Limbaugh had a segment on his radio show at one time (and I may be dating myself here, but I am sure I am not the only old fart on this board) where he would read out loud the names of homosexual men who had died of A.I.D.S., then _cheered_ and laughed and sounded party horns and those little spinning grinder noise makers.
I have heard this firsthand, with my own ears, and often enough to know it was a regular feature of his program.
I have heard him do segments "proving" that minorities are the cause of all violent and drug-related crime.
And most dispicably, at least to me, I have on more than one occasion via both television and radio, I have heard him, like so many others, use the Bible to "justify" not just this, but numerous other vile things he has put forward. To be fair, he is not unique in that. Lots of folks who have never studied it think they know what it says.
I have heard him beat the Law and Order drum and blow the Crime and Punishment trumpet so loud and so long as to become his own parade-- and specifically I remember his indignant outcry at the horrors of drug abusers not being cast into prison for decades at a time.
And I remember his own pleas for leniency and exemption when he was discovered to be one of these very same hardened criminals.
I am commanded to find good somewhere in all people, and to love them because, as my Father's children, they are all my brothers and sisters. Alas, I have to simply assume that there was some part of Limbaugh that was worth knowing, as I have never seen it for myself.
All that said, I suspect the tumors that killed him were perhaps the least cancerous thing about him.

I'm pretty sure that means that we'll have copious conspiracy theories about his death. I suppose those would be a fitting tribute to his life's work, though.
