  1. I've already lost family to Covid. I no longer have any sympathy for anti vaxxers or anti maskers. I tried to be considerate, but that doesn't work when only one side is doing it. At this point, I don't care what sort of pain and suffering they receive. Let them feel what they're inflicting on others. It's wrong...but that's where I'm at right now.

It's bitter irony that the avowed party of small government and personal freedom is eager to use big government to quash any freedom it doesn't like.

Conservatives are perfectly fine with government as long as it aligns with their values and interests. Do you think they'd cry about "big government" if that government overturned Roe vs Wade? Not a chance.

I'd rather see the legislature compromising on bills meant to benefit the country as a whole, with neither party being entirely thrilled with the results, than so devoted to sinking the opposition's every proposal that nothing gets done.

The only reason that the Reps are letting it go through now is that they feel they've sapped it enough that it will fail to bring positive results.....which they'll blame the Dems for. Again....too early to get excited.

I would love to hear about what you did to Road Kill to make them relative and stuff LL. Many of the villains were not exactly heavy metal enough ( Boomer was practically a Prince/Michael Jackson guy walking around with metalheads).

As for AA...the group was at least united in theam. One can chalk upNeon thinking his gasses were Neon as just him being stupid. If one wanted a "Battle of the Bands" thing, you could do better than AA, but if you update them to make more sense then go for it. If not, your only resource is to create your own bands.

I updated AA to 6th Ed and changed Neon's name to Gaslighter.

  5. This was my official FB review....

Movie Review: Black Widow (2021). With the never ending delays on this film's release, it was almost inevitable that the expectations around this one would surpass what we actually get. This film in many ways reminds me of Solo. There's nothing particularly wrong with it, but there's nothing that really stands out about it either. If it hadn't been made, I don't feel like we would have been missing anything in terms of its impact on the MCU. Now....I'll freely admit this film would have felt much better had it come out before Infinity War. As it stands, this movie can't really offer up much excitement as we already know where this story ends. Taskmaster was the big draw for me and that ended up as a disappointment (and not for the twist everyone is complaining about). Dave Harbour's Red Guardian is probably the best thing about the film. I also appreciated seeing Rachael Weisz again (a favorite of mine since 1999's The Mummy). Again, there's nothing embarrassing here, but it just doesn't pack enough of a punch visually or dramatically for me to give it more than an average grade. So...this one gets a C+

I tend not to rush to see a movie in a theater as soon as it opens, so I don't usually experience packed houses, and that may color my perceptions; but I've rarely had a theater visit outright spoiled by audience members. However, what I experience in a theater is different from watching a movie at home. The big screen in a big space, the sound around me and through me, the responses to the movie by the other audience members... there's a sense of community there, of sharing in a collective event, of being part of something bigger than myself. IMHO no home theater setup, however elaborate, can offer that.

We do movies at the theater because it is a rare opportunity for a date night, but all of these reasons are perfectly valid too.  :)

  7. My last option pick is The Cosmic Cube.

Location is the Blue Area of the Moon (as per Marvel)

    Title: Dark Mirror

Plot: The Grandmaster forces a conflict with the prize being a cosmic cube. As usual, he has other plans aa well.

The players are all vaguely similar, but opposite: Homelander/Mon El, Loki/Mask, Phoenix/White Violin, Mastermind/Daredevil/Sensor Girl

Much of the story's intrigue comes from the interaction of the game's various players.

Rudy Giuliani’s Law License Suspended Over ‘Demonstrably False’ Statements

“We conclude that there is uncontroverted evidence that respondent communicated demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the public at large in his capacity as lawyer for former President Donald J. Trump and the Trump campaign in connection with Trump’s failed effort at reelection in 2020,” the court found. “These false statements were made to improperly bolster respondent’s narrative that due to widespread voter fraud, victory in the 2020 United States presidential election was stolen from his client. We conclude that respondent’s conduct immediately threatens the public interest and warrants interim suspension from the practice of law.”

The first real act of accountability...however small....that I've seen in a long time.
