Hello, at one point, HD6 stopped opening certain characters and I cannot figure out why. I looked through the trace log and saw some memory full error text. Does anyone have a fix? thanks!

I have a chrome book laptop. I downloaded hero designer. I open it and see the jar file. I open the gear icon. I choose advanced. No Javascript option to enable. Advice please. And would it kill you to make hero designer to work on your phone too?

What tag (if any) is available to identify the powers that are contained in a VPP and which VPP they are tied to? I only see the <!--IS_VPP--><!--/IS_VPP-->, is it something contained within those? Is there a parent UID available to tie powers to a particular VPP? - Ernie

Is there a way to create a flag that is set when a power has Reduced Endurance as an advantage? If not, I think I can loop through all the adders to find it, I was just hoping there was a way to create toggles for 1/2 END and 0 END. Thanks. - E

In Hero System Skills the Divination is written up that you pick 1 Primary and 2 Secondary for xx points on a skill roll. What would be the best way to do this in HD or is there a Skill I might be missing that would be easy to cut/past/edit for it?

Is there a way to set a fields maximum length on export? Say to 250 or 2,000 characters? I would like to add some of the more descriptive fields to a layout but want to be able to limit the output to something reasonable for the medium. Thanks. - E

Brand new to hero designer and I can't seem to find an option for character maxima for a heroic game, and my GM is using it for an upcoming campaign. Does it exist? If so, how would I go about implementing it for a character?

From I think the above is a book-legal VPP, however the OP says he can't figure out how to make that work in Hero Designer. I'll let him know where this thread is, and hopefully you can help him out. Since I don't use HD, I'm not much help.

Hi, I can't use "Growth" anymore because I get an empty window instead of the normal one (see attached file). Normally I would simply re-install everything but re-installing Java dos not help. Any ideas? Regards, Tobias

It's not just one power or pool, and it's not just one character. I am not able to add modifiers to anything, the button is utterly unresponsive. I click on it and nothing happens. Does anyone have a clue what the issue is or what I might do to fix it?

I'm having a problem getting abbreviations to work. 1. With Abbreviations checked and Writers Guidelines unchecked. Example: Armor Piercing's abbreviation is AP, but HD doesn't replace Armor Piercing with its abbreviation. 2. With Abbreviations checked and Writers Guidelines checked. Same problem as 1. I checked the XML and the tag ABBREVIATION on all the problems that use ABBREVIATION is spelled correctly. So, that is not where the problem lies. Am I doing something wrong, or is it a program bug. It's not a XML bug as far as I can tell. P.S.: I'm using the March 1, 2021 update.

I'm in an online game and the GM mentioned to me that there is no more half dice on blast and that it is strictly 5 pts per d6. I see the power shows that but I don't see anywhere that says you can not buy a half die. The Hero Designer still allows it for purchase. Is this true?

I have this power: Not sure if it is because it is a compound power, but the also not sure how to work around the Increased Endurance Cost being full value. Referring to 6e1, 374: "A character may apply the Increased Endurance Cost Limitation to a power that Costs Endurance Only To Activate (whether due to an Advantage or a Limitation), but he only receives half value for the Limitation." - E

Not high priority, just noticed that you can add "Summoned Being Must Inhabit Locale (-1/2)" multiple times to the summon power. Might be fixed in a later version, not sure. - E

On 6e1, 380 it talks about taking an addition -1/4 when "the character definitely suffers some extra restriction or drawback beyond the standard restriction of having an Accessible Focus.". There does not appear to be an option for that in the foci dialog, is that correct? I am running HERO Designer 6 Build 20160704. If it's not supposed to be there, all is good, I'll just add a custom limitation or limited power, just want to make sure I am not missing something. - E
