What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Right now I'm listening to my cubicle neighbor play irritating Chili Peppers tracks on his laptop. I'll give him seven minutes, then he's going to discover that I have a subwoofer here in my cube. What should I use for ammunition? The staccato crunchy guitars of Pantera? The deep funk of Rage Against the Machine? Perhaps the technological power of the Crystal Method?

I'd use the 1812 overture. :eg:

That would have been my suggestion... either that or Jean Michel Jarre's RENDEZVOUS.

How about Enya? :D

Hey, I like Enya. At least I did during and shortly after Clannad.

Old Man, how about a Spanish sports broadcast?

I admit I'm biased against the 1812. It frosts my cheese that this became The Thing To Play on July 4th for a time. I've got a disk of Sousa marches that I use to blow the dust out of my speakers every Independence Day. Real American music for a real American holiday.

Well, the guy got up and left before the deadline, so I had to stand down. Turns out I have nothing really offensive on my machine here at work, but I was going to lead with Primer 55's 'Loose' and follow up with Rage--a really heavy rap-metal 1-2 combination.

Yeah, but the cannons are a really nice touch.

". . . It's cheesy and lame, but eerily soothing at the same time!"

Oh, the Evil . . . !

Exactly why it's so good for drowning out obnoxious music... they have to admit they were out-blasted by Enya.

*laughing so hard that she chokes on her pasta*

I can so hear that here...

And I'm still trying to find musical inspiration for my next trailer...

. . . Or how about a tooth drill . . . !?

Dwriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii . . .

Thing is, that sound really doesn't have the appropriate effect by itself. If you could pipe in the ineffable smell of scorched tooth enamel at the same time, then you'd really have something.
